The darkness was different now - before, Old Lace had seen it as much another obstacle. Despite the paranoia of Yaru, despite the fear prevalent in every nook and cranny of the town, in every face, be it traveler or local, the darkness was simply an object. Objects could be ignored or pushed through, and Old Lace treated the night as he treated a bad storm - with a stiff upper proboscis and a heart full of muscles and iron.

    Not anymore, now.

To combat the darkness, he would need a weapon of light. On the news of Madder's disappearance, the Buzzwole simply gave a dark glance to the Lopunny who had been leading the charge. He took up a weapon, a rod of light, that glowing in the darkness seemed more akin to a revolver, shining the night, an echo of what Old Lace's life had been long ago. Muscles or no, fear of the dark or no, he was a lawman.

Action: Equip the Rod of Light, then participate in the rescue mission to save Madder.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Let me crunch down on one of those Enigma Berries. I have no idea what I'm dealing with...

The Vessels of Banishment are brought and shown to us, now that each one is purified and we know what each one truly is. Offered to us to be wielded as weapons, we cautiously consider, then select our most suited implements.

    Equip: Crusader Spear

It is an empowering moment. I am beyond hope for those citizens already reaped by the Stalkers, and the guilt of their deaths and damnation falls, in part, on me. It's heavy. But it was all in pursuit of this. Without us, without me, Yaru would have been doomed. I must remind myself that, no matter what could have been, we are making a difference... This world was already lost when we arrived. The Emissaries are here only to do what they can to try to Salvage... Salvage Keep.

    Battle Stance: Fight

With the Crusader Spear in claw, I leave the Emissary Quarters with the others. Walking in a group, I, Lillian, Dracobolt, and Old Lace meet Bixas the Pinsir, and with Lillian at the point, beg him to teach us to Rescue.

    Learn: Rescue/Escape

Old Lace observes the lesson, lending beginner's expertise and gearing up for the missions ahead, and Lillian supplements with how it feels to be on the other side - her own experience as an amateur Escapee. And then we go our separate ways. The Sheriff and Battle-Bunny begin tracking Anxia to Payload's lair, and I pull Dracobolt aside. "You and I," I tell him before he has time to scurry away, "are going to save Brass."

    Rescue: Brass the Braixen

Dracobolt has been flighty and excitable. He's been frivolous and impatient. Even now, he seems to have somehow found time to broker a deal with a wandering mercenary to come along on this mission. It's unnecessary, but I can't fault him for trying so hard. I only hope he got a good deal - no need to brief somebody for a one-time thing.

Despite Dracobolt's general demeanor, I feel confident about the Rescue. We both wield Banishing Vessels. We both are fresh on our skills. We know that Brass was attacked and bested by a Water Type, like me, and while that limits my effectiveness should we meet the same Disciple of Repose, it nearly un-limits Draco's.

We both have our own way of tracking through water: the Pikachu can conduct energy through it, and I sense the life-stuff innately, as though this body was born to rely on it.

"Make sure you pay attention to the direction we're going," I tell my companion. "I want to be able to come back here later and search for clues."

Alright, First things first I gotta munch on these berries. 1 Sitrus berry, 2 Spelon, and 2 Starf berries should bring me to tip top shape.

After a fine snack I shall make my way downtown to speak with Willow, I need to tell them about this underground drug trade going on. This information isn't free though, Those darn drug traders have a certain Utopian item the other emissaries and myself have been looking for and I would very much appreciate it if we were given it as soon as these criminals are captured. I'll have to discuss the matter diplomatically with Willow while I've got their attention.

I will quickly eat berries to restore health, then go with Adrian to talk to Willow.

After that, I will eat an enigma berry, equip the Starhail Staff and investigate Krenta's body.

(I hope I'm doing this right...)
    (You're totally doing this right!)

Lita has avoided the followers of the Abyss...

