It isn’t too late to make Summer plans for Japan to see Pikachu!

This year’s Pikachu Outbreak festival in Yokohama has been announced. If you visit Yokohama between the dates of August 10th to 16th then you can have a chance to see an army of dancing Pikachu!

Pikachu Outbreak is a yearly festival where Pikachu can be seen parading around Yokohama. They can be seen dancing to music and greeting people. This year the theme is “Science is Amazing!”.

There will be performances done at night for the first time. You can expect during the night performances the use of digital technology to showcase the dancing Pikachu. It is said that over 1,500 Pikachu mascots will take part in this year’s Pikachu Outbreak. You may even have the chance to see the famous Ditto-chu and Mimikyu.

Other events that will take place during Pikachu Outbreak 2018 includes Great Pikachu March and the Digital Splash Show. Panasonic will be hosting an “Ocean Pikachu Parade” that will use digital technology.

It has already been confirm that there will be no Pokemon GO event to go along with this year’s Pikachu Outbreak. The mayor of Yokohama had said that it was a risk to public’s safety to have so many people within the city due to Pokemon GO and Pikachu Outbreak.
