Also, why has absolutely no-one taken the opportunity to evolve our Pokemon? We're dead last in the Pokemon Capturing thing last I checked. Sorry if I'm just totally blind or such, but we DO in fact have a free evolution and a lot of us do not seem to have used it.

No-one has evolved Bulbasaur, Weedle, Spearow, Nidoran M, Oddish or Caterpie. I recommend one of those.

I think you'll get two for doing the battles thing, so in case you haven't done that already, I recommend doing that, then evolving Oddish all the way into Vileplume (or Weedle/Caterpie into Beedril/Butterfree).

Because in the practice round it didn't matter that ground was super effective against poison when i did it because I had the grass dual typing, but now we've switched to GCEA rules? And now I look and feel like a total freaking idiot because I didn't get approved. And I'm now gonna have to do a rebattle of shame because I apparently can't read or something.

Sorry I should have corrected people in the practice battle but I kinda forgot since it didn't matter if you won or not and I wasn't sure if we would ever do more battling. My fault. Feel free to edit your first gym battle post and then I will edit mine with the approval :)

Nah it's my fault for misunderstanding the rules. Truth be told it was somewhat comforting to see I wasn't the only one who made that mistake, but I was really embarrassed to find out that because of it I had lost the battle. I've edited accordingly!

You have plenty of pokemon that no one on our team has evolved yet, so I'd suggest planning for future gym battles. Magikarp, Vulpix, Bulbasaur, mankey, poliwag, clefairy, and others are all ones no one has evolved yet in our team.

Our next gym leader is Misty, followed by Lt. Surge, then by Eirika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine and Giovanni, if I recall correctly. We may also have to expect the E4, so Ice, Fighting, Ghost and basically Flying will also join the ranks, to say nothing of a potential encounter by Blue. I say go for the Vulpix and Poliwag Evolution.

I realized I had a similar problem in that almost all of my good pokemon are weak to psychic types, so I'm using my evolution to evolve caterpie and eventually metapod into beautifly.

Thinking about shinyfying either my zubat or my seel. Not sure which.

I don't think there are many psychic type pokemon that aren't dual type, so hopefully if you haven't evolved your caterpie or found ghastly (Which wouldn't help much anyway since its part poision and poison as weak to psychic) you can push your way through with other types.

Well, to be fair, I don't either - seems like a massive cluster-mess. With a precise strike, though, even with the massive... Misunderstandings going on right now, I think we can take it over. If three/four people attacked and placed some Pokemon at nearly the same time, in order from weakest to strongest, the odds of losing would be low.

Edit: It appears only one person remains that can actually beat Team Valor in the gym in Team Mystic - at least, until I get my evolution. Assuming no additional Pokemon are placed, it is up to them to start the assault. They are also one of the people to have already visited the place.

Anyway, I think valor has it good and locked down until I can evolve something or find onix, they just have too many flying types for me to beat them all and remove a pokemon.

Actually... You can beat them and you might be our only hope, as I can't help but think about Onix's sub-type. Let me remind you that M-Gyarados is no longer part flying-type by mega evolving, and flying is weak to Electric and Ice.

So there's an Ice Island Shrine all of a sudden...But I can't get in, I need a password.

Also, I can't do anything in the gym challenge because I have only one type supereffective against flying and everyone's a flying type. If anyone wants a siege they can't do it with me until there's only one remaining.

I suggest taking a look at Neo's/Max's/Suicune's Pokemon and checking who can use what type, because if it's at all possible to force them to be unable to participate we can easily start to gain momentum, like how I can't do anything other than sit here right now.

That's my plan for when we start adding Pokémon again. My Alakazam is a pretty tough one to beat, because apart from a Butterfree I don't think it can be beaten by anyone else (yay, the Gen I Psychic type is utterly broken).

In other words, the only other Pokemon I can think of that can defeat it (or Hypno for that matter) are either (a) the unreleased Scyther/Pinsir, or (b), a Mega Gyarados, which our friend Max DOES in fact have, unfortunately. Neo has a butterfree so this makes it awkward.

