It would appeared there were more people around then Moon had originally thought, and each of them wasted no time jumping into the fray. Moon looked over at her new Squirtle, the turtle wearing a determined expression, eyeing the Drowsee.

"Let us attempt Bubble!" Squirtle took a few moments to respond, but ended up releasing a small stream of bubbles toward the psychic types.

The brunette was left wondering how bubbles could have offensive purpose, however, they hit the foes, the pops seeming effective. It must get damage in with those bursts, somehow.

"Commendable, Shelly"

Moon had no idea where that name had come from; it wasn't one she'd had in mind and seemed hardly original for a turtle. However, it rolled so smoothly off the tongue and it instantly felt like a good match. Plus, Squirtle seemed to respond well to it, sealing the deal.

"Hey, is this the Pokemon La-" I began as I walked in the door. I was somewhat shocked to see the main room full of trainers with Pokemon battling Drowzee, and some strange pokemon that looked like an Alakazam. "Damn, if this is what being a Professor is like, I am in the wrong line of work. What is going on?"

Rose wasn't even sure what was going on. She was scared. She didn't know any of the people around her, and there was fighting going on everywhere she could sense. Still though, she couldn't deny that that boy had saved her. He must have been a good person. She would try to stay near him. She walked to the professor and took a Pokeball. Releasing the Pokemon inside, she sensed that it was like the one the boy had used to help her.


"Char?"

"You're a Charmander, right?" Rose asked, as if expecting the Pokemon to speak back to her She knew it wouldn't though. She also knew that there was a group of vaguely humanoid Pokemon that others were fighting nearby. "Come with me!" She said to it, running towards the Drowzee. Suddenly she paused. She didn't know what moves the fire type would know. "Umm... Use flamethrower!" She said to it nervously. It looked up at her, confused. "Well... Can you just hit it or something?" She asked it. The fire type paused for a moment, and then it moved. It charged at the nearest Drowzee, and when it was close, swung it's hand down. scratching it with it's claws. "Do that again!" Rose shouted.

Mega Alakazam continued its work moving the escaped pokemon in the area back. Max looked at Brandon.
"Make sure the main gate is closed." He said.

Meghan ran up next to Brandon.
"Ill help you." she said walking with Brandon. The main gate was a little heavy so it was going to take both to put it back in place.

Finally all the pokemon in the surrounding area had been collected. Alakazam reverted back to its normal form and Max helped the others get the last of the defeated pokemon back in. Professor Oaks assistants cleaned up the rest collecting the injured pokemon. As they did that Professor Oak called over all the trainers.

"Please everyone come join me." Professor Oak said.
"It's time we had ourselves a proper introduction."

"Don't forget me!" Davis said loudly as he ran in the door puffed out. The gentle giant was pretty fit, but when his alarm didn't go off and he woke up hours later than expected, he had a hell of a run ahead of him. The first thing he heard was professor Oak offering an introduction. "Sorry I'm so late. Won't happen again."

The 6 ft 3 giant took a second to catch his breath and made his way into the crowd of trainers, standing next to a girl with light brown hair and a heart necklace (@Eternity) practically towering over her.

Zenith sighed as the last of the Drowzee were defeated. "That was crazy... good thing I have some battling experience..." she said.

"Bulb, bulba," Qeb said.

Zenith looked around. "I wonder where that Eevee went to..." she said.

Just then, Professor Oak called for everyone to gather around for proper introductions, and Zenith walked over. "Professor Oak, what was up with those Drowzee?"

With the Pokemon all settled down and the chaos abated, Rocky followed the Professor who suggested proper introductions. He was still in awe of the Mega Alakazam that had been used to settle down the Pokemon. Even working at the gym in Canalave, he had never seen power like that.

The trainers gathered together, when suddenly another trainer ran. The new trainer was surprisingly large. Rocky wasn't used to seeing people who could equal him in size.

As they got ready for the official introductions, Rocky pulled out his business card.

As they waited for the Professor , Rocky looked around at the other trainers. He saw a golden ticket sticking out of one of the other trainer's pockets, and realised that these others were not just fellow trainers. They were his competition in this tournament. he resolved to study them and learn their strengths and weaknesses. This was just like back playing Football at school, tactics and forward planning would see him through.

