The Sun and Moon is coming together for one ultimate finale!
That is because prereleases for Cosmic Eclipse are going to be coming during the second half of October! The final Sun & Moon era set is about to be release in the United States with plenty of powerful new cards! The introduction of Tag Team Supports along with a new Tag Team GX mechanic will make this set unlike any that came before it!
Cosmic Eclipse Prerelease will be the last two weekends of October from the 19th to 27th.
If you attend an Unified Minds Prerelease then you will receive one of four special art promos of cards from the set. These cards will be Blacephalon, Buzzwole, Phione and Entei.
Blacephalon

This may be the final set with Ultra Beasts and if Blacephalon is any indication then they are going to go out with a bang! Blacephalon is a Psychic type Pokemon that can normally put down four damage counters on your opponent’s Pokemon. Though, if your opponent has three prizes left then Blacephalon can put down twelve damage counters with a single attack! That can be enough to take knockouts on weaker Pokemon.
Blacephalon will most likely see a lot of play in a Prerelease format where there is only four prizes. After all, you can power up a Blacephalon on the bench and allow your opponent to take a knockout. From there you can strike back with vengeance thanks to Blacephalon’s Fireworks Bomb!
Buzzwole

Buzzwole is another strong Ultra Beast that could see some great play outside of Prerelease formats. That is because of the his Beast Boost ability. This ability allows Buzzwole to do an extra twenty damage for each Prize card you have taken.
That can make Buzzwole’s Touchdown attack do 80 more damage if you have taken four prizes. If you include other damage modifiers then this could be a pretty powerful Basic Pokemon.
Phione

You will not see Phione be used to attack. Instead you will see it for her Whirlpool Suction. This ability allows you to discard Phione and then your opponent can switch their active Pokemon with another on the Bench. This can be used to force your opponent to put an unwanted Pokemon into the active. From there you can either knockout it out or stall your opponent as you set up a stronger attacker.
Entei

Entei may not be much but it can be a powerful single Prize attacker when combined with other cards like Welder. It can become a solid revenge attacker or simply do a solid 100 damage when needed. There isn’t much to say about Entei except that it can be useful.
Cosmic Eclipse Prerelease will be the weekend of October 19th to the 27th!*You can find your local prereleases by*clicking here.
Best of luck in your pulls!
