"Well if it isnt my old sparing partner and rival.." Steven paused
"I heard you were in Kanto..figured you ran away because you feared a rematch old friend. However I have to thank you without you running around causing trouble and helping destroy towns Hoenn has been been pretty silent. We are working with CYCLONE Institute and the famous Doctor Bean on some pretty exciting stuff. Specifically with beans two top assitants Ginji Amano and Levi Roberts. Beldum just looked at the trainer oddly has he took off. It floated out the door after him. Max hid behind on a tree.

Altea breathed a sigh of relief when Max got them all more time to train. She let out her team, who were excited to be outside, so they could warm up. Altea already had her best team with her, so as everyone entered the Pokemon Center, she stayed behind. It seemed like Sloane wanted to train alone, so Altea thought she could have her Pokemon spar with each other for practice instead. Although she had no idea what they could be going up against, she thought it would be best to stick to what she knew. She and her Pokemon lingered outside the Pokemon Center, trying to think of a strategy for the upcoming battle.

"Alright guys, we're going to just train as if we're going against the next gym." Altea sent Vermillion and Citrine to practice first.

"Citrine, I want you to practice your Thundershock at Vermillion, even though you won't be able to see him. It'll help in case Misty's water Pokemon decide to hide underwater," Altea instructed. "Vermillion, use Smokescreen! Tackle when you see an opening."

Her Charmeleon filled the area with a dense smoke, while Mareep looked a bit uncertain but nodded.

"When you think you can sense Vermillion, use Thunder Shock!" Altea added.

"Mareep!" The wooly Pokemon called, as it sent out several bolts into the smoke. When the Smokescreen started to clear, it was evident Mareep had missed. Vermillion ran out from the smoke and tackled Citrine straight on.

"It's alright Citrine, now focus. Let's try again. You know what to do Vermillion!" Altea ordered. "This time send out Cotton Spore in the area and try to detect where Vermillion is when he's slowed."

Mareep sprinkled the smoke with fluffy spores and concentrated. Listening for movement, it let out a Thunder Shock to its left.

"A hit! You did it!" Altea cheered.

"Mareeee!" As they celebrated, Citrine began to glow, and in a few seconds it had evolved into a Flaaffy.

"Wow, Citrine, that was great! Vermillion, you too." Altea smiled as she hugged her Pokemon. "Let's go get you healed up a bit and we'll practice some more."


As they turned to enter the Pokemon center, Max ran out from the automatic doors. Altea stepped aside to let him pass. A second later, a Beldum floated by.

"I wonder what that was about," she thought, looking at her Pokemon as they continued into the Pokemon Center. Altea spotted Sou near the PC's and walked over to her, wondering what she was doing.

Zenith had been relaxing with her pokemon when Max suddenly came bursting out of the Pokemon Center, hiding behind a tree. A moment later, a Beldum then floated over to him. Zenith blinked at this. She had never seen him react to a pokemon like that before.

"Max, you okay?" Zenith called, walking over. She smiled at Beldum. "Hey there, Beldum." she said, slowly reaching over and gently petting it.

"Saur, Ivaysaur!" Qeb said in greeting to Beldum.

"Breath breath breath..." Max said. This illogical fear he had of this pokemon and their final stage always triggered the memory. One he hate thinking about and one that always reminded him of why pokemon journeys are dangerous. As the little floating steel type got closer. Max looked around grabbing the pokeball and nervously picked it up. He spun around to see Zenith standing their petting it which threw him off.
"Return.." He said in a shaky voice trying to play it off.

He took a couple of deep breaths and tried his best to move past it. He felt really stupid at this point.


"There is a field further up it looks like. Will battle each other first for practice.." he said under his breath turning and trying to walk away from having to respond.

Sloane backflipped out of the way of Clarent's next attack and landed on her right leg, her left left wrapped around it. She held out her hands. "Alright, take a break for now guys." Sloane lifted up her bandanna and sat down on the ground. She sighed as she looked up towards the sky. She heard Clarent land nearby, the Pokemon conversing amongst themselves. Sloane stood up after a moment, all her Pokemon looking up at her. "Alright, spar amongst yourselves, Arondight, come here. I'll work with you first." She held up her arms in an x formation. "Quick attack, right here."

Sou watched as Max went onto the PC and looked over towards the others, looking at each one of them before moving to sit down in a chair. After settling herself there she could hear a voice coming from the PC and looked over curiously, wondering who the voice belonged to. From the sounds of it, it had to be some friend of Max’s and turned, attempting to ignore it as it might be personal. The person talked loud enough though, so she still picked up bits and pieces when she heard Max call out, snapping her out of attempt to tune out the sounds around her. She looked back to see Max standing away from the computer and what appeared to be a Beldum floating in front of him, she smiled. ”Oh! A beldum. We had some of those come into the center sometimes. He seems like a friendly little guy too” she muttered with a smile only for it to turn to confusion when Max ran out of the center yelling out some guy named “Steven”. She couldn’t help but stand from her seat and walk over out of curiosity as the Beldum floated after him. Zenith appeared to be perfectly content as she sat there and petted the little guy, Max hiding behind a tree outside. She tilted her head and giggled a bit before heading back to the PC not long before Altea came over. ”Hey Altea. I’m about to check on my pokemon in the PC. What you up to?” she asked.

She checked up on her PC and stood up. ”Why don’t we head outside?” she said with a smile.

"Looks like we should join everyone outside," Altea agreed. She adjusted her cape and after retrieving her Pokemon from the nurse, left the Pokemon Center along side Sou. The group gathered outside on the impromptu battlefield.

"A practice match sounds great!" Altea answered cheerfully.

She turned to Sloane, "So, it's going to be our first battle; even if it's just for practice, I'm not going to lose!" Altea said with a look of determination.

"Let's show everyone how strong you've all gotten," Altea whispered to her Pokeballs.

Sloane slid back a little ways and smiled at Arondight. "Nice one Arondight! You're really starting to pack a punch eh?" Sloane glanced over her shoulder when she heard Max calling and returned everyone except Carwennan to their Pokeballs. She walked back to where everyone seemed to be congregating. Her arms were covered in scrapes and bruises from working with Arondight but otherwise Sloane seemed unharmed from the risky training session. She crossed her arms and nodded. "Partner against partner eh? Let's see how this goes." She heard Altea and smirked, shaking her head. "Well I have no intentions towards losing either so we'll just have to see who's will wins out."

He suggested partners for battles, with Zenith going against her and smiled. ”Zenith huh? I think that’ll be alot of fun” she said with a smile as she turned to Zenith. ”Let’s have a fun battle Zenith!” she said with an excited expression on her face.
