Charizard is much easier and more popular of the Pokemon on deviantArt.  Perhaps it’s because it evolves from one of the three original starters in Red and Blue, or is it because it plays such a great role in the Pokemon Anime?  Maybe because it’s just a cool Pokemon?  For us, it means that there’s a wide variety of Charizard artwork out there!

Charizard bMissBajoCollection

This week’s leadoff for great artwork is this great plushie by Miss Bajo Collection.  This one’s available on her Etsy for a great $14.  I just love the chibi nature of Charizard in this piece of art.  Usually Charizard is depicted with harsh lines as a ‘cool and powerful’ Pokemon.  This is exactly the opposite – the rounded shape of this Charizard is really cute!  Fair warning, I’m itching to spend a bit on this, so maybe it won’t be around when you want to buy it (there’s only 1!)

X and Y Mega Charizard twins by BlueRobotto

If you missed your chance to get that really cute Charizard, maybe it’s time to upgrade to these Mega Charizard Twins!  Blue Robotto on Etsy had one on sale but someone’s already beat us all to the punch!  :(  These Mega Charizards are still cute, but the sharper edges of the plushie make them seem slightly more serious and ready for action (though they are always cuddle-able).

The Charizard Rises [Colorful] by SaintDill

Moving on to the art portion of the show, this art of Charizard rising still sticks with the soft themes of ‘nicer’ Charizards (like nicer cats… still not very nice).  The color scheme and background of The Charizard Rises looks great.  The softness of the art creates a warmth, which works well with this great fire type.

This more traditional art piece depicts Charizard in a clean manner, with great shading and colors.  The tail and fire in particular caught my eye as something really neat.  Just pure and simple, in the classical sense.
