Rocky was feeling pretty confident about the gym. The first two gyms had been a bit of a hassle. But his Ground type heavy team should find this easy.

Then he got the message from Meg.

"Our pokemon will not be back in the foreseeable future. Make the proper chanages youll need for the gym and meet up outside the gym in 20 minutes."

"What the..." Rocky said and ran back to the Pokemon center. After a panicked exchange with Nurse Joy Rocky looked at who he had to work with and withdrew the only team he had that stood even the smallest chance of winning.

With his new team Rocky looked at his watch, he had ten minutes. Racing back to the park he released his team.

Meowth, Kick-Puncher, Parasect and Vulpix stood ready. But not ready enough.

The gym challenges would take some time, so Rocky decided to use that time to train up these Pokemon as well as he could.

Kick-Puncher stood and attacked a tree. Parasect sat inthe sun and absorbed sunlight. Vulpix decided to train by chasing Meowth around the park.

The rushed improvised training session may not have been overly traditional but it did bring out some results.

Alice wasn't sure her newly healed Pokemon would arrive in time for the gym battle, so she was determined to get her current team ready. She watched them carefully, giving each Pokemon tips to improve and encouraging them to try their best. She let out Aster, Almond, Finn and Plume to help cheer them on as well.

Alice congratulated her Pokemon for working so hard and then returned them to their Pokeballs to have a good rest. Suddenly the Poketech on her wrist began to beep. She pressed a button on the side and a message from Meg popped up.

"Our pokemon will not be back in the foreseeable future. Make the proper chanages youll need for the gym and meet up outside the gym in 20 minutes."

Alice wasn't too concerned that her team wouldn't be back in time for the gym - she had expected it. But what did Meg mean by "foreseeable future"? Had something gone wrong?

She headed back towards the Pokemon Center to make some last minute changes to her team.

"Alright?" Rose asked, surprised. "But-but my team isn't ready yet! I need more time. Can... is it okay if I go last? That would give me at least a few hours to do some last minute training." She was seriously concerned. How was she supposed to beat the gym leader when she had hardly even trained her current team? She wished her old team was back...

Rocky allowed Brandon to go shopping and intel gathering with him. They set out and soon ended up in sort of pokemart, Brandon noticed a clothes rack and went over to sift through the clothes, he noticed a dark green t-shirt and a black hoodie on the rack, he pulled them off, next he found a pair of black sweat pants on the rack and he pulled those off as well. As Brandon headed to the register to pay, he also noticed some fake tattoos hanging in a special display mount on the wall. Brandon took 4 of them and then made his way over to the register to pay. As he paid for the items, he asked the cashier "Have you ever battled Surge? I heard ground types may be the way to go for his gym." , the cashier chuckled as he counted the money and handed Brandon his change, the cashier then replied with "yes sir, ground types are most effective against Lt. Surge alright, but Mr. Surge is very smart and made a house rule that makes it so you can only have two of them, smart guy that Lt. Surge is" with that the cashier stopped talking and headed into the backroom. Brandon found the bathroom and changed into his new clothes. He also got a wet paper towel and put on 2 of the fake tattoos. Then he put the other 2 fake tattoos into his bag for future use. He also put his old clothes in a mailout bag and put them in his pack for the time being, his plan was to mail his old clothes out to his Mom in Sinnoh for safekeeping until this whole ordeal was over. Brandon then met up with Rocky outside, he had only just reached him when both of their poketchs went off and Meg said something about their healed pokemon not getting here in foreseeable future. Directly following the message Rocky muttered "What the..." and began to run full speed towards the pokemon center, Brandon ran full speed to try keep up with him, luckily Rocky's big size made his top speed just slow enough for Brandon to keep him in sight. Soon they both entered the pokemon center to find out what was going on. After he entered, Brando n stopped to catch his breath and then try to find out what was going on.

At around 6 pm the team met up at the gym. When they noticed a bunch of trainers gathered around they hurried up making there way through the trainers to find the gym surrounded by agents. All the men and woman who patrolling the streets were not here blocking off the entrance to the gym. Meghan walked ahead to ask what was going on. A man with a earpiece responded with a short answer.

"The gym is closed miss. I can not tell you anything else right now." He said looking around and moving back into position.

One of the trainer near by looked of at Meghan and the others.
" Surge finally got busted."

