Catch Roaming Form Gimmighoul Now In Pokemon GO

They see him roaming….

Roaming Form Gimmighoul has reappeared in Pokémon GO, but this time you can catch it and even evolve one into Gholdengo. Up until now, the only way to catch Gimmighoul was in it’s Chest Form in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. But now the little money loving ghoul has emerged from it’s chest and is catchable in Pokémon GO. Here is everything you need to know in order to catch it and receive some other cool rewards.

Connecting The Games

Step 1: Pair Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet with Pokémon GO

Step 2: Send a Postcard from Pokémon GO to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet

Step 3: Receive a Postcard from Pokémon GO in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet

The Rewards

Sending a Postcard can only be done once per day. Once the Postcard is sent, you will receive 50 Gimmighoul Coins and other various rewards in Pokémon Scarlet or Violet as well as a special surprise. The Vivillon that appear in your game will now match that of the Vivillon where the Postcard you sent is from. This is a great way to quickly and easily obtain the different patterns. And if you are crazy enough, you can even shiny hunt them.

On the Pokémon GO side, you will receive a Coin Bag. This item works exactly like an Incense or Mystery Box. It will spawn Roaming Form Gimmighoul for 30 minutes. Evolving Gimmighoul into Gholdengo within Pokémon GO is a little different that all other Pokémon. It requires you to collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins. These coins can be found by spinning gold PokéStops, from catching Gimmighoul, or by walking with Gimmighoul as your buddy.

Once Pokémon HOME connectivity becomes available for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will be able to transfer your Roaming Form Gimmighoul from GO to your Switch game and play with it over there. Still no date for that however. All we know for now is that is is coming early this year.

See you around, Genesect!
