Crossroads Comics #101-The Legend of Incineroar

It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for Crossroads Comics!

Thanks for putting up with the two week break in between this episode and the last. Hopefully you enjoy this week’s spotlight since it’s one of my personal favorites. This week, we’re looking at The Legend of Incineroar. This comic is unlike anything I’ve ever seen and that really adds to its allure as a story. It follows Incineroar, a once selfish and prideful Pokémon who spent his days fighting anyone he could alongside his best friend, Pikachu. However, after his son is born, Incineroar begins to change. Now all he cares about is his family, and he’ll do anything to protect them. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy with Incineroar’s change of heart, so Incineroar must embark on a quest in order to protect his family from new enemies, former friends, and extremely terrifying princesses.

This comic is entirely in black and white and updates in a single panel format. The author, blargargy, has really made use of ComicFury’s custom formatting that allows you to not only jump from panel to panel just by clicking on it, but also allows you to scroll if you so choose. It’s something that the previous hosting site, Smackjeeves, could not really offer. As a result, this comic’s reading format is somewhat unique but it suits the comic very well and makes for an overall enjoyable experience. In addition, the comic’s cast is not limited to just Pokémon. Without going into spoilers, while the main cast is mostly Pokémon, some of the side characters include those from the Super Mario franchise, with the possibility of really anyone from Super Smash Bros able to make an appearance. It makes the story wild and fun, since you never quite know what to expect.

I binged this comic over a few days and it’s really a great comic to read if you’re looking for something to do during quarantine.

And be sure to check out the rest of the comics that updated this week! We got a few new ones and ones that haven’t updated in a while in the lineup, so be sure not to miss them!
