It looks like Pokemon has decided to put the spotlight on another underappreciated Pokemon. Many Pokemon fans should be familiar with how this Pokemon simply flops around and now he will flop into your hearts.
You may recall that Pokemon made a reggae-style song in honor of Slowpoke back in 2014. Well, they are at it again but this time with Magikarp. This useless Pokemon that does nothing but splash is finally getting some love and appreciation from the Pokemon Company. You will think that the song will sing the praises of Magikarp and say how great it is. Guess again! The song instead tells you how useless, weak, difficult and annoying to encounter. Though it does end happily for the little orange fish.
This is all part of the “I Love Pokemon” fanclub campaign to bring some love to some lesser appreciated Pokemon. This campaign includes a fanpage where fans can view an illustrated field guide, Magikarp trivia and the official Magikarp song! We may see some Magikarp merchandise popping up soon just like when the fanclub featured Slowpoke.