To stay safe, you decide to eat one of the Enigma Berries to protect yourself from any outside threats, especially considering how the Abyss Hunter attacks went down during the daylight hours. You also decide to learn Forge, and you take the necessary materials needed to help create some items that can be used at a future time. You feel it will be quite a bit of training involved, but the outcome of it all will definitely be very beneficial.

Heading out into the night, you make your way toward Disaster Defence and meet with Kannari the Rhydon. Business tonight has been slow, so when she sees you, she perks up and when you tell her you'd like to learn Forge, she smiles. You've definitely made her night.

"Absolutely," she tells you graciously. "It's going to be quite an experience, trust me!"

She gets you started quickly, first working with how to smelt metals and then use molds to create simple components like chain links, rings, and other basic shapes and tools. The heat seems stifling at first, but you get used to it. You find the experience enjoyable as you shape and manipulate the metals into whatever you like. If you had more time, you feel you could even be quite artistic with it, but you decide to keep it focused on function tonight.

Moving on from that, as part of the deal, you help make some merchandise for Kannari as part of the training agreement using her materials. It seems to come naturally and it even feels a bit fun to take raw materials and create something unique out of them. She comments that you learn quickly and don't need too much guidance.

After several hours of painstaking chain-linking, you manage to create a well-crafted suit of chainmail armor, which as nice and as impressive as it is, it ends up going on the store shelves instead of in your own pack, but it convinces Kannari that you're ready to turn the materials you have into usable goods.

You start with the Clear Gem Dust, and you compile the powder into a spherical mold. Then, holding it over the forge fire, you melt the powder into shape. Every now and then, you reopen the mold, add some more of the dust, close the mold, and repeat until the solidified gem now takes up the entirety of the mold space. Once it's done, you then dip it into water, instantly cooling it as it creates a cloud of steam. You create two more Gems using this same method, and it becomes second nature to you by the time you finish.

Next, you move onto the ores. Kannari shows you exactly how to melt them down, remove the impurities, and then shape them into pure ingots that can be used for other purposes. As with the Orbs, you find yourself learning quickly and effectively and feel convinced you'd be able to do this on your own.

Finally, she gives you the opportunity to create two Gem Headbands. Using two of the padded strips for each one, you weave the strips together and imbue the green gems into them. The process is fairly straightforward, but at the end of it, you feel content and proud of the new creations you have made.

    Lita has learned Forge!

[M: Clear Gem Dust] x2 has become [M: Clear Gem]
[M: Green Gem Dust] x2 has become [M: Green Gem]
[M: Blue Gem Dust] x2 has become [M: Blue Gem]
[M: Iron Ore] x6 has become [M: Iron Ingot] x3
[M: Titanium Ore] x4 has become [M: Titanium Ingot] x2

[E: Green Gemstone Headband (+2 Max Sanity)] x2 has been created.

Pleased and proud of your work, you thank Kannari and she thanks you in return. You then head back to base with your new creations, confident you'll be able to handle Forging on your own when the time comes.

After hearing about the death of Yris, you decide to complete his revival as soon as possible. While you are unable to retrieve his body, you know that task isn't entirely necessary as he will have to be revived into a new form. You just need to use your Seinaru to reach out to his spirit and call back to it.

Blessed with the power of Seinaru, you head outside just a few steps away from Emissary base and you focus on your holy energies and create a glowing white field of revival for Yris to be called into. It pierces the night and the shadows, giving way to a life-giving energy of restoration. Having had plenty of experience using this power upon the eyes of corruption, you find it rather easy to wield it for restoration purposes.

"As I call upon you, Utopia, hear my plea and bring back our fallen friend and ally. Our work here is not yet done..."

For his own protection, you understand that Yris cannot be revived to his former Ultra Necrozma form. He must take on a new one to appear to be a completely new Emissary to the Abyss to keep the mission concealed and to keep them mislead. While his spirit will still be the same and he will retain all of his memories, his form must appear to be unrelated to the one he had before. Despite the arrangement, you agree, and the cry out to his spirit is sent out...

