We made our way out of the Pokemon Center, East towards Route 203 where the wormhole was supposed to be. As we got just outside the gate, I saw Nathan blocking Renny's path with a Pokemon, however was shocked when I saw what the Pokemon was. Type: Null. He has one as well? As we approached Nathan spoke up.

"I told him if he wanted to get past without waiting for you guys, he had to beat me, but he refused." Nathan explained, "Figures..."

"Thanks Nathan." I replied, before we continued. I didn't address Renny. I needed time to think about how I am going to deal with this.

Before too long, we reached the place where the wormhole had appeared. Whilst the wormhole was long gone, there was a trainer who was clutching a Pokeball, that seemed rather shaken up, and not dressed like she was from here.

"Are you okay?" I asked her, "You're not from around here are you?"

Matthias packed up the leftovers of the meal and left to follow the alert on the Poketches. It was a little way out of town, so Matthias got ready to defend himself again if need be. He wasn't going to let any Bug type Pokemon creep up on him!

We met up with Rennie and that strange bossy kid Nathan, who had refused to let Rennie past him without challenging him to an unbeatable fight.

Matthias had known kids like Nathan all his life. Nathan had the power and he wanted to lord it over anyone who didn't. He understood Rennie's frustration all too well.

Matthias walked up to Rennie. "You did the smart thing. He is too powerful just yet, and we are just beginning. But while he is at the peak of his power, our own is just beginning to grow. When the day comes for you to put this Nathan Kid in his place, you let me know if you need a hand!"

As they approached the new trainer, Matthias sent Sniper up to scout the area, "Let me know if you see any danger!' he instructed the little bird.

Kinnie watched as Matthias spoke with Renny before sending out his bird pokemon. Then they moved on and heard a bout of yelling from a distance. Kinnie wondered if this was the person they were supposed to find who had been spat out by a wormhole similar to the one that had forced her to this region. The group got a little closer until they saw someone: a girl about the same age, muscly, and seemed to have just caught a pokemon. Otherwise, she was alone.

"Are you okay?" Sophie asked her after approaching. "You're not from around here are you?"

Kinnie watched on, curious for the girl's response. She clutched at one of her poké balls, keeping an eye out in case more wild pokemon were about to leap out of the grass. She accidentally pressed the button prematurely, and from the ball spewed white light that formed into the small form of her turtwig.

"Wiiig!" he shouted, rather excited to be out again.

Tony received his pokemon back right before the poketches went off. Then sighed as he saw Renny take off. Renny didn’t seem like a bad guy, but the way he didn’t seem to want to work as a group almost reminded him of a little kid. Almost. He understood wanting to do what you’re passionate for, but he was going to run head-first into danger without anybody to help him, he just knew it.

Tony grabbed his stuff and told Sophie he was ready when she asked, heading out with the rest of the group. Once they were out of the city, he let Zuko and Ifrit out. He contemplated letting the others out, but he wasn’t sure how they’d act yet, so he wasn’t going to risk it in this situation.

After a bit of walking they approached the new arrival. As they did so, Sophie began speaking, Matthais began scouting, and Kinnie seemed to prepare for battle as a precaution. Tony figured now would be a good time to get his first aid kit out in case the new trainer was hurt.

Renny worked on storyboards until the others showed up. He paid careful attention to the interaction between Ms. Parks and Type: Nulls trainer. Though he didn't record this moment in his mind he took a mental note. Nathan was some kind of enforcer it seemed and his new boss unsurprisingly was Parks. She was also now on two strikes of interfering with his production. He played around with the idea of this being some interesting conspiracy where Parks and Nathan were helping Rowan only to be part of Team Galatic in some way but that seemed silly. This was obviously about control and power kicks. Renny's train of thought was broken by Matthias of all people.

Renny was silent for a moment.
" Nathan appears to be the enforcer of the professor. If I were Id keep on eye on him because he is watching all of us." He paused

For a moment real determination burned in Renny's eyes
" When the time comes, Cornelius and I are going to beat him in a battle."

As the others now made there way to the spot where the wormhole was Renny's head dropped. The wormhole was long gone and for a moment he looked the obstructionists in the group and shook his head. He dropped his camera down and instead of greeting the new trainer who was being swarmed by the others he fell back to make some adjustments to camera setting and adjust for the whitewash in the open route. After his adjustments were made he pulled out the town map to add this new wormhole spot to his map. He had been careful to keep track of wormhole drops spots that people had mentioned and the two he had seen.

