It’s time to pair up with some solid Pokémon!

The Rock-type Egg event has begun in Pokémon Masters! This event adds multiple Rock-type Pokémon to Eggs including Kabuto & Aerodactyl as potential Sync Pairs for the Main Character. It also adds Shiny Kabuto and Shiny Aerodactyl in. This event runs until August 25th. Look below for a little breakdown as to what each new potential pair has to offer.
Main Character and Geodude

The first of the new potential sync pairs is Geodude! Geodude, and its evolutions, are primarily rock types with a weakness to ground types. Depending on the rarity of the pair, they can have one of several combinations of passive abilities, type skills, and moves.
The first combination is Unbending, Stalwart, and Revenge Boost 1. Unbending and Stalwart prevent the Defense and Special Defense stats from being lowered. Revenge Boost 1 has a small chance of charging the user’s move gauge by one when the user is hit by an attack move. It also has the type skill of Rock Support which raises the maximum HP of all allied sync pairs by 30. With this combination, Geodude’s line receives the following moveset: Rock Throw, X Defense, Stand Together!, and Ancient Power. Stand Together is a special move that raises the Defense and Speed of all allied sync pairs. Their sync move is Rock Sync Impact.
The second combination is Unbending, Stalwart, and Stamina Reserves 2. Once per battle, Stamina Reserves 2 charges the user’s move gauge by two when the user is in a pinch. With this combination, they also have the type skill, Rock Tech, which raises allies’s Attack and Sp. Atk by 12 when using Rock-type attacks, and raises the maximum HP of all allied sync pairs by 12. With this combination, the moveset is: Rock Throw, X Speed, Hang in There!, and Rock Tomb. Hang in There is a special move that raises the user’s Defense and Sp. Def and makes the user gradually heal itself. Their sync move is Rock Sync Impact.
The third combination is Unbending, Power Reserves 2, and Superduper Effective 1. Power Reserves 2 powers up moves in a pinch. Superduper Effective 1 powers up moves that are super effective. They also have the type skill, Rock Strike, which raises allies’s Attack and Sp. Atk by 15 when using Rock-type attacks. With this combination, the moveset is: Rock Throw, X Attack, Hang in There!, and Rock Slide. Their sync move is Rock Sync Impact.
Main Character and Onix

The next new potential sync pair is Onix. Onix is a primarily rock type with a weakness to water types. It is not capable of evolution at this time. Depending on the rarity of the pair, Onix can have one of several combinations of passive abilities, type skills, and moves.
The first combination is Vigilance, Natural Remedy, and Quick Cure. Vigilance protects the Pokémon against critical hits. Once per battle, Natural Remedy removes all status conditions from the user when the user is inflicted by any status condition. Quick Cure removes the confused, flinching, and trapped conditions from the user once during battle. It also has the tech skill, Rock Support. Its moves for this combination are: Rock Throw, X Defense, Stand Together!, and Rock Tomb. Onix’s Sync Move is Rock Sync Impact.
The second combination is Vigilance, Unbending, and Stamina Reserves 2. Its type skill is Rock Tech. The moveset for this combination is: Rock Throw, X Speed, Hang in There!, and Screech. Onix’s Sync Move is Rock Sync Impact.
The third combination is Vigilance and Power Reserves 2. Its type skill is Rock Strike. The moveset for this combination is: Rock Throw, X Attack, Keep it Up!, and Head Smash. Keep it Up is a special move that sharply raises the user’s Speed and makes the user gradually heal itself. Onix’s Sync Move is Rock Sync Impact.
Main Character and Kabuto

The next new potential sync pair is Kabuto. Kabuto and Kabutops are primarily rock types with a weakness to grass types. Depending on the rarity of the pair, Kabuto can have one of several combinations of passive abilities, type skills, moves, and potentially be shiny.
The first combination is Sand Shelter, First Aid 2, and Revenge Boost 1. Sand Shelter protects the Pokémon from damage from a sandstorm. First Aid 2 restores a bit of the Pokémon’s HP once during battle when the Pokémon is in a pinch. Its type skill is Rock Support. The moveset for this combination is: Ancient Power, Potion, Strike Together!, and Rock Tomb. Strike Together is a special move that raises the Attack and Speed of all allied sync pairs. Their sync move is Rock Sync Beam.
The second combination is Sand Shelter, Stamina Reserves 2, and Sands of Time 1. Sand of Time 1 quickly charges the move gauge in a sandstorm. They have the type skill, Rock Tech. The moveset for this combination is: Ancient Power, Sandstorm, Hang in There!, and Rock Tomb. Their sync move is Rock Sync Beam. It is believed at this time that this is the only combination capable of being shiny, though this is unconfirmed.
The third combination is Sand Shelter, Power Reserves 2, and Superduper Effective 1. They have the type skill Rock Strike. The moveset for this combination is: Ancient Power, Dire Hit, Keep it up!, and Rock Slide. Their sync move is Rock Sync Impact.
Main Character and Aerodactyl

The final new potential sync pair is Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl is a primarily rock type with a weakness to electric types. Depending on the rarity of the pair, Aerodactyl can have one of several combinations of passive abilities, type skills, moves, and potentially be shiny.
The first combination is First Aid 2 and Revenge Boost 1 with the type skill, Rock Support. The moveset for this combination is Smack Down, X Defense, Strike Together!, and Stone Edge. The sync move is Rock Sync Impact.
The second combination is Headstrong, Stamina Reserves 2, and Aggravation 1 with the type skill, Rock Tech. Headstrong prevents the Attack stat from being lowered. Aggravation 1 raises the chance of inflicting the flinching, confused, or trapped condition with the additional effects of moves. The moveset for the combination is: Smack Down, X Speed, Keep it Up!, and Rock Slide. The sync move is Rock Sync Impact.
The final combination is Headstrong, Power Reserves 2, and Critical Strike 1 with the type skill, Rock Strike. Critical Strike 1 powers up attacks if they become critical hits. The moveset for this combination is: Smack Down, X Attack, Race You!, and Stone Edge. Race You is a special move that sharply raises the user’s Speed and raises the user’s critical-hit rate. The sync move is Rock Sync Impact. It is believed at this time that this is the only combination capable of being shiny, though this is unconfirmed.
