This week we are featuring a match using a deck that is getting popular that is being played by TylyrPlays.
TylyrPlay is using the Donphan/Trevenant deck in order to pull of the fabled Item Lock strategy. Donphan will use an attack called Spinning Turn which allows it to do damage to the opponent’s active Pokemon and then switch out to a Pokemon on your bench. The targetted Pokemon to retreat to will be Trevenant which has the Forest Curse ability. This ability will make it where your opponent isn’t allowed to play Item cards from their hand as long as Trevenant is in the active position. When it returns back to your turn, just switch Trevenant out and attack with Donphan’s Spinning Turn to activate the lock once again.
