For an indie game being developed by ONE person, this game has grabbed my attention pretty tenaciously. For one: it has THE FLASHIEST combat of any game I've seen in a very long time. The guy basically fights like Vergil from Devil May Cry, lightning quick (even warping) hack-and-slash insanity. And I think that is definitely one game from which the developer is drawing inspiration due to the whole look alike protagonist/antagonist deal. There is definitely some inspiration from Final Fantasy as well. You can see it in the crystal and the main character's design to an extent. Tokyo Ghoul might even be a source of inspiration based on the antagonist's mask. The dragon seems awfully familiar, but I can't quite say what it reminds me of.
Anyways, I don't want to get my hopes up for another indie game that could let me down, but this was a very pleasant surprise. Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

Woooah, this looks incredible for something developed by a single person. I really hope he used pre-made assets...because that's a lot of environments. xD I'm kind of concerned that the only thing being shown is the combat, though; it seems as if the rest of the game could be fairly lacking. Like the purpose would be exploring while hacking up enemies as you go (given it's post apocalyptic), but it's probably too early to tell right now.
But it looks incredible so far. I wonder how long it's been in development.

From what I've read, two years using paid assets.
But HOLY CRAP, the combat is very smexy. I'd love to know what system this game is going to be for because it's definitely something that screams to be looked into.

It's incredible by any standard, more so that it has a single developer, whom I suppose did all the voiceovers too. Exploring probably won't be the main thing given that it looks so much like DMC. There were no RPG standards shown either, such as acquiring equipment or leveling up. This will be a hack-and-slash in which we slice our way through enemy infested regions to open the next cutscene which sets us up for another boss battle, methinks. I'm not concerned at all that they only showed combat. Too many trailers show everything but actual gameplay which is the main thing I want to see. I can endure a subpar story if the mechanics keep me entertained, though to be honest the way this game is set up it looks like it will have an amazing story to go along with it.

Based on the guy's sources of inspiration it's definitely going to be on PS4. No doubt about it.
Edit: One thing I will say is that it seems to be lacking in aerial combos, among a few other things. But we'll see more in the future so I'm not being too critical about it now.

It brings me relief that he did not make them all on his own. XD

Oh yeah, the combat is extremely impressive. I reckon you're about right; I haven't played any hack and slash games, really, so I'm unfamiliar with them. Still such an interesting looking game. c: Thanks for sharing!
