Pokemon GO is now available to download for Android and iOS in Japan, Australia and New Zealand!

Pokemon GO lets you travel around in the real world catching Pokemon, finding item caches and battling other trainers. To check out our Pokemon GO experience, click here.

No word on a US release yet but some people have been able to download the game early simply by trying to install it from Google Play or App store.

Pokemon GO will be free to download but there will be microtransactions using real money. These microtransactions will allow players to use real money to buy coins which can be used in the game.

Once players start Pokemon GO, they will be given the option to join one of three teams: Team Valor, Team Mystic, or Team Instinct. Below is a description of each team from their leaders.

Candela: I’m Candela–Team Valor’s leader! Pokemon are stronger than humans, and they’re warmhearted too! I’m researching ways to enhance Pokemon’s natural power in the pursuit of true strength. There’s no doubt that the Pokemon our team have trained are the strongest in battle!

Blanche: I am Blanche, leader of Team Mystic. The wisdom of Pokemon is immeasurably deep. I am researching why it is that they evolve. With our calm analysis of every situation we can’t lose!

Spark: Hey! The name’s Spark — the leader of Team Instinct. Pokemon are creatures with excellent intuition. I bet the secret to their intuition is related to how they’re hatched. You never lose when you trust your instincts!

Team Valor flies under a yellow flag, Team Mystic rallies under a blue flag and Team Instinct marches with a red flag. Which team will you join? Let us know in the comments as we wait for Pokemon GO release in the United States and Europe.

Happy hunting!
