It's preposterous how small they are. XD In my mind they're certainly bigger. 9/10 though; I adore all the nidoran.

    #067 Machoke

It is very rare for me to like Fighting-type Pokemon all that much, and Machoke here is not one of the exceptions. I don't dislike it or anything but I don't like it all that much either. Anyway, Machoke is still a fairly decent Pokemon combat-wise so those wanting to use it will more often than not be rewarded, though it is a shame that it's a Pokemon that evolves via trade, since you need a partner to obtain the stronger final form. There is one tidbit about Machoke that is pretty disturbing, though, as supposedly the muscles in its arms are so huge that Machoke's skin can barely contain them... that sure explains the red streaks on its arms...

I like Machoke, we had some good times in Johto beating up gym leaders. Plus you could get a Machamp in Yellow Version from an in-game trade. My big question though is, where is his tumy? Is it under the belt?

I like machoke. I don't know that I'd choose to use one above other things, but I have used them in the past temporarily and they're cool! 6.5/10.

This ain’t no Super Macho Man. Noooo. Honestly I prefer the design to this stage than Machamp. Machamp takes on the stereotype that 4 arms means more strength, when that wouldn’t always be true. Machamp is pretty strong just with its own two arms. Combat wise it can pack a punch; no pun intended. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve used one, but it’s been a nice contender in the past.

    #744 Rockruff

    my rating: 8
Adorable little rock puppy is adorable. Just look at its darling little face! It's also said to nuzzle the people it likes affectionately, which can be a little bit painful when you remember this guy has a natural rock collar. Rockruff seems to be based on the extinct Hawaiian Poi dog breed, which explains its unusual typing of Rock, though that may also have something to do with Poi Dogs also being used as a food source, so Rockruff may have become Rock-type to be less palatable. Another possible explanation lies on an old custom in which Hawaiian children were given a Poi puppy as a companion at birth; if they outlived the dog, then the animal's teeth would be made into a collar for the child to wear (this, incidentally, could explain where Rockruff's rock collar design comes from), but if the child died before the dog did, then the dog would be killed to be buried alongside its child. Rockruff also has a few traits with spitz-type of dog breeds, most notably in its fluffy curved tail and high energy and intelligence. It also evolves into wolves which is an interesting reversal of real life wolves evolving into dogs, though it might also be a reference to dogs becoming wild and feral when left to their own devices like what happened with dingoes. Rockruff is overall a very interesting and very adorable creature.
