Pokemon GO March Events
Get ready to march into Pokemon GO this month!

That is because there are plenty of events going on in the month of March! Some of these events involve March Research Breakthroughs, Month of Legendary Raid Weekends, Mystery Event, and a Psychic Spectacular!

March Research Breakthroughs

A new month is here which means new Research Breakthrough! This time you can expect to see the seeds of your labor bare some fruit with Ferroseed!

Ferroseed will be rewarded in Research Breakthrough during the month of March. The Thorn Seed Pokemon will also be coming with boosted Stardust. This reward may be highly wanted for those taking part in PvP Battles and in need to strengthen their Pokemon. Especially if you need to gather enough Ferroseed Candy to evolve your Ferroseed into Ferrothron.

Month of Legendary Raid Weekends

Do you need to hit the raids for some powerful and rare Pokemon? Then you are in luck! During the month of March, each weekend will feature a special Legendary Pokemon in Raids. You can expect the following Pokemon in Legendary Raids during the weekends of March: Darkrai, Altered Forme Giratina, Cobalion and Lugia.

Below are the details for Legendary Pokemon and when you can find them.

  • Darkrai Special Raid Weekend will happen from Friday, March 6, 2020, at 8AM to Monday, March 9, 2020, at 10PM. local time. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Darkrai!
  • Altered Forme Giratina Special Raid Weekend will happen from Friday, March 13, 2020, at 8AM. to Monday, March 16, 2020, at 10PM local time. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Altered Forme Giratina!
  • Cobalion Special Raid Weekend will happen from Friday, March 20, 2020, at 8AM. to Monday, March 23, 2020, at 10PM local time. These Cobalion will know the event-exclusive attack Sacred Sword. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Cobalion!
  • Lugia Special Raid Weekend will happen from Friday, March 27, 2020, at 8AM. to Monday, March 30, 2020, at 10PM local time. These Lugia will know the event-exclusive attack Aeroblast. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Lugia!

Most of these Pokemon will known an event-exclusive move and all of them will have the chance to be Shiny. Please note that this event will mark the first time that Cobalion will be Shiny in Pokemon GO.

Mystery Event

During the weekend of Friday, March 20th to Monday, March 23rd will be a secret mystery event. Not many details are known. What we do know is that there will be boosted spawns of certain Pokemon and there will be a brand new Special Research story event.

Below are the features for this event.

  • Normal-, Fire-, Water-, Electric-, and Ice-type Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild. * Nincada will also be available! It will be appearing in the wild and hatching more often from 5 km Eggs. If you’re lucky, you might encounter or hatch a Shiny one!
  • Karrablast and Shelmet will be hatching more often from 5 km Eggs.
  • One-star to four-star Raid Battles throughout the weekend will feature various Bug- or Steel-type Pokémon.

There will also be special 2x Catch and Hatch Stardust bonus.

It is all unknown which Pokemon will be featured in the Special Research Event. It is speculated that Genesect will be tied to this event due to the amount of Steel and Bug type Pokemon feature during this event. Also, the focus of Fire, Water, Electric and Ice type Pokemon could be a reference to the different types of Drives that Genesect has. Though, we won’t know until we get closer to the event if Genesect will be playing a role during this event.

Psychic Spectacular

Get ready for a Psychic Spectacular during the weekend of Friday, March 27th at 8:00AM to Monday, March 30th at 10PM. Plenty of Psychic type Pokemon will be roaming around. Including the debut of Solosis during the daytime and Gothita in the nighttime. Both of them will also be able to find in 5KM Eggs.

Below are the full details for the Psychic Spectacular event.

  • More Psychic-type Pokémon first discovered in Unova will make their Pokémon GO debut! During the daytime, you’ll be able to encounter Solosis, the Cell Pokémon, in the wild, and during the evening, you’ll instead encounter Gothita, the Fixation Pokémon! Solosis and Gothita will be available after the event in the wild and in 5 km Eggs.
  • The following Psychic-type Pokémon will be hatching more often from 2 km Eggs: Abra, Drowzee, Ralts, Spoink, Baltoy, Wynaut, Beldum, Gothita, and Solosis.
  • If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny Baltoy!
  • Psychic-type Pokémon will be featured in raids, and you’ll see them more often in the wild.
  • Enjoy Psychic Spectacular Field Research throughout the event period.
