"Thanks very much," Alice replied. The police were obviously busy. Alice got out of their way and headed back to the group.

She told them what she had learned about Rifure Village and O-Hina Town.

"Unless one of you guys has a better idea, I guess we should head for that village," she said. "And hope that we can find a ride..."

Alice paused for a moment... She remembered the Sons of Arcanine. JPO had given her his phone number, but they had established that the Poketech couldn't make calls...

"Do you think we could call the Sons of Arcanine?" Alice asked suddenly. "If they meet us at Rifure Village, we could hopefully get to Lavender by nightfall. We just need to find a phone..."

Looking down at the sleepy Snorlax, Rocky thought about how strong that Pokemon must be. It was huge and would definitely be imposing on a Pokemon team. It was way too big to take on though, even if he could find a way to wake it up.

Alice dealt with the authorities and came back with a few different options for moving forward.

Rifure village sounded like the best and easiest route. Alice suggested contacting the Sons of Arcanine again for a lift.

"The sons of Arcanine sound good", Rocky said. "Let me check to see if I can get something just a little more cozy though! If Giles can meet us in Rifure, the back of a limousine is much preferable to the back of a motorcycle."

Rocky sent a message through his Poketech to Giles.

'Giles. I am approaching Rifure town and would appreciate if you would meet us in town and drive us from there. Rocky.'

"Wow, that's a great idea, Rocky! I didn't know you could do that!" Alice replied. She had never been in a limousine before.

"Before we forget again, since we can't call, I'm going to send a quick message to Meg. It bothers me a little we haven't heard from her since that strange message cut out."

Alice tapped the side of her Poketech and clicked through the menus to the message service. She selected voice message.

"Hi Meg, it's Alice. We're all good here. Got your message. Are you okay?! Please reply as soon as possible! We'll hopefully make it to Lavender by tonight, so we can come find you after that, if you need us. Let us know! Well, take care, Meg." Alice hit send.

As she lowered her wrist, she felt a rumbling sensation against her side. She looked down to find her bag glowing slightly from the inside. The egg! Alice had almost forgotten about it after the long day of walking. Sure enough, small cracks had appeared in the sides.

Alice lifted it out of her bag and held it in her hands. Watching an egg hatch with a real live baby Pokemon inside was one of the most amazing experiences she had had so far.

The walk to Rifure Village didnt take to long. At first there was a small group of trainers walking with them. The bridge was a pretty impressive site to anyone who had not seen a bridge run for so long. Much like the bridges of Unova, Kantos ocean side bridge was a modern marvel. On the way back Rocky called his driver in hopes of getting the team to Lavander faster. Rocky had not taken into account just how long it would take to get to this small town on far end of Kanto but it seemed like it should take a couple of hours. Rifure City was within sight when the group was stopped by a voice.

"Did you know that Rifure City is the where the pokemon badges originate from?" The odd dective voice said right behind them.

"Now thats far enough." The voice said from right behind him

The man stood in ground right behind them with his badge out.

"Lets not do anything stupid or make any fast moves."

They did a lot of walking that day. It could have been long and tedious, but Rose didn't particularly mind it. It was a nice change of pace from the last few days. In order to bypass a group of trainers, they had to go through a muddy trail. They made it through a security checkpoint without raising any alarms and once again were on their way walking again. A while later, they ran into a bridge on their path that was down. It seemed like a Snorlax had fallen onto it and taken it down. It seemed just like their luck that something like this would happen. Alice asked for the fastest way around, which turned out to be a place called Rifure town.

As they walked, Rose sensed a man walking up behind the group. She didn't think anything of it until a few moments later when he spoke up. "Now thats far enough. Lets not do anything stupid or make any fast moves." He said, raising what Rose had to assume was a police badge. She froze in place. What were they supposed to do now? Did they try to play it off like they didn't know what was happening? Did they have to start running? She was terrified. What would her parents say if she got caught? All these thoughts swirled in her head, and she stood there staring ahead, the detective still standing behind them.

Brandon listened as Alice talked to one of the police officers and then told the their options. They were going to head for a little town called Rifure Village a fairly short walk away. Rocky tried to message someone for a ride, but they soon realized they probably wouldn't reach the town for a couple hour. The group then set off for the town. As they began walking, Brandon let out Mankey, Ekans and Riolu so they could walk beside him, even without Skipper or Marshtomp, the leaders of the team, they automatically formed a decent defensive formation, with Mankey offering Ekans and Riolu positions, since he was the most battle experienced of the 3. The group continued walking and soon they had just about reach the town. Suddenly someone spoke from behind them, it was detective. The guy also said not to make any sudden movements, but Brandon hardly heard this, his mind went into automatic mode, luckily his hand in his pocket and he was in the center of the group, making it a little harder to see him clearly, so he was able to very slowly move his hand to Beedrill's pokeball and pressed the button, he then moved his hand slowly to Skipper's pokeball but did not press the button, he wanted to save them as a last resort, as they would give them away for sure. Brandon kept his head down and remained quiet and kept walking, hoping the detective wouldnt stop them or that the situation could be resved by someone else in the group peacefully. Beside him Beedrill came out of his pokeball and fell into the formation that Mankey, Ekans and Riolu had formed and now tightened. Mankey and Ekans kept a careful eye on the detective, ready to react if he made any sudden movements, but did not attack or make any threatening motions. Riolu and Ekans followed suit.

