Don’t touch that Totodile! It is Pokemon Podcast Appreciation Month!
I Chews You: Mareep– One of our most popular episodes that holds a special place in our hearts is the 50th episode spectacular featuring Mareep. Not only are all the recipes top-notch, but we did a special Pokedex quiz segment that had the La Croix Boys stumped. It’s a great introduction to the show for newbies but also a fun celebration for day-one fans.
Luke Loves Pokemon: Jynx and Family– Mikey: This one of Luke’s longest episodes. It breaks down why Luke loves Pokemon and where faith has led him. Though, he worked so hard on this episode by doing his research and gathering guests. All of this out of respect for Jynx and conversation surrounding the African American community. And you can hear it.
EXP. Share: [Ruby & Sapphire] Littleroot Town, Oldale Town, Petalburg Woods, Rustboro City, & Stone Badge*[EXPLICIT]– Mikey: If you want a good idea what it is like to listen to EXP. Share then this is your episode. You get to hear Joshua and Tanner work from the ground up as they build their narrative for their trainers as they journey though the Hoenn region. You can really hear the creativity.
The Science of Pokemon: Madam Butterfree– Professor Collins and Fisherman Don interview Entomologist and PhD candidate Lydia Fyie and discuss moths and butterflies. They try to understand the differences between a moth and butterfly, what role they play in the ecosystems they live in, and then what their lives are like. The group then takes a look at six of our favorite butterfly and moth Pokemon. They look at the influences behind the Pokemon, what the games get wrong, and what amazing adaptations they have in the real world.
This is a great episode for any first time listener. The content is very accessible to listeners of all backgrounds and ages.
Silph Radio: Pokemon Creepypasta III (With Craig Lewis)– Mikey: Go ahead and join Nathan as he goes over some creepy stories by children! Some of these are really good and some of them are…Scary as in how they are written. Either way, Nathan and Craig are going to read them all and give you their commentary.
Bracket Racket: Mega Evolutions Part 1– This is part one of the first multi-part episode we’ve done and where it feels like the formula of our show really started to click into place. Plus Mega Evolutions is a great topic, a big change in the formula similar to the Z-Moves and Dynamaxing. Everyone has opinions about Mega Evolutions, you either hate them or love them and there’s a lot of interesting designs.
Podcast Monsters: Holiday Delibird-y!– Snuggle up and get ready for some Christmas in July! Grace and Nathanael are breaking out of the norm and talking about all the Christmas-ly Pokemon! Rating them one at a time. Giving you what you can expect from Podcast Monsters with some Christmas magic!
Pay Day: Durgens and Kermurdering– I’d have to say episode 3 of our reboot! The May episode! We had Anna on for the first time and it had been so long since I had spoken to her so that was a lot of fun, I think you can hear a shift in enthusiasm! Anna is a great sport and she is now a permanent member of the Pay Day crew!
My Favorite Pokemon: Shannon and Mew– Janine and Locke has the famous Shannon on their show! Together they talk about her favorite Pokemon, Mew! It is a fun episode where Janine and Locke just go crazy over this cute cat Pokemon that Shannon loves so much. From crazy Mew pillows to just wacky things you could do with Mew.