Palila whirled around at the sound of a voice, and immediately locked eyes with Sophie. There was a jump in her nerves as if she was going to start a battle, but nothing happened. She managed to stay still and not launch herself at the blonde - Palila was older and more bulky, but it looked like this girl had friends.

"No freakin' -Sitrus-berry-, I'm not from here!" She censored herself and tried to shrug off the cold, unsure of the ages of some of these other kids. Some of them looked pretty small and weedy- though there was a couple of older ones at the back.

As Matthias sent a pokemon out into the air, and Kinnie let out her turtwig, Palila took a step back.
"You're a bunch'a trainers, yeah?" She didn't really need confirmation "What do you want?" She demanded, eyes flitting from trainer to trainer.
Clearly being sucked through a portal had made her a little tense.

This trainer was obviously p***ed off, and the situation was getting a little out of hand.

"We may have some answers for you." I explained, "We are heading to Orebourgh City, so if you want to tag along, we might be able to help you out."

As I explained this to the new trainer, something took the attention of the other trainers.

Kinnie frowned a little at the small grass type that had emerged from his ball before being summoned. Hannig, on the other hand, seemed to have little regard for Kinnie's thoughts as he bounced about, apparently excited to taste the afternoon air.

He galloped over to the new girl, who was conversing briefly with Sophie, and widened his smile. "Tur-wur!"

Kinnie elected to ignore him and moved past the group, wanting to ensure they weren't about to be ambushed by pokemon, only to be met with exactly what she had anticipated.

A group of creatures emerged from bushes and tall grass, some of them making small peeps as they showed themselves. While Hannig was distracted, one of the bug types launched itself at him, knocking him off his stubby feet and tussling with him across the dirt. The two skidded and came apart, both pokémon shooting back up and facing each other with sudden aggression.

"Do not let down your guard," Kinnie advised to her pokémon, reaching into her bag and pulling out one of the two poké balls she still had. 'Should have restocked,' she thought to herself.

Hannig let out a small grumble.

The grass type kept the opposing pokemon busy just long enough for Kinnie to aim a poké ball at it and capture it before Hannig was injured. Once the pokemon was captured, Kinnie opened her Pokedex and discovered its species: a kricketot.

While she was busy looking up further details, her pokemon ran up to her and pawed at her boot with a blunt foot. She looked down, mostly uninterested, but kept her gaze fixed on him when he began to grow with a bright light.

When the light finally dimmed, Hannig was considerably bigger. His anatomy changed, he looked very different, and when he looked up at Kinnie and gave a grunt, his voice was a bit deeper. Kinnie found herself with a small smile on her face. Something in her chest almost felt as if it grew a little and she breathed out in disbelief. He had worked hard, and he had evolved.

She reached a hand down to his head, which was covered by yellow armour stretching across the length of his back. "Well earned."

As Tony was getting his first-aid kit out, he was tackled by a shinx, which knocked him over. As he looked up, he saw the shinx charging up an electric attack. Tony sent in Zuko and had him fire off an ember in order to distract the cat-like pokemon while he grabbed his pokeball. Tony managed to hit the pokemon right before it released the attack, forcing it into the pokeball.

The newcomer through the portal seemed defensive, which was fair enough and meant she was smart enough to sense a bad situation when she fell into one.

Matthias was going to introduce himself when Sniper let out a cry of alarm from above. Something was coming.

The long grass started to rustle and two Pokemon jumped out at Tony and Kinnie. They used their own Pokemon to weaken and capture the encroaching Pokemon.

The bushed near Matthias were shaking. Something was coming through. This was his chance to prove to the assembled trainers that he had what it took to catch a Pokemon and truly belong. He wondered what it could be? A dragon type? Perhaps a psychic. The excitement inside was growing until the bushes parted and...

"Ewww! No no Nope! Not gonna happen! That thing is gross! Get it away from me!"

The Kricketot bared it's viscous, venomous and diseased fangs at Matthias. It had death in its eyes. Death aimed straight at Matthias' soul.

"Get rid of it, Instinct!" Matthias reached into his bag and grabbed what he thought was Instinct's ball. She had taken down one of these gross bugs before and could do it again.

Unfortunately, due to his failure to label his Poke-ball, Matthias threw out an empty ball which landed next to the Kricketot and opened to pull the Bug inside the ball.

"No no no no no!" Matthias said as the ball flashed three times and then laid still.

He had caught one of those gross things. Yuck!

Not taking any chances Matthias found some string in his backpack and wrapped it many times around the Pokeball. He tied it securely. He didn't want that monster getting out!
