TCG Jump: Featured Match- Decidueye-GX/Vileplume

Court of Owls
Get your talons out as the owls are ready to strike!

Last weekend we saw a deck take some top spots at two different Regionals. It flew to the top and made sure that others knew that it existed. This week on TCG Jump we are featuring some matches using Decidueye GX and Vileplume.

These matches are being played by Team Fish Knuckles using a list made by John Kettler who has had success using the deck at two different Regionals in the last month.

This deck can be pretty nasty as it uses Decidueye GX as the main attacker with Vileplume as support. You want to quickly set up as many Decidueye GX as you can by using Forest of Giant Plants. This will put a Pokemon with 240 HP against your opponent who will have limited amount of ways to counter such a thing in the early game. These owls will then slowly pick part your bench and active by using the Feather Arrow ability to place two damage counters on your Pokemon. This could be enough to knock out some Pokemon with 60 HP who are awaiting evolution. A few well placed damage counters can be enough to take out some big Pokemon with a quick swipe of a Razor Leaf.

If you want to put your opponent in a bad situation then simple set up Vileplume which will prevent Items from being used. The priority of the deck is to get Decidueye GX set up but if you can get Vileplume with a Float Stone set up then that is always a plus. You may think getting Vileplume on the field will be a priority but that is actually wrong. After all, if Vileplume is going to prevent item from being used then you can’t use your own Items to get Decidueye GX set up. That is why it is important to get a Decidueye GX set up first before you place down your Vileplume to lock down Items.
