Today, The Pokemon Company International has released it’s Pokemon TCG Online App for the iPad devices in select markets.  Available for the iPad and iPad mini, the TCG app allows you to play the Pokemon TCG online with similar features as the desktop (PC and Mac).  You will need internet access to connect to the server to play.  You can access your digital collection of Pokemon cards, and play and battle with other people across different types of devices, including PvComp, PvP, deck building, and card trading.

All players start off with some free cards to get started. You can get more cards through battling, and purchasing merchandise, including decks and booster packs.

This should help complete the ability for more people to play the game. “The iPad version of the Pokémon TCG Online makes it even easier for fans to pick up the game and begin playing immediately,” said J.C. Smith, director of Consumer Marketing at The Pokémon Company International. “We want to provide players with various access points to play and enjoy the Pokémon TCG, whether it’s the traditional tabletop game, PC and Mac version, or the iPad and iPad mini app.”

The app has already launched in Canada, Austrailia, New Zealand, and France.  The United States will get their crack at it on Tuesday, September 30th. (Today, hopefully!) Remember kids, get your parent’s permission before installing or purchasing anything!

The app is available on the app store by following this link:  appstore.com/pokemontcgo.  PC and Mac apps are also available on Pokemon TCG.  A promotional video is available after the break along with a gallery of photos.
