Neo I realize asking for another season 2 is too much and I really don't expect you to take on such a ridiculous task. But making it more complex doesn't mean you have to go to that level. Maybe adding one or two extra steps rather than 17. Just looking at the at the ritual from season 2, you could have cut down a ton of work just by making items a singular found thing, rather than having to find them in pieces and assemble. or Have less Utopia pokemon to find/finding one makes it easier to find the others. In terms of season 3, tracking down more utopia pokemon might have made the sample checking go faster. If Ritual items are hidden in stalker hideouts, you don't have to make the hideouts themselves harder to get into.

You're a really good RP designer so really I trust you to make it a fun experience, but simply because Season 2 was too complex we shouldn't discount adding difficulty in smaller doses.

I would also add that it's okay to patch things during the game, especially if something isn't working or something's unclear.

Hi guys! I've been super absent lately and this included Stalkers round 3 which I had 0% part in. However, I did probably 40% of season 2 (excluding things already in place from round 1) and, surprise, I want to have a hand in Stalkers at some point again soon, whether that's the next round or sometime in the future.

So, to sort things out for me and also for Neo, anyone who is interested can fill out the form below. You've given your opinions which is great, but I'm gonna try to hone in on specific mechanics which could really improve gameplay (and thus affect the things you've mentioned in your posts already, hopefully positively).

Please try to keep answers clear and concise. Feel free to dot point each statement/topic. You can also go ahead and skip some questions if you find them repetitive or if you don't have an answer.

Thanks, guys! And please take the time to thank Neo for his incredible efforts this round! I know personally how much time and effort goes into Stalkers, and wow it can be draining. xD Tonnes of fun as well, and it really pays of when you get positive feedback. When it's negative, it really sucks. But it also means there's stuff we can work on to make it more fun for you guys! Neo really worked this round to iron out kinks we created in season 2 which ultimately made it all fall apart. So yes, don't forget to give him a clap or two. ^-^

    Stalkers Round 3 Feedback

What have you enjoyed most about Stalkers (any season)? First of all, I like how instead of just telling us the result Neo works it into some really good writing. I also still appreciate the darker themes and supernatural elements a lot.
...I'll be honest, what I enjoy most is the story element itself. The game elements do make it interesting and raise the stakes a lot but I don't tend to think about them as much.

What do you feel did NOT work in season 3, or needed more work? I wasn't really here for 90% of Season 3, so I'm not sure if I can say.

Was there something from season 1 or 2 that got removed which you think should return? I'm not sure if something similar was here or not, but I thought using Diplomacy for a Rap Battle with the Chatot AI was interesting and perhaps other Perks could be implemented in a similar way if that's possible?

What do you think needs to be changed for the next season? Again, wasn't really here.

Do you have any specific things you'd like to be able to do that you can't already (tasks, abilities, actions, perks, etc)? Um...

If you could list five changes or additions that you think would improve Stalkers for the next round, what would they be? Uuuuuuuuuh...

Any other comments? Not really? Sorry.

What have you enjoyed most about Stalkers (any season)?

Just the ambiance of the world, and exploring it.

What do you feel did NOT work in season 3, or needed more work?

More things for us to do--while having Tashy was a fun callback to season 1, it effectively put the game on autopilot, as many others have said. It doesn't have to be on as big a scale as Season 2 was, but the Sin Purge is more worthwhile when we assemble it ourselves.

Was there something from season 1 or 2 that got removed which you think should return?

    Putting the ritual together ourselves.

What do you think needs to be changed for the next season?

Having an ally we've saved before is nice, but dial back the role they play so the game isn't on autopilot.

Do you have any specific things you'd like to be able to do that you can't already (tasks, abilities, actions, perks, etc)?

Use our innate Poke-powers to fight! I've wanted to Thunderbolt a Stalker or three so much!

Barring that, some means of defending ourselves (simple weaponry, martial arts, etc.)

If you could list five changes or additions that you think would improve Stalkers for the next round, what would they be?

--A Sin Purge we have to find and assemble ourselves
--The ability to battle and defend ourselves
--if there is a callback character, don't have them play the game for us.
--Showing off more of what a world's culture was like before the Stalkers came, and maybe provide a little levity/possible challenge idea, such as a glorified game of Simon to open a lock, for example
--Ease off the specter of mission disclosure--I was afraid to interview anyone for this reason.

    Any other comments?

    Not so far.

    talkers Round 3 Feedback

What have you enjoyed most about Stalkers (any season)? Definitely Neo's writing, I really liked the way Tashy tied previous rounds of stalkers to season 3. The pacing was really nice, but I feel there was room for a little more creativity. Having a sanity buff for sidequests was really nice and easier than dealing with berries.

