It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for Crossroads Comics!
This week we’ll be taking a look at Knell. This comic is a Y Gijinkalocke by CucumberPrince and one of two stories they have going on right now. Knell is the further along of the two, with an excellent story and great visuals to add. While it’s not uncommon for comics like this to mix up the story a bit, what Knell has done for the XY story is amazing. It’s so well written and interesting that I binged the whole thing in a day. It’s a much darker take on the Kalos story, with cruel methods of succession and amazing characters that will win you over very quickly. Despite having only just gotten past the second gym, the story has covered a lot of background that lays the foundation for the comic’s world, characters, and future story progression. I especially love the characters, they’re definitely the comic’s strong suit. Their relationships, interactions, and development are all unique and interesting, and while not every character has gotten their chance in the spotlight yet, I am sure we will see more from them in the future.
