  1. Hey look ma, I made it!

It's official! I'm the first person in my immediate family to graduate from college! I just finished my last exam today and I'm graduating on the 11th when a BA in Psychology and a minor in General Business!

I have no idea what kind of job I want but I've been a research assistant for almost 3 years at my school and I'd really like to find a job as some sort of research tech. It's a lot of fun and the studies have been pretty interesting too.

  2. We made a movie trailer!

This is my last blog until after finals I swear. Just really proud of this and wanted to show it off.

I took a film class this past semester and our final project was to make a trailer for a film based on one of the genres we had studied. We chose comedy/drama. Unfortunately, my group was a bunch of procrastinators who don't know how to edit to save their lives so I was stuck editing this entire thing together the night before it was due. I spent six or seven hours editing and it ...

  3. My Innovation & Change class

Hello everybody! Today (April 24), during the Innovation & Change class, I had to talk about a positive change in my life, one that I am proud of. So, I took a deep breath and said something like :

"Two years ago, at the beginning of 2017, I wanted to improve my English and to make new friends. It is easier for me to make new friends online than in real life. As a result, I joined an English-speaking Pokemon forum because I love Pokemon. I didn't know anyone on that forum ...

  4. Semana Santa

So last week was Semana Santa, or Holy Week. Semana Santa is a huuuuuggeeee celebration in Spain, and Sevilla is no exception from the festivities. They have floats and music and special foods and more! It's a huge large scale collaboration between all the churches and brotherhoods in the city.

So first up as part of my volunteering a few weeks ago I got to help with the preparations by cleaning some of the guide lamps that would appear on the floats, or Pasos, during Semana Santa. ...

  5. Recap of Ireland

It's been a few days since I got back from Ireland, so let's do this recap!

So this trip was mostly coordinated by my friend. We flew into Dublin and spent the night there before heading to Cork the next morning. In Cork on the second day we just went to a bar and partied the night away. Normally, not my cup of tea, but it was retro night and ya girl can get down to some Footloose and Michael Jackson. Unfortunately, my friends can't party at all if they're sober, so both of them got ...

  6. Personal Issues

Hey guys, just needed to get something off my chest. The short version of this post is: Murphy's Law has invaded my home, and everything that could go wrong, either has, or is not far from doing so.

    Spoiler:
My grandpa has been fighting cancer for a long time now, and he was recovering, but he got sick and he is no longer strong enough to take treatments and the cancer has spread drastically. We discovered that at some point he had broken his back and nobody, not even he, knew and it healed

  7. OH HELLO WHAT'S THIS?

I think I've come out of my social shell now? I'm not sure. Maybe tomorrow I'll decide that I want to be a recluse again. I dunno. Regular socialization both enriches my life and makes it more hectic. So it's kinda a double-edged sword. Regardless I'm glad to see everyone!

Wow, last time I updated was in '17? That's insane. Life's been going well for me, actually. For those that are curious to any major life events since that last, fateful blog post, I'll fill you in! I wanna keep ...

  8. I was on a Podcast!

    Hey guys!

You may know me as your friendly, neighborhood writer for PXR. The person that writes a lot for the front page that you may or may not look at as you come to PXR.

To be honest, I have always knew about the blog option. The problem is that after spending thirty minutes to hours writing for the main site, I don't really feel like writing more. Especially for "fun". The horrors!!!

That said, somebody recently told me that I could have ...

  9. Hacia Portugal and the Vineyard

Since Cleo posted her travel update I decided why not post another of mine. This'll be shorter since there isn't much that I've done since last time.

The major place I've visited recently is Lisbon, Portugal. I met with my dad and one of his coworkers there and it was a nice relaxing trip. My mom coordinated a bunch of places we could go to while we were visiting. We got to visit Saint George's castle, the Santa Justa Lift, several monuments, among other things. I also got offered ...

  10. Second update about my semester in Ghent

Hello everybody! Easter break has just started for me and I thought that it was time for a second update about my semester in Ghent.

All my teachers are really nice to me, which is great. One of them (the accounting teacher) even distributed dried soybeans to the students a few weeks ago, which is very kind of her. The soybeans were delicious. :D
I would also like to say thank you to everyone who replied to the survey for my Innovation & Change class. Your answers were ...
