Game play for Pokemon Sun and Moon was shown! So lets go ahead and take a look at it all.

The first official gameplay of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon has been released, highlighting a number of key early elements to the game. Two of the three new Pokémon, Yungoos and Pikipek were shown in battle, as well as an early encounter with Ledyba was shown, confirming that some, if not all, of the Pokémon from previous generations will be available. The gameplay, as with all previous games, starts in your room, and advances from sometime after you get your first Pokémon, as the player already has a Popplio. The first battle with Hau takes place during a festival to determine if you’re ready for the “Island Challenge.”

As far as game mechanics are concerned, a few small, but important changes have been made. In battle, you can now look at both Pokémon by looking at a 2D view on the bottom screen. Clicking on either Pokémon will show the stat changes, as well as a couple of other things. For example, say the opposing Pokémon was hit with Growl. If you click on that Pokémon on the bottom screen, it will show you that that Pokémon’s attack stat has dropped.

Additionally, after a level increase, your stats will be shown with a blue +(insert number) rather than showing you a couple different windows. Also, when you catch a new Pokémon, your Pokedex will show how many other Pokémon are in its evolution line in the form of white Pokeballs on the top screen of its entry above its description.

During the interview with Producer Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori before the gameplay was shown, they focused a bit on Zygarde’s 10% and complete forms, saying thiat Zygarde’s appearance will be something “special.”

That’s just about it from the limited gameplay at E3, be sure to keep it here for more news in the lead up to release.
