Are you ready to go to GO Fest?

If you are excited for this year’s Pokemon GO Fest then you are in luck! That is because the tickets for the event are now on sale in the Pokemon GO app.

Tickets for Pokemon GO Fest will cost $14.99 and will be for two days of GO Fest fun. You will need to use cash to purchase tickets for GO Fest. Tickets can not be purchased using PokeCoins. Below is how you can purchase a ticket using the in-game shop.

  1. In the shop, tap the Pokémon GO Fest 2020 image.
  2. Tap the Buy button.
  3. You’ll then see a pop-up indicating that you’ve received a ticket for Pokémon GO Fest 2020.
  4. After you tap OK, you can find the ticket in your Item Bag.
  5. A few days before the event, you’ll receive a medal. When you open the app during Day 1, you’ll receive access to the Pokémon GO Fest 2020 experience, including the first Special Research story! Make sure to open the app during Day 2 to receive the second Special Research story.
  6. After you’ve obtained the Special Research lines, you can complete them at any time. Tickets to this event are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).

GO Fest Details

Pokemon GO Fest will take part the weekend of Saturday, July 25th to Sunday, July 26th from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Each day will offer fun experiences for players to take part in.

Below is what ticketed players can expect from Day 1 at Pokemon GO Fest.

  • Trainers can access a Special Research story that they can get only on Day 1.
  • Five rotating habitats—themed around fire, water, grass, battle, and friendship—will feature special Pokémon that go along with that habitat’s theme. These habitats will rotate every hour, so each habitat will be featured twice during Day 1.
  • Trainers will be able to work together in the Global Challenge Arena! This GO Fest–exclusive feature will be available only to ticket holders. In the Global Challenge Arena, Trainers will have a chance to join forces in order to complete a collaborative challenge each hour. If Trainers complete a challenge, they will earn a bonus for the remainder of the hour. You can check the Global Challenge Arena screen to keep track of global progress!
  • Trainers will be able to encounter over 75 species of Pokémon in the wild, in raids, and by completing Special Research tasks.

The second day of Pokemon GO Fest is being kept as a secret. There are little details of what will happen that day. What is known that a Special Research activity is being planned for players with tickets.

No matter if you have a ticket or not, you can soon purchase a Pokemon GO Fest 2020 shirt from PokemonCenter.com. This shirt features different icons representing different aspects of Pokemon GO. Some of these icons includes Stardust, Team GO Rocket and transferring Pokemon.

Leading Up to GO Fest

A series of Timed Research activities will be going live in the weeks prior to GO Fest 2020. These events will be called Pokémon GO Fest 2020 Timed Research and will be release three weeks before GO Fest. The completion of these activities will unlock additional Pokémon appearances during Pokémon GO Fest 2020. These Timed Research events will be available to all players.

Don’t forget that Niantic has promised that a miminum of $5 million dollars from GO Fest proceeds will be going to support fund new projects from Black gaming and AR creators that can live on the Niantic platform. The goal for this half will be to increasing content that represents a more diverse view of the world. The other half will go to US nonprofit organizations that are helping local communities rebuild.
