Pokemon has announced dates and locations for the 2014 Pokemon National Championships. There will be 30 tournaments around the world allowing trainers to test their skills in either the Trading Card Game or the Video Game. Trainers in the TCG Championships will be put to the ultimate test to see how well they have mastered the BW Next Destinies-on format. Meanwhile, vicious battles are in store for trainers within their Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games for trainers competing in the Video Game Championships. Only 8 of these locations will have both TCG and Video Game competitions while the others will only feature TCG championships.

- 2014 Pokémon German National Championships: May 3–4, 2014, in Bochum, Germany
- 2014 Pokémon UK National Championships: May 24–25, 2014, in Manchester, England
- 2014 Pokémon Italian National Championships: May 31–June 1, 2014, in Milan, Italy
- 2014 Pokémon Canadian National Championships: June 28, 20414, in Kitchener, Ontario
- 2014 Pokémon US National Championships: July 4-6, 2014, in Indianapolis, Indiana
The US National Championship will be the only one in North America to feature a TCG and Video Game Championship.
This all leads up to the World Championship. The 2014 Pokémon World Championships venue has been revealed and will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., August 16-17, 2014. The convention center will be decked out with one-of-a-kind Pokémon paraphernalia for the thousands of players, fans, and families in attendance.