    ...and is answered.

In a flash of holy, life-giving light, the white, glowing form takes shape as Yris's spirit is implanted into this new form. Once the light fades, what Yris has become is soon revealed and is now reawaked, ready to continue the mission to save Yaru.

Yris has been revived as a Luxray!

If I can delay this action so it happen after Madder’s turn and all the
items are prepared, then I’ll go to Kannari to learn Forge, then use my
new ability to complete the Altar.

If that is not possible for any reason then I will instead use Medicine
to restore 4 sanity to Old Lace, and 4 purity to Truly. (If either of
those pokemon are unable to be healed for some reason then I will
channel all the extra points in Madder’s Purity and barring that
    Mistee’s Health.)

    BUY
    - 1x [titanium ore]

Now that the team inventory had enough supplies to make an iron dagger, a titanium dagger, plus a couple of headbands as well as enough macroweed for the pure cloth, she figured that ought to be enough supplies for now.

    Next, she goes to Bixas.
"Hey! Have you heard there is going to be a comedy show on, that Dimfred is running?" She tries to lighten the mood, but then gets down to it.
"It seems there is more I can learn from you, Bixas. Would you teach me how to rescue others? I need to rescue a friend, tonight."
Once she learns how to rescue, Lillian will set out with the intention to rescue Madder. Hopefully another pokemon with the skill will join in!
Lillian has avoided the followers of the Abyss...

Knowing time is of the essence, you quickly head to buy one nugget of [Titanium Ore], and then you head to Bixas. He certainly hasn't forgotten about you!

"You again!" Bixas exclaims, looking quite displeased as the Pinsir wears a scowl. "Don't tell me you're here for another battle, because...!"

"Hey!" you call back to him, lightening the mood with your smile. "Have you heard there is going to be a comedy show on that Dimfred is running?"

"What the...!? Dimfred?" he asks, looking baffled. "What's he got to... are you even listening to me!?"

"It's a comedy show, silly!" You laugh, playfully booping him between the eyes with your paw. "You know what those are, right? Why not watch it? You look like you could use a few laughs!"

He gets a little comically irked, especially considering the humbling you gave him earlier, but he decides not to get too caught up. There are other Pokémon watching and he quickly straightens himself up to not look like you're getting to him again.

"Of course I know what a comedy show is!" he exclaims, but quickly composing himself. "What, do you believe I might think I'm too snooty for that? Of course not, I know how to enjoy humor every once in a while! I'll be there! I'll prove I'm not some stuck-up twit!"

    MISSION UPDATED: Spread the Word

You have a feeling a few chuckles would be good for him. He looks like he could use them.

"Good, because I need your help with something else," you approach him sincerely. "It seems there is more I can learn from you, Bixas. Would you teach me how to rescue others? I need to rescue a friend tonight."

"You!?" he exclaims before composing himself. "Well, it would be doing your friend a favor. If they're in trouble, then we need to work quickly."

He doesn't waste a whole lot of time and gets serious about it quickly, first giving you the rundown of what it means to conduct a search and rescue. He goes over the psychology behind it, giving you the details to understand and profile the captor, and then use that information and any evidence found to understand their mentality. A lot of it involves being very focused, being very alert, and not being too hasty. You learn it takes a lot of using all the senses, hearing, sight, feeling, and intuition.

He also goes through the fundamentals of tracking them down, keeping an eye out for signs, and using the surrounding environment to give yourself a clearer picture. From there, you're able to get a better idea of how to follow them down starting from where the captive was first apprehended.

    Lillian has learned Rescue/Escape!

When you feel you have enough of a grasp on the concept, you take that knowledge to the place where Madder was last heading. You mention his plan was to speak to Papritz, and with that information, you start with Starplace Gems and you managed to get a lead on who the assailant was. In fact, you even discern it down to the point where you realize the Abyss Hunter in question is a Charmander.

You now have the lead you need to begin the search for Madder, and you now feel you're in pursuit.
