In an email to Club Nintendo members yesterday, Nintendo Australia revealed that an Art Academy competition like the one previously announced for the US is now available to residents of Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The contest involves drawing artwork in the Free Paint mode of Pokemon Art Academy and submitting it via Miiverse. Two themes are available, ‘Pikachu Dress Up’ and ‘Your Favourite Pokemon’.

Entries will be judged on skill, artistic expression, originality and creativity. A shortlist of 50 entries will be presented to TCG illustrators, who will select 3 winners. The winning artwork will be made into special edition TCG cards and each winner will receive 100 of their own cards. These cards can not be used in competitions.

Previous drawing contests held in Japan have yielded some of the most expensive Pokemon TCG cards on record, due to their limited release and availability. It will be interesting to see how much these new cards may fetch, if any winner is willing to sell them, as there are sure to be collectors interested.

Entries must be submitted by March 29th, and winners will be picked during April. For more details, visit the official announcement.
