Translated Essays from Pokemon Adventures Manga Writer! Behind the Scenes of RS Adventures!

RS Manga
For the past few months in Japan, the Pokemon Adventures: Ruby and Sapphire story has been release in a series of volumes called My First Big Special: Pocket Monsters SPECIAL. These are similar to the VIZBig omnibus where several volumes of the series are placed in one book. This is to help new readers catch up to the story without tracking down several individual volumes. The entirely of the Ruby and Sapphire story saga was released in four books.

Released with each book also featured an essay from the writer of Pokemon Adventures, Kusaka Hidenori. He has written for the Pokemon Adventures manga since the beginning and along with Satoshi Yamamoto, who replaced Mato as artist during the Gold, Silver and Crystal story saga, have worked together to create a story based on the games that each saga is covering. Each essay released with the First Big Special volumes contains special behind the scenes information going over the creation of the Ruby and Sapphire story saga. Hidenori goes over the reasons why they decided to have Ruby focus on Contests while Sapphire focus on battling, how they determine which Pokemon will make up Ruby and Sapphire’s teams, the relationship between Ruby and his father and more! There are all kinds of great information about the Ruby and Sapphire story in these essays.

Dogasu’s Backpack has went ahead and translated all four interviews from the My First Big Special books. You can read starting with the first interview to learn more about the production of the Ruby and Sapphire Adventures saga.
