Official Erratas to Two TCG Cards

Pokemon has announced that there will be erratas, or changes to the text, for two cards currently in the format. The two cards that will undergo revising will be Fighting Stadium and Jamming Net.

The new text for Fighting Stadium will read:

The attacks of each Fighting-type Pokemon in play (both yours and your opponent’s) do 20 more damage to the opponent’s Active Pokemon if it is a Pokemon-EX (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

Previously, this could mean that if you have Landorus EX who is using Hammerhead, that it could do 50 damage to the active opponent’s EX Pokemon. It can then do an additional 20 damage to a benched EX Pokemon on the opponent’s bench thanks to the effects of Fighting Stadium.

Now, the changes to the text states that the extra 20 damage from Fighting Stadium will only apply to the active EX Pokemon on the opponent’s side. Hammerhead’s splash damage to the bench will not receive an increase in damage because of Fighting Stadium being on the field.

Here is the new text for Jamming Net:

The attacks of the Pokemon this card is attached to do 20 less damage to each of the opponent’s Pokemon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.)

There was some confusion on what this card will do once attached to your opponent’s active Pokemon. The main misconception was that Jamming Net could reduce damage done by recoil from your opponent’s active Pokemon attacks. An example of this would be if Jamming Net was attached to your opponent’s Seismitoad EX. The previous text of this card had suggested that if attached, Seismitoad EX’s Grenade Hammer will only 10 damage to your opponent’s active Pokemon instead of 30. It has now been rewritten to clarifying that it will only lessen damage done to your Pokemon from your opponent’s EX Pokemon but not their own.
