    Spoiler:
The trucks rattled quietly as they traveled down the back roads away from Goldenrod City. The caravan of five vehicles traveled north towards Ecruteak City, but their actual destination was Olivine City. It would be several hours before they reached that destination. Inside the third car were four guards and a teenage girl dressed in all black. Her hands were cuffed behind the chair she was seated in, her long brown hair tickling her wrists. She sighed, his head angled towards the ceiling as she watched the ceiling. She tapped her foot impatiently before crossing her legs. Two of the guards straightened at the moment.

“Oh don’t get your panties in a twist,” she growled at them. The men looked uncomfortable at the snap but did not reply. Then again, they were already thoroughly uncomfortable with the situation. Her capture had not been what they were expecting.

Several hours earlier, target Sloane Jackson, girlfriend of the wanted fugitive Dylan Thomas, had been spotted in Goldenrod City. Johto’s military deployed the appropriate forces to apprehend the girl, suspecting her to be aiding in the crimes of her significant other. She had tried to resist arrest for a bit, but eventually gave in. Her backpack and pokeballs were taken. However, when she was about to be pat down, Sloane had put up a fight, claiming she did not want to be touched, and disarmed herself. Not wanting to use excessive force in public, the guards agreed and led Sloane to the truck where she was questioned. When asked about her relationship with Dylan, she said that he was “the father of her child” startling many of the officers. She had smirked at that, teasing them that she had seen the looks at her distended stomach and assured them that she was in fact not fat, but rather pregnant. How this was not on record is unknown, but predictable with the current generation’s mentalities.

“I need to pee!” Sloane suddenly announced loudly as she bounced her knee slightly. She looked between the different guards and frowned deeply. “What? I’m pregnant! I’m handling this for two people here. If you’d rather me just go here I’ll gladly do so.” The guards looked between each other before one mumbled,

“I’ll radio the trucks to stop.” A few moments later the trucks all slowed. Sloane was taken from the trucks and given two female guards to escort her to the woods next to the road. Once they were no longer visible from the road, Sloane sighed.

“Okay, this is good. Y’all don’t mind turning around do you?” she asked. The female guards shook their heads, understanding Sloane’s wish for privacy. They turned around as Sloane began to do her business. After a moment Sloane said, “You know, it’s too bad you’re both so polite. Makes it more difficult for me to do this.” Sloane roundhoused one guard straight to the head. The other dodged Sloane’s attack and began to radio for backup when something bit her hand. She cried out and looked down to see what bit her only to see a shaymin? Where had that come from? Sloane ran up and kneed the woman in the jaw. The two women collapsed as Sloane dusted off her hands. She smiled at Shaymin. “Nice job. Sorry, I know hiding in my pants couldn’t have been fun.”

“Min!” Shaymin replied with a huff.

“Hey it wasn’t pleasant for me either, missy. Now the police think I’m pregnant. If this gets out Lady Sun will strangle me if Lady Ignus doesn’t beat her to it.” Shaymin rolled its eyes before tapping Sloane’s foot. “Right, let’s go.” Sloane bent down and picked up Shaymin. She looked back in the direction of the trucks, a pang in her heart as she left behind her partners. Hopefully they would understand and be safe. Taking a deep breath, Sloane took off in the opposite direction of the trucks, venturing deeper into the woods. She had probably five minutes before they started to raise question. Sloane had to make good use of that time. There was a river near Goldenrod. It was the source of the hydroelectric dam that Goldenrod used for power after all. If she could make it there she could probably follow it to Azalea Town and then to the sea. Taking off in a sprint, Sloane took as erratic of a path as possible. It would mess with the tracking maybe. Sloane didn’t really know but better to try than risk not.

It wasn’t long before Sloane heard running water in the distance. Picking up the pace, Sloane broke into a clearing where the Goldenrod River rushed by. Sloane smiled but did not have much time to relish in this victory. She heard howling, a houndoom call. The police were on her trail. Well not much time to waste now. Sloane held Shaymin close to her chest, took a deep breath, and jumped into the river. The current was swift, sweeping Sloane forward as if she were a twig. Sloane’s right shoulder collided with a rock almost right off, making Sloane release some of her breath. She closed her eyes and curled into a ball until she was forced to break the surface for air. Sloane looked behind her, her vision blurry from the water sprays and the fact that her contact lenses were not appreciating the white water rapids waterslide trip. Sloane could make out in the distance several figures coming down the side of the river. Rats, she’d have to move faster if she didn’t want to be caught. Taking another breath, Sloane dove back underwater and began to kick, accelerating down the river. She crashed into another set of rocks but kept going. She could whine about her wounds later. The current began to increase in speed and Sloane knew she was in for a bumpy ride. Emerging for air for a moment, Sloane lifted Shaymin up quickly before ducking down. Kicking forward some more, Sloane felt the water begin to spin and knew they were beginning to enter a more turbulent part of the rapids. A thought suddenly occurred to Sloane. Wasn’t there more than one waterfall on this river? As the speed increase dramatically, she realized she had not thought this through enough and curled into a ball just in time to be launched into the air.

Sloane opened one of her eyes to see herself plummeting quite quickly. Tensing up, Sloane crashed into the water below and was swept away in the river again as if being taken down the world’s wildest waterslide. Sloane gasped for air as she reemerged. Looking around, Sloane could see she had left the police behind at the waterfall. That was a good sign. She was almost to Violet City. Well, if this was like a waterslide, then Sloane knew the trick to going faster. Holding Shaymin close to her chest, Sloane straightened out and shot forward like a torpedo. The incline slowly increased before Sloane hit another waterfall, sending Sloane flying into the water pools by the Sprout Tower in Violet City. Several people standing nearby gave her confused looks and offered to help but Sloane didn’t have time.

“No thank you! I need to go! Thank you, bye!” Sloane, shivering from the cold air, took off through Violet City towards Azalea Town. It wouldn’t be long now, she would find Dylan, and she would get to the bottom of this. Ducking through the city, Sloane made her way to Route 32. The sea smell in the air was a good indication she was almost there. There was a Pokemon Center halfway down the route. It would give away her location, but if she could withdraw a pokemon quick enough, Sloane could surf to Kanto, or at least outside of Johto borders. They would lose jurisdiction to chase her then.

It didn’t take long to reach the Pokemon Center on Route 32. It was a relatively shorter route and people tended to get out of your way when you’re soaking wet. Stepping inside, Sloane made her way over to the PC and cracked her knuckles. Quickly logging in, Sloane withdrew her trusty Sharpedo, logged out, and sprinted out the door. Throwing the dive ball into the air off the coast, Sloane held onto Jaws with one arm and Shaymin with the other. The sharpedo rocketed out to sea, and soon Johto was just an afterthought with Kanto on the horizon.
Awesome story, Sloane! It made me laugh and I really like your strategy to escape from the police! :)
