A director for the Detective Pikachu movie as been announced and has some interesting titles attached to his name.
Legendary Entertainment has appointed Rob Letterman to direct the live action Detective Pikachu movie. This director has directed a few other films such as Goosebumps and Monsters Vs. Aliens, and Shark Tale.
The Detective Pikachu movie was announced late July of 2016. Other famous names attached to the film is Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch who were brought in as writers for the film.
As of right now, a release date has not been announced.
