After another moment or so, Brandon broke through the crowd and was in front of the gym. He spotted Alice and was about to walk over to her to give her , her berry and then explain to her and Rocky what was about to happen. Before he could though, a young trainer came out with a Ratta. After this, Alice and Rocky began to head into the gym, Brandon followed close behind. Brandon wanted to say wait, I have to tell you both something important, but they were already inside the gym, their names were being called. As they approached Misty, Brandon decided to let Marshtomp and Parasect out of their pokeballs. What better pokemon to have out when talking to a water type gym leader then a water type and grass/bug type? Skipper of course, also stayed by his side, staying well on the path to avoid anything wet. They had now pretty much reached Misty and she had said "There you are, I had expected more of you, but I suppose this will have to do". Brandon put out his hand to Misty and said "Hello again Misty, pleasure to see you again." Brandon wanted to say more, but he didn't really know what they had come to see Misty about, so he just stopped there. He figured it would break the ice though.

Alice said quietly, "Max said you could help us... we don't know what to do. We need to find his Porygon... Is there any way you can help us?" she trailed off a little sadly.

"If you want to find Upgrade youll need to find that computer. I remember his base in Hoenn." she smiled

"R-Really?" Rose questioned, slowly walking over. "How does this work exactly?" She questioned, examining the bike. She knew you had to pedal to move, but how did you stop? There also seemed to be some mechanisms on the handles. What did these do? She didn't know the first thing about bike riding. Brandon listened as Alice asked if Misty could help them find Max's upgrade. Misty began a long explaination that pretty much said Max had set up computers that could keep in contact with Upgrade. She said if we wanted to find Upgrade, they needed to find the computer. Brandon thought for a second then asked "Where do find this computer Misty?". He hoped the answer didn't involve having to fight past another grunt army. Though that would be fun, he didn't think his pokemon wanted another brawl just yet.

"If we cant't find the secret base he set up here in Kanto, My family has a summer house in Hoenn. It is lovely this time of year, the sunset's over the bay watching the Wailords circle and play, while your butler brings you cold drinks..." He sighed, remembering the simple joys of regular life.

Alice listened intently. A secret base?! Brandon asked, "Where do find this computer Misty?"

Rocky started getting nostalgic about Hoenn. Alice had never been there but it did sound kind of nice. If they had to go all the way to Hoenn to try and locate Upgrade though, it would take a long time. For some reason she felt like they didn't have much time. Max needed them now.

"As much as I'd like to see Hoenn one day, you wouldn't happen to know where Max's Kanto base is, would you?" Alice asked. She thought Misty might have some idea given her past with Max. Alice liked the idea of a secret base. She wished she had one herself.

As Alice spoke she felt the egg in her hands begin to twitch. A red beak poked through, following by tiny claws. The baby Archen forced itself out of the egg, looked around and then climbed up onto Alice's shoulder. "Ayyyyck!" it screeched, looking around.

"Alice smiled and reached up a hand. "Hello, little one! Welcome to the world," she said. It was nice to have a distraction for a minute. The Archen was very cute.
