It is time to go on a safari!
Especially if you want to catch Pokemon from around the world! That is because Niantic as announced several Safari Zone events that will be happening around the world! Especially if you live in Taiwan, the United States and the UK!
Safari Zone Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taichung City
The first of the many Safari Zone events will take place in Taichung City, Taiwan from Thursday, February 6, to Sunday, February 9, 2020. This event will take part during the Taiwan Lantern Festival throughout the city. The Safari Zone event will be a non-ticketed event that anybody can take part in.
Get ready to light up the night with lanterns and plenty of Electric type Pokemon. Some of the featured Pokemon for the event will include Mareep and Electrike. You can also see famous Pokemon known for their lights such as Volbeat and Illumise. Normally Illumise is only available in North America, South America, and Africa. That means Illumise will be a rare Pokemon for those living in Taiwan. Lastly, trainers taking part in the Taiwan Safari Zone will be able to catch Chimecho and Unown L.
It is unknown which Pokemon will be the event introduced Shiny Pokemon. Currently Volbeat, Illusmise and Chimecho are not Shiny in Pokemon GO.
Safari Zone St. Louis, Missouri
The first United States Safari Zone for 2020 will take place in St. Louis, Missouri at Tower Grove Park. This location is known as a cultural hub for music and sports which is perfect for Pokemon GO trainers on the go.
This Safari Zone will take place from Friday, March 27, to Sunday, March 29, 2020. Trainers are expected to have a ticket in order to take part in this Safari Zone event. These tickets will be sold within the Pokemon GO app with admission tickets costing $12, and early access tickets will cost $18. Those with an early access ticket will be able to access the event two hours early. Tickets will be sold on Friday, January 24, 2020.
Those attending Tower Grove Park for the Safari Zone will be able to see plenty of Mankey, Unown S, Teddiursa, Snivy, and Ferroseed. The region exclusive Pokemon for this Safari Zone will be Chatot which is normally in the Southern Hemisphere.
Most likely the Shiny Pokemon for this event will be Teddiursa but Ferroseed could be a surprise pick.
Safari Zone Liverpool, UK
The UK will be getting their first ever Safari Zone located at Liverpool. Trainers will need to head to the seaside area of Sefton Park from Friday, April 17, to Sunday, April 19, 2020
Safari Zone Liverpool will be a ticketed event. There will be admissions tickets sold at £12, and early access tickets will cost £18. Tickets for this event will be sold via the Pokemon GO app starting on Friday, January 31, 2020.
This Safari Zone will have a seafaring theme to it with Pokemon such as Krabby, Dratini, Chinchou, Unown V, and Oshawott having boosted rates. Relicanth will rise for this event which can normally be found in New Zealand, Samoa, and some other islands in the southwest Pacific.
It is suspected that Chinchou will be the featured Shiny Pokemon for this event.
Safari Zone Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The final Safari Zone event that has been announced for the first half of 2020 will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This Safari Zone will take place from Friday, May 8, to Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Currently there are not many details known about this Safari Zone. Details about this Safari Zone will be release at a later date.
