News - April 2015

A little early, but I'm going to have no life next month, so doing this now.

Update Status

I hope to maintain the weekly update schedule this month- there may be a late page here and there since I'm out of buffer, but I've already started on the next several pages. However, due to NaNo, school, and health issues- there may be some complications this month. To be further in detail here:

- Camp NaNo
NaNo strikes again! One of my best buddies ever (I swear she's my long lost twin) talked me into doing Camp NaNo this year. To put simple, Camp NaNo is National Novel Wrting Month... in April... and you can pick your own goal. So you don't have to reach 50,000 words to win. However, I'm crazy and picked 50,000 as my goal. This means Sunrise is going to get love this month as I attempt to finish the draft for Book Two!

- School
Yeeah. This semester hasn't been going too terribly well. I'm behind on a big project. I've got plenty of time to finish- but I need to get more done sooner than later at this point. I'm no longer capable of all nighters (read the health section).

- Health
Sooo... I've got a nice family history of thyroid issues. And by that, I mean I've had two family members with thyroid cancer, three with benign tumors, one with Hashimoto's/Hypothyroidism. I'd be crazy/stupid not to go get blood tests to check for any issues. Sure enough, I've got very mild Hashimoto's. Gotta love genetics. Thankfully, it's in the earliest stages- so the effects on me have been minimal- I've only just been noticing them as symptoms of the Hashimoto's since I became aware of it- but looking back, I've probably had it for at least a few months.

Basically, what this means is that I'm tired constantly- and possibly a bit irritable and depressed at times. Obviously, this is detrimental to comic making, but I'll work through it. There's other symptoms- but I won't bore you guys with that. The one I've been feeling the most is the fatigue- I've been crashing almost every day, regardless of how much sleep I've been getting. This also makes it a lot harder to get school work done. No worries though, despite not being curable, it is DEFINITELY treatable and manageable. I'm not yet at the point where I need medicines, and thanks to my mom having Hashimoto's, I already know quite a bit on how it works.

- Moving
Yeah, my parent's and I are moving. Most of the moving process is done, but it's been a lot of work and has involved me driving from College to home a few times to help out. I'd say this is no longer a problem- but the lack of a desk in my new bedroom might be whenever I'm home.

Sorry that got a bit wordy. I haven't publicly explained what's going on lately with my vanishing as of late. You guys are always so awesomely patient, so I try to be pretty transparent about why things are behind schedule and all.

No completed pages yet, but plenty of sketching done. I'm definitely not preparing for another PRS birthday bash or anything. Nope. Not at all.

Livestreams

Due to scheduling conflicts with homework due dates (I'm a procrastinator), I'm moving livestreams from Friday evenings to Saturday evenings. They'll generally start around 8-9 PM. These will only happen while I'm not at home since I've yet to find a suitable working place at the new house.

Well, just a status update on everything.

My sanity is moreless back after last week. The end of March / start of April was really rough and left me a little depressed and such- sorry about that. I'm feeling better though I'm still trying to catch up with everything.

I've finished the buffer for this month- so we're not going to be missing any updates all month long. I'll be working on the buffer for suicide week next month as planned. The new system for working on pages is proving to be pretty relaxed compared to my previous 'let's do this in one sitting' approach to every page (or in some cases- three in one sitting).

Uh- not much else to update from there. Just tired.
