Hmmmmmm...
After reviewing the trailer, I think I have a theory.
They are turning Legendary and MYTHICAL Pokemon to stone.
It's assumed that a Goomy is one of the main characters.
Goomy are Mythical Pokemon.
I hope you can see where I'm going with this...

Actually I thought that Goomy was a Mythical Pokemon, and it said Mythical Pokemon are being turned to stone. So I thought the Goomy was going to get turned to stone.
My friend corrected me, telling me that Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Victini, and Diancie are the Mythical Pokemon, and Goomy is a Pseudo-Legend. I still really don't get why those six aren't counted as actual legendary Pokemon, since they have been for the first four generations...

Actually, mythical Pokemon are event exclusive Pokemon. They are considered legendaries, but they're called mythical Pokemon because they can't be caught in normal gameplay. In fact, deoxys is the only legendary so far to change from mythical to legendary.

I was quite confused about the whole Goomy thing! Mythical Pokemon are simply event-exclusive legendaries. Pokemon didn't start using the term internationally until Generation V. I believe Deoxys is still considered mythical, but it is the only mythical Pokemon available for capture during normal gameplay.

I'm still banking on the plot focusing on the Mortality Trio. Hopefully a new main game will be announced showing Zygarde formes/Megas, and they'll be in PSMD. Probably not, but it's a nice thought. :/
