Pokémon GO Battle League Season 1 to begin!


This will allow for you to fully participate in the first league.

Niantic have announced that Pokémon GO Battle League Season 1 will begin on March 13th at 20:00 UTC. From 21:00 UTC today until then, all three leagues are available to play in the Preseason. From March 10th 08:00 Local to March 12th 22:00 local, strong Pokémon including Skarmory, Swampert, Shieldon will appear in Raids, as well as Registeel and Cresselia. You’ll gain double stardust from Raid Battles and Trainer Battles. When the League starts as part of a special celebration from March 13th at 08:00 Local Time to March 16h 22:00 Local Time, you’ll receive a Premium Battle Pass when you win all 5 battles in a set on the Premium Track. You can have 7 sets of GO Battle League battles a day.

When the League starts, you’ll receive increased rewards. Ranks 2 and 3 require more wins to progress. At Rank 1, Metagross will be your first guaranteed encounter with Beldum added at Rank 4 and Rufflet at Rank 7. Pikachu Libre will appear when you reach Rank 10. In the future it will be available at lower ranks. If you reach Rank 10 you will earn pose and avatar items based on Steven Stone, the Champion of the Hoenn Region. If you reach Rank 7, you will get an Elite Charge TM which lets you select the move you learn including Community Day moves.

Season 1 runs as follows:

  • The Great League will run from Friday, March 13, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, March 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
  • The Ultra League will run from Friday, March 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, April 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
  • The Master League will run from Friday, April 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, April 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
  • All three leagues will be available from Friday, April 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, May 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).

Season 2 will begin Friday, May 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