The statement belonged in a children's cartoon, but it appeared that the use of team work had settled the situation. The combined effort of the rookie trainers (and judging from the Mega, not-rookie trainers as well) prevailed and order was restored. Calm, however, made for a poor choice in descriptors for the new set of circumstances. Most, if not all, of those gathered today were eager for the next step in their journey.

Moon's face didn't show much enthusiasm, however. She appeared cool, if not a bit stoic. The usual facial feature fare. Through, there was no denying the tinge of excitement within. This would make her stronger, and hopefully...

She didn't finish the thought, instead bringing her attention to the presence felt beside her. The young man had come in proceeding the action, offering an apology and coming to stand at her side. He was quite tall in height, and the brunette was almost dwarfed as a result. Her hazel eyes rested on him for a moment, before going to one of the girls whom had inquired about the Drowsee.

Oaks face was read as he watched his assistants clean up the chaos around the area.
" Today has been a very odd day..about an hour ago I was preparing the new trainer kits for all of you when something spooked the pokemon. I know that pokemon are far more perceptive to the world around us so I rushed to my computer to see if there was a storm coming. After searching I found nothing..So I went out to see the pokemon and thats when I saw it.



"A strange pokemon I could not identify. I tried to get my sketch book in time but only came up with this crudely drawn image. Before I knew it, it was gone." Oak shows the image but its to poor to recognize. "This pokemon was unlike anything I've ever seen..So I rushed out of the office to see where it went. Still confused I came back in and started to do some research when all of sudden the cages were all opened..not only that the gate was open and thats about the time all of you luckily showed up. As my thanks Id like you all to keep the starter pokemon you used. This will be a good first bounding experience. I will have my assistant pass out the start up kit."

As the packages were handed out. Oak continued.

" Sadly, we didnt collect all the missing pokemon. I have the completed list here and I need a favor..Id like your help in collecting the missing pokemon." Oak looked over the group.

Max stepped up.
" I can take the group and head and track down the pokemon, Oak. If you can track down legends you can track day care pokemon." Max said a little arrogance in his voice.

Professor Oak nodded
"Ruby, youll do fine." He paused.
" I would like you all to follow Ruby..I mean Max here ahead. He is a very skilled trainer and one of the reason most of you are here. Max is the most recent Hoenn Pokemon League Champ. You could learn some valuable tips..just try not to let his ego lead the way." Oak laughed.

"Any questions before you go ??" Oak asked

When Professor Oak began explaining about how his Pokemon got out, I tuned out, and noticed one of the lab assistants who was handing out Pokemon. Exactly what I came for. I snuck aside and moved to the assistant. When she was free, I moved over to her and spoke.

"Rough morning eh?" I said with a grin, "Wasn't expecting to see pandemonium when I walked in the door."

"Anyway, I came here to choose my starter Pokemon." I said, "My name is Ethan Wright. I applied online a little while back for a Charmander?"

Once I had the Pokeball, I let the charmander out, and looked down at it. It looked at me in awe. It was still quite young.

"First things first we have to name you, little guy. What do you think of Spike, or Drake?" I said. The charmanders expression turned to anger after I said those words. It spat a small ember at my feet. Suddenly I realized where I went wrong.

"But your not little guy are you?" I said slowly. Charmander started to grin. "What about Cynder?"

Cynder continued to smile, so the name stuck.

In my peripheral vision, I noticed the small girl next to me look up at me for a moment. I looked over gave her a brief smile. As I looked over I noticed the guy who came in before me walk over to an assistant and receive a Charmander. As the trainer spoke with his new Pokemon, I moved over and handed the assistant my forms. She responded by handing me a Pokeball.

I let the Squirtle I requested out of it's Pokeball. The first thing it did was tackle the other trainers Charmander.

"Crap, I am so sorry!" I said to the other trainer, grabbing my new Pokemon off his, who looked rather shocked. "I had no idea he was like that when I let him out."

"Don't worry about it." He said calmly, "You had no way of knowing, and Cynder doesn't seem hurt. Just a little shaken up."

I was glad the trainer was so calm about it. I held the squirtle in front of me.

"After that display I think I will call you Brutus." I said. However before anything else happened I noticed something strange about the other trainer. His posture and mannerisms were near identical to my own. He was even tapping his foot like I was. At the exact same tempo. It was like we were two puppets controlled by the same puppetmaster.

When I zoomed back into reality, I made my way back to where I was standing before.
