Nintendo has announce that they will discontinue online functionality offered through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for DS and Wii games. Any online capabilities for these games will no longer be accessible for these games which includes online play, matchmaking and leaderboards. Offline game play will not be affected and these change should not cause any problems for 3DS and Wii U games.

Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia
Pokémon SoulSilver Version
Pokémon White Version

This means that these game will no longer be able to trade, battle or any other online features by use of Nintendo WiFi.