Another trainer spoke up.
"I heard Surge is the person who was stealing those pokemon from the daycare on route 5! Can you believer that!" the girl said.

"Surge stealing pokemon..." Meghan paused. She could feel the grip tightening in here palm.

She looked back at the others.
"This could have something to do with our pokemon." She wanted to do something but knew this wasnt the moment.

" If this is about our pokemon will get them back...but we shouldnt get involved right her and right now." She said looking at Rocky and Alice who were expecting pokemon back as well.

"We should get out of this crown now.." She said discreetly dropping back and moving away from the crowd. When the group was at a safe distance she spoke up.
"I know you are feeling what Im feeling but right now its frankly to dangerous to go looking for Surge. He is probably held up somewhere here and with that many people looking for him it wont be more than a day before he pokes his head up. Remember now he to has to avoid check points ..I dont see him getting out of Vermilion." She paused.

" I cant tell you how to react or feel but I think now is the time we should get out of this place. This whole Surge thing is bad for us. Its going to attract more people." She said concerned

"Im going to go." She said looking over them.
" Move fast and keep your heads low." She said waving goodbye.

A minute later and Meghan was gone. Blended into the background of the city hustle.

Alice agreed with Meg and was glad to see that she was willing to retreat for now. But she wasn't expecting her just to leave like that. She watched as the girl disappeared, blending easily into the crowded streets.

Alice turned to the others. "Do you really think Surge could have been involved in all those thefts?" She had seen what a bully the guy was, but he was a gym leader! She couldn't think of gym leaders as anything but good people. "Either way, we don't have time to waste..." she said. "We need to get to Lavender as soon as possible... we can't wait around for Surge to return." She frowned. "I think we'll have to go ahead to Lavender and then come back once we've got our Poketechs sorted. Hopefully Surge will be back by then. What do you guys think?"

Soon the group headed out for the gym, they arrived only to find it swarming with agents. After a few minutes they seem to find out that Surge was now in the same boat as them all, a fugitive. Brandon was shocked, he wouldn't hold against the guy to do such a thing, what he just couldn't understand was motive. Why would a gym leader, with already very powerful pokemon, want to steal pokemon? He just couldn't understand. Brandon followed quietly as the group fell back, it wasn't his worry anyway, with this many agents they would find out what surge had done and then find him as well. Meghan made a short pep talk saying they should stay low profile and probably get out of here. After her pep talk she left them and disappeared into the crowd of people in the city. Alice suggested they move on to Lavender town and come back for everyone else's pokemon later. Brandon couldn't argee more, Brandon took a deep breath and then said "I agree, we should get going, remmeber we only have two days before these computers are finished being set up, that means we need to be out of here and into Lavender town before they are. Meghan is right, it is going to be atleast a few days before Surge even considers coming out of hiding, we don't have time to wait it out. Let's sneak out of here now while all the agents are busy at Surge's gym and begin heading to Lavender town. We should try to be as stealthy as possible along the way, however, if we run into any trouble that we can' sneak our way out of, I will help fight us out of it, of us all, I think my team was the least injuried from Cerulean and most my current team still has some form battle expereince and they all are pretty strong, but I reckon with some stealth and creative tactics, we can make it to Lavender town with conflict, but we have to leave NOW if we are to have any chance of making it to Lavender town".

The news that Surge was missing and probably involved in his missing Pokemon created an anger in rocky.

Thsi bully of a gym leader was so scared that he needed to steal the Pokemon of gym challengers that was pathetic. Rocky looked forward to meeting him again.

The others were right though. Getting to Lavender was important. Rocky put a leash on his anger ready to unleash it on Surge the next time they met.

"OK then, lets get to Lavender and get this computer mess dealt with. The we come back and find Surge and teach him not to mess with our Pokemon!"

@Pokemon Trainer Sarah @Brettles @Dragon Master Mike @brandon_g We need to make up for last ground. Its been months since the last gym battle. So you guys are going to be gm'd a little bit.

Everything to happen fast as Meghan took off and the team was forced to flee Vermilion City. With cops, agents and trainers all over the place getting out of the city was not easy. They moved along the side street. As the view of the sea disappeared in the background they started to feel a little less pressure. Within 30 minutes they reached route 11. Crossing into the open fields of Route 11 was a nice break from the paved roads an cameras.

However as they moved through the tall grass they found they found they were unwelcomed guests.