What do you feel did NOT work in season 3, or needed more work? Clearly having a stalker identified purely on interviewing didn't work, though I definitely think it be a good idea to mix in interviewing as more essential to tracking down stalkers. Finding Tashy was an interesting twist, but it created a kind of lack in involvement in the ritual's preparation, as we'd just find the items and tashy would prepare everything for us. Assassination is also useless at this point, since exorcism was allowed right away. (Having to discover a teacher was nice) There was definitely still an element of 'If you search everywhere, you're pretty much promised a win" element, though it wasn't too bad due to the yandil business.

Was there something from season 1 or 2 that got removed which you think should return? Having to find the exorcism teacher, some NPCs will be less compliant until you complete their side quest. (As an alternative side quest motive to sanity bonus) I also liked the way sidequests would only appear after a certain amount of time or after certain events occurred, like in season two. Help with the illusion that actual days/weeks are passing.

What do you think needs to be changed for the next season? Not too much, just experiment and get a little more creative with the difficulty. Not to the same length as season 2, but there was room to expand in season 3.

Do you have any specific things you'd like to be able to do that you can't already (tasks, abilities, actions, perks, etc)? An idea: once a stalker is identified, have a way to restrain and interrogate the stalker directly (as opposed to their outward, mask personality). It would cost sanity to do so, but could be a good mechanic for finding items the stalker hid (IE holy ritual items) as well as furthering the Utopia plot.

If you could list five changes or additions that you think would improve Stalkers for the next round, what would they be? Over-time developments (most likely sidequests), slightly more involvement in ritual, Rework attaining Exorcism, add kids/different ages to interviewable pokemon, and otherwise just feel free to get creative.

    Any other comments?
Hey, don't worry about season 2. The sequal rarely ends up as successful as the original, the third can be hit or miss, but the fourth is usually a clean slate :)

Ok let's do the biggest challenge yet! Feedback...
What have you enjoyed most about Stalkers (any season)?
I really just like storys I can be apart of. And the idea. And I also always liked the NPCs.

What do you feel did NOT work in season 3, or needed more work?
That we would use our skills or perks only once or twice unless it was exsorim, investigate, or lockpick. I would like it if we could use those things more. Also I would like more Pokémon type things. Lastly there needs to be more health damage.

Was there something from season 1 or 2 that got removed which you think should return?
I liked the water places but that might not work the best. But I really did like it.

What do you think needs to be changed for the next season?
Second question stuff I answered with.

Do you have any specific things you'd like to be able to do that you can't already (tasks, abilities, actions, perks, etc)?
Town of Salem has told me that we have covered it! Even if I don't play that game so much!

If you could list five changes or additions that you think would improve Stalkers for the next round, what would they be?
I can't list five sorry. But I can say that people seem to want to be more interactive with the ritual and I agree.

    Any other comments?
    No?

    Stalkers Round 3 Feedback

What have you enjoyed most about Stalkers (any season)?
The world building is amazing. It's like light RPing/an interactive story which is also fun but doesn't require too much time from us. I also like the puzzles and trying to figure out stalker identities, following clues etc.

What do you feel did NOT work in season 3, or needed more work?
I felt like I couldn't really interview people much as I had a bad match with most of the Pokemon. Didn't stop me enjoying the game though and I purposefully picked Security and decided I'd focus more on searching instead. This was the only thing I could think of. xD

Was there something from season 1 or 2 that got removed which you think should return?
The places only accessible to certain Pokemon like the water places were pretty cool. The problem is we don't always cover every typing but then we'd just need to start using Escort more. So I think having areas that only certain Pokemon can unlock is good, but maybe not as many as season 2 had as there were a LOT of water places. I know we could have got the aqua gear but yeah.

What do you think needs to be changed for the next season?
I thought this season was the perfect length and had an interesting story, so nothing.

Do you have any specific things you'd like to be able to do that you can't already (tasks, abilities, actions, perks, etc)?
    Can't think of any.

If you could list five changes or additions that you think would improve Stalkers for the next round, what would they be?
Improved mission disclosure system (some thoughts posted here)

    Any other comments?
I thought the sin purge ritual worked way better this time around than in season 1. Even though we had Tashy helping this time, I feel like we did most of the work ourselves. In season 1 even though we found the items ourselves, we had no idea who the stalkers were still and it seemed like an easy win. I didn't feel like Tashy took control from us or anything. Eric gave up half his turns to protect her after all and we still had to figure out the stalkers in the end. I would also be okay with not having a sin purge ritual at all though as I feel like with all the effort to make up the stalker paths etc. we might as well follow everything through to the end and then exorcise as we go. I think knowing the identities of all the stalkers (provided there is a reasonable amount as there was in this season) should be required for the sin purge ritual. It would have been interesting to see whether we would have eliminated Yandil, after all. xD