Brandons reaction did not work out well.

" Wrong move kid." The detective said giving a signal to near by tree line.

The tress shook as the mighty pokemon jumped out easily landing near his trainer.
" Give him an intimidating Roar."

This Arcanine was beautiful. It had not only been taken care of it had easily been one of the strongest you could find. This pokemons level was much higher than all of Brandons team.

The best let out a mighty roar which sent Brandons entire team fearfully back into the their pokeballs.

"The next one of you who makes a move like that is going to be cuffed and dragged back to Vermilion." He said making it clear this was not a joke.

Form behind the bushes another pokemon came forth walking over to him.
"Good looking out." He smiled to Sylveon.

Turning his attention back to group.
"My name is Detective Mills and I have come a long way to find you all." He said confidently

He reached into his pocket pulling out a hand full of m&ms and eating them. This detective was young but his face did not show it. It was clear just looking at him that he had seen things you couldnt unsee. He stepped forward scanning the group with his eyes.
"This is going to go down one of two ways. You are either going to come with me willingly or you well you're going to force me to use my training to take you back. I can assure you the first option is much better for all of us. It also means that your pokemon will not run the risk of getting harmed in a battle. Arcanine and Sylveon on here are very strong pokemon who have taken down more experienced trainers."

(The intimidating roar was strong enough to send all pokemon back to their pokeballs. Except Rose's Chingling we are going to say that pokemon has a very strong will. )

((@Mad Max does all Pokemon include Rose's Chingling, or were you directing that at Brandon's Pokemon only? I'm going to assume Rose's Chingling wasn't included, but I'll edit it if necessary.))

Brandon's reaction had only made things worse. Rose didn't know what he was thinking. Obviously this man was ready for anything. Still though, at least he had done something. She still stood there frozen in place. Rose had desperately hoped Alice, or even Rocky would step up to say something... But what if Brandon tried pulling something? Rose could sense the Arcanine clearly. That Pokemon alone could wipe out her entire team. She could only assume that he had other Pokemon just as powerful, if not even more powerful.

Rose had to speak up. She had to do something before Brandon tried anything else. Fighting obviously wasn't going to work, but she didn't trust Brandon to not try anyway. Not wanting to alert the detective or show her face, Rose spoke without moving. "W-What is th-this ab-a-about?" Rose stuttered badly trying to speak. What was she doing? Her words had come out so poorly, she was probably making things worse.

After a few more seconds, the Togepi pushed its head out of the egg. "Priiii!" it squealed happily.

"Hi there," Alice grinned back.

The little Pokemon let out a small yawn and looked around.

"Chu!" Paprika introduced herself. She reached out and shook the baby Pokemon's hand.

"Priii!" the Togepi trilled again.

"Aww, friends already!" Alice said. "I'm your trainer now, Togepi. We'll take good care of you, won't we, Paprika? But we have to get moving now, so I'm going to let you get some rest, okay?"

Alice clutched the Togepi to her chest and retrieved a Pokeball from her bag. She tapped it lightly against the Pokemon's back.

She placed the Pokeball safely in her bag and then followed the group towards Rifure Village. Hopefully Rocky's car would meet them there.

When they could finally see the town, they were stopped by a man with a badge. Brandon tried to stealthily prepare his Pokemon, but the man's Arcanine used Roar, sending all the team's Pokemon back into their Pokeballs. Alice missed Paprika's weight on her shoulder immediately. She admired the fire dog. It reminded her of one owned by her childhood friend. The beast looked to be in perfect condition. Alice had the urge to pat it, but resisted.

"You are either going to come with me willingly or you well you're going to force me to use my training to take you back," the man said. His Pokemon looked too strong for them to handle.

"W-What is th-this ab-a-about?" Rose spoke up. Alice smiled at her encouragingly. Rose's gentleness might be just what they needed to keep the situation calm.

The man smiled. "I assure you I am not here to harm you in any way but it is within my power to make sure that each and everyone of yous comes with me to answer some questions." Alice was surprised when the man used Rose's name. How did everyone in this region seem to know exactly who they were?! Alice had hoped Meg leaving would confuse their enemies a little. A group of four, not of five, would not match the descriptions going around, surely. But they had been caught time and time again. Maybe Meg had the right idea. They would be much safer if they all split up. Alice thought about what had happened the last time she was alone though, when she had been caught by Marius. She shivered.

Alice had a bad feeling about this situation, but it seemed they had no choice. She kept quiet, mulling over her own thoughts. If they were going to be arrested, she would have to fight, she knew. She hoped her Pokemon were recovered enough from the day before.

She distracted herself by watching the Arcanine. Its mane was beautiful. It whorled around the Pokemon like fire.
