Talking with Fate tonight I got a new idea while listening to some old video game music.

Here, I will post a theme. The idea is to post a video to fit THAT theme. A song or something from a video game (video game music). It can be anything from an old style game, to new style or a movie, or an actual song. Whatever that will fit the theme!

This track always stuck out to me in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. I think it's a slightly altered definition of brilliance, but it still fits. It's really calm and pleasant to listen to, but it also feels majestic somehow. Like you've walked into somewhere brilliant. XD I don't know.

This is actually the anime rendition of the track, which I think fits my definition better than the R/S one.

The Lunar series was another one of those RPG games that once had a good run. Too bad it didn't take off like Final Fantasy. I would've loved to see the Lunar games continued today. This particular track starts playing once the story really kicks off. Major points have finally kicked in. It's a big change from the happy fun times kind of song you usually hear instead.

Usually when I listen to this while writing it means I'm trying to write a scene where a character is suspicious about the identity or something else about another character and wants the truth, so it fits the theme pretty well in my opinion.

Even though I created the theme myself for "Truth"....I didn't have a set track yet. I never really do honestly. I sat on youtube...debating on which one to post after I thought of the perfect one. Honestly, almost any track from this game could work. In the end. I went with the one I think was "really" about truth and "pursuit" of it. If anyone knows me well enough, they know I like a good mystery. The Ace Attorney games are no exception. They're still some of my favorite games (if you haven't yet, be sure to check it out!)

This song right here. This was one of the biggest and most powerful scenes I've ever dealt with in a Fire Emblem game. The sheer amount of emotion and power behind this chapter and what's happening. I was nearly stunned how amazing it was. Especially after what just happened. The entire level itself was set to the mood as well. I can't help, but get chills every time I listen to this piece.

I tried doing the same thing for Gemma awhile back. Buying Ori and the Blind Forest for her. It wouldn't let me (then again it's good because it doesn't support Mac. So she wouldn't have been able to play it =/ ). I still dunno why it won't let anyone buy it for a friend. It's been that way since the Definitive Edition came out.

Some reason. When I heard this playing through the game. The meaning of the song really changed over time. It only got deeper and deeper the more I heard it and felt the connection between the characters and what's happened. What's GOING to happen soon if not for you and your party. The Vindictus team and their music team only gets better and better, I swear. That was the first 24 man raid boss and that dragon is one of the most fearsome in many of the MMOs out there. I think you'd like Vindictus if you gave it a try one day. Free-to-play too.

Road of the Dead is a flash game, but it's awesome and the action refuses to stop. It's a good, quickie game that's pure, raw fun and action for free.

Next theme: Unexpected Difficulty and Rage!

Ohhhh, this was a toughy to figure out, but, after some deliberation. I went with this one because....you can't NOT choose Sans when it comes to a tough fight. It'll cause you such raaaaaaage for a long time. SO long you may give up for awhile and have to come back after some time. Anyway, enough talk. Let's have a bad time ;)

Epic Battle Fantasy 4 is a pretty fun, lighthearted, and casual RPG with a lot of fun goofiness and great gameplay. The battles generally aren't too difficult and some of the boss battles can be beaten in one or possibly two sittings (two if things just didn't work out all that great the first time). Generally, it's pretty easy-going.

But the last battle is BRUTAL and if you're not ready for it...

...you're gonna have a bad time.

Godcat (Creator and Destroyer) is HARD. If you don't constantly buff and heal yourself, you're just going to suffer. You can have round after round of doing nothing for damage simply because you spent all that time just recovering the damage and undoing all the debuffs.

Today's Theme: Everyday Hardships

Some games are fun, some are exciting, some are dramatic, some are heartwarming. The Last of Us was pretty good at all of the above. It's a story filled with a lot of moments of fear, courage, and happiness...with whatever little they can find in such an apocalyptic world. So this particular track hits very hard when you can understand the true meaning and power behind it and what the little things as such can mean.

In every war, there are two sides. Combatants and non-combatants. Instead of dropping you into the battleground as a soldier, This War of Mine has you as a civilian struggling to survive the hardships and agony of being in the middle of a warzone. Sometimes there are no good choices beyond the ones that keep you alive. And at the end of it all, what will your story be? What kind of different person will you have become when the last shot is fired?

This particular track is actually played at the ending, when the summary of all your actions, choices, what you did and who you helped is displayed.

Today's Theme: Dramatic Fight

Stories in both video games and movies can be great. Happy, exciting, thrilling, but not all have such a happy ending. Some may lead to tragic events or in the worst case, a very tragic end. Today's theme is all about the most dramatic fights out there.