The likes of Kangaskhan and Gengar could be good additions. I have a Kangaskhan, but I'm not sure if any of the Valour kids have any Fighting-type Pokémon.

That is a very good point, now that you think about it. Seems like Gengar is our best option.

Psychic type itself is actually pretty rare, and Valor hasn't really pulled out any Grass or Flying types that are fully evolved...Perhaps take in Tentacruel to the gym? It would lose only to Electric or Psychic due to its typing, both of which are rather rare.

Tentacruel is a good idea, but now that Electabuzz and Mr Mime are going to be more common, I'm worried. However, if we added another Pokémon that was only weak to Psychic or Electric, that'd be a good idea. And speaking of which, I actually need to get a good Electric-type Pokémon, because that Gyarados stops me from being able to take part. :(

Yeah it'll depend on the feedback I receive :) I wouldn't want the prizes to be too good though, since Team Instinct can't really compete with their few active members. So it would most likely be fun/aesthetic prizes rather than ones that impact the game too much (evolutions).

Valour has that Gym firmly under their control right now. I'll try and see if I'm able to fight back. Dewgong would be good against the Gyarados too because of Ice, so hopefully I can evolve my Seel at some point.

Welp. Until this evolution shenanigan wears off, or the rules change, I am physically unable to beat the Cinnabar gym (even on normal) because aside from Electabuzz V. Charizard and Golem V. everything, I can't win. I'd theoretically have to hatch an egg to get an evolution. Wanting max victories I would then need to get an Eevee to evo into Vaporean and Ormanyte.

Lapras is useless in the gym, no double-type weakness so it all just ties.

Welp. Until this evolution shenanigan wears off, or the rules change, I am physically unable to beat the Cinnabar gym (even on normal) because aside from Electabuzz V. Charizard and Golem V. everything, I can't win. I'd theoretically have to hatch an egg to get an evolution. Wanting max victories I would then need to get an Eevee to evo into Vaporean and Ormanyte.

Lapras is useless in the gym, no double-type weakness so it all just ties.

Let me know if the gym is actually too hard. I just kind of make them up and am happy to edit them :x I think I might swap a fully evolved Pokemon for a basic Pokemon. It was annoying cos there are no fire middle evolutions!

Charmeleon is a middle-evo Fire type. Charizard wouldn't be really redundant considering it's differently-typed on evolution and Gym Leaders are proven to be mildly redundant in some cases as well. Plus, there would be no difference except the names and redundancy if you had 4 magmars and a charizard in the gym as it stands right now, as opposed to 4 different pure fire types.

For that matter I think Blaine had a Ponyta in his team as well, but I may not recall correctly. So a basic and medium fire type, a fire-flying final, and two other fire finals. That would probably cinch victory (you could skip Ponyta for a 4th fire final if you want this to be hard hard, but I wouldn't say that).

Yeah I'm trying not to double up on evolution lines. I know its technically redundant but yeah. I thought Charizards dual typing would make it ok to face since its pretty easy to get an Electabuzz. but yeah, we'll see how people go, I may adjust it again. Winning all 5 battles is not really expected, but I want winning 3 to be possible for the badge for everyone participating in the gym battle side of things.

I don't really wanna use too many non-final evos coz everyone has access to Pokemon that don't evolve (kangaskhan, farfetchd, hitmons etc) that can own anything without a type advantage xD

We cannot make a dent in their ranks by ourselves in that power plant. We need to set a time to assault together, sort of like a mini-event. I'll be available for a looong time now, so it's a matter of what Mystics are available when.

Is there any specific Pokémon anyone needs taking out of the Gym in order to start a full-on assault? I keep forgetting to ask that when I remove Pokémon. :(

I was capable of sweeping... But then they put a Tauros in there. Remove one of the normal types.

He kind of got me because I forgot to edit my battle to include the Vaporeon. I can't do anything now either. I just need something to evolve my Mankey.

EDIT: Have you hatched an Egg yet? You'll get access to an evolution if you hatch an Egg, then you can evolve your Mankey and defeat Tauros.
