It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for Crossroads Comics!

This week we’ll be taking a look at Ghost Theater. This comic is a Webtoon original that focuses on a girl named Rahee Ku. Originally a diva actress, after a traumatic accident, she finds herself unable to make any sort of facial expressions. Just when her acting career seems over, Rahee discovers the Ghost Theater and finds that by being possessed by a ghost, she can experience emotions once again. After bargaining with the two mysterious folks in charge, Rahee manages to become a member of their crew. But what is it exactly that they do?
The Ghost Theater serves as a place for ghosts stuck in limbo to move on to the afterlife. If they can make peace with those in their past lives, they are able to move on. But, if they fail, they’ll be doomed to disappear forever. It makes for an interestingly high stakes operation since the story does well to make you attached to each and every character that you encounter. It is important to note that while the stories can be graphic and sometimes dark, they are all very interesting. They show different dimensions to all the characters involved and what they are willing to sacrifice in order to achieve their goals.
While we haven’t seen a ton on Rahee and the other main characters, with the focus mostly being on the various ghosts that are serviced throughout the story. That said, the ending of the most recent chapter seems to imply we will see more depth and dimensions to these characters in the coming updates. How that will take shape is unclear, but we will just have to wait and see.
It’s also important to note that this story exists in a shared universe with two other webcomics, Refund High School and Ghost Teller. While it is not necessary to read either of these webcomics to understand Ghost Theater, occasionally Ghost Theater will make nods to the other stories. Thus, if you’re interested in reading something us by the same author, but perhaps in a different genre, then one of these two other stories may suit your fancy.
And while we’re at it be sure to check out the rest of the comics in this week’s lineup!