Kingdom Hearts may have started out looking like it was all about happiness, friends, believing this or that (not Naruto). Over 10 years later it's so much deeper than that. There's a number of times where there's fights can get intense. Just as it can in many of the high tier games out there. Square Enix really knows how to handle story telling if they take the time to handle it with the care it needs. Though it's also thanks to Disney that it turns out so well. Even if there's Disney to it, the story itself leading up to Kingdom Hearts 3 is pretty dark. It's had many of its "not so happy" moments. It's just one of those series I recommend you check out if you haven't had that chance yet

Today's Theme: A Final Determination

Games near the end always seem to pick up in pace. Both in story and how dramatic the soundtrack may get. Golden Sun: The Lost Age is no different. This track starts playing after you finally make a resolve with the characters and decide to make that final push. The one to light the final beacon on the Mars Lighthouse. Doing what everyone thinks that will save the world (or parts of it) and bring Alchemy back into the world. It'll take everything you all have to do it, but all you can do is keep moving forward with determination.

Today's Theme: Calm and Relaxing

You guys already know from what I've posted over the forum. There's been a good number of MMOs I've played. The first one I ever started with I've never mentioned yet. It's called RF Online. I started it back in high school. Sadly that venture only lasted about a year. As the next year the company that ran it decided to stop. So they closed down the servers for good....so my friend and I though. Senior year in high school. I ran across a website for it. Suddenly, it seems it was being brought back. So I had to share it with my friend. We loved seeing it. Especially since they had so many events for it starting up again (with this new company though). Best one was, they had 3 events where they were giving out leave 50 characters with the class and design of your choice. We didn't get the first 2, but the 3rd one. To our surprise, we were part of the lucky 5 to win! So we got to send them how we wanted our characters. One day we login and everything was as we designed it. Except one thing....the characters gender. Suddenly we were both stuck playing our special level 50 characters (which would normally take months of play to even get. I really like this track and lot, and to me, it captures everything mysterious and of course, it's from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. Honestly this game was waaaaaaaaay shorter than I thought it would be. The game in every way really surprised me. Even the difficulty of normal mode at first. The music was epic in every way too! This kind of music really keeps you on edge during intense battles. Cannot wait patiently for KH 3 anymore. XD

This track usually ends up playing during the optional boss fights, and after you beat the game initially and want to clean out all the extra stuff, you'll run into plenty of these. You can also tune them to be as easy or as tough as you want.

I like this track because it jams hard, fast and furious, which is perfect for some of the very fast-paced, intense, and challenging boss fights.

Another Vindictus track, but I got hooked on this one. I used to get so annoyed by this battle, but now that it's been a few years that this particular battle has been out. If I went back to play it, there would probably be no battle for it that'd be easily lost. It'd be rare to lose in it with all the new limitations/restrictions and attacks and stuff. I can't think of one track from the Vindictus soundtrack that wouldn't fit well here under a theme.

Tales of Symphonia was the first Tales of game that I played. Still today I'm playing Veseria when I can. I know the new one even came out not too long ago. These battle songs only seemed to get better. In fact, I loved Tales of Symphonia so much once I got it that I couldn't stop playing it. I must've played through it about 10-12 times xD. Each time you beat it you can use points you earn to add special bonuses to the game. Like 2x exp or more. Make it harder even was some options. I loved those and each time it seemed to get a little better. Doing more of the options or secret events each time. It was so fun! The battle system was just as awesome! Man I still miss it...

This game is great, tactical fun and you hear this battle music a LOT, but it's great and it'll never bother you because it's just that good.

Only thing I didn't like too much about this game was the "Chaos Frame" system. Basically, it was a hidden karma-like stat that determined what special characters you could recruit, what kind of ending you got (I kept getting the same, very bleh ending again and again), and other stuff like that, and your score was only revealed to you at the end of the game. Also, you either had to have the strategy guide or do a LOT of Google searches to find so many secret characters and ways to recruit them. You would miss like half of the game's special content, hidden troop classes, items, and so on if you didn't resort to Internet searches while playing.

Despite that stuff, it's still a fun game and lets you mess around with a lot of cool classes and stuff.

This game I actually recently picked up and play in some spare time (Final Fantasy Brave Exvius). it's a pretty cool game to sit back and play for a bit and has some really neat tracks. Gameplay is a bit repetitive as most mobile games are, but this track was pretty catchy for beating a boss that is supposed to be considered a "beast" and uncontrollable.

Basically I chose this one because there were tons of games I liked playing with my brother and friends when I was younger. This one was a really fun one we played together on the Nintendo 64. Oh Days of Ruin was fun, don’t get me wrong! I just didn’t have as much fun with that one compared to the others. I just feel ratings didn’t fare so well either compared to the others. I’d LOVE to see another someday though. I loved the series.

When this theme plays in Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Man I can feel some serious chills at times. How within 3 days time you’ve tried to do everything to prevent the destruction of the entirety of Termina and of not, the world. How if you don’t stop the coming devastation. Not only will you die, but everyone in the surrounding area and the world will undoubtedly fall to ruin soon after. Just like in Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. It’s a race against the clock. While time is not on your side.

The reason this song has such an amazing 'This ends here' vibe is because this is the main pursuit them used from the first game in the series, and it only starts playing once you reach the final portion of the final game in the trilogy. Hearing this familiar tune just always pumps me up so much, and reminds me I'm on the home stretch.
