Anyone excited for this game as much as I am? Just so people know, the open Beta for Battlefield 1 is August 31st while the official release date is October 21st.

As a Battlefield 4 junkie (almost 900 hours logged into that puppy!), I'm pretty excited for this game and I'm hoping my computer can handle it. I figured if it can handle BF4 pretty well, it should be able to handle this. I also signed up for the Beta and I'm curious to see what it's like. I have watched a few gameplay videos and it seems to be very similar in style to BF4's gameplay, which is good, because I honestly like it a lot and wouldn't want them to deviate from it.

If I manage to get into the Beta and it seems like things are working, I'll let you guys know how it is.

My brother loves Battlefield (he was a COD fanboy before meeting Battlefield...then never went back to COD) but I haven't played much before. I should, because I enjoyed being a sniper rifle scum playing for all of the three seconds I played it for. xD I think it was Battlefield 3 that I played back when that had just come out.

But yeah, no doubt my bro will get this and then I'll probably have a go. cx

I'm kind of the same way. COD used to be good, but then it just got ridiculous. I like the Battlefield series much more for the fact that the maps are bigger and there are vehicles to drive. Using the vehicles is a great way to get around or bump up your score by a lot while blowing up enemy vehicles comes with its own feeling of satisfaction also.

So I've been playing the Beta for Battlefield 1 and I'm pretty impressed. I've reached past Rank 21 and I can honestly say it's fun and it does feel like a great addition to the series. The only issue is my computer chokes somewhat as it's running it, but even on Low settings, it still looks pretty good (I think I need to talk to my brother for computer upgrading advice). Tanks are fun, planes are fun, I feel if you liked the previous Battlefield games, you'll like this too. It's definitely different from BF4, but it's great and I'm looking forward to the official release.

The Sinai Desert map that is featured in the Beta is a decent map. Probably won't be my favorite, but it feels balanced and there are some neat features like the juggernaut train that is given to the side that really isn't doing too well (if it's pretty even-matched, it doesn't show up) as well as plenty of buildings and mountainsides to hide in.

Well, Battlefield games are pretty different from CoD games. A lot of people compare the two just because they're first person shooters, but they both have a lot of differences.

It's hard to say if BF1 is better than BF4. Judging from the Beta, I'd say they're on even grounds judging from what I've seen so far. However, since BF1 is loosely based on WWI, just about every weapon, vehicle, and tool is completely different although there will be a lot of parallels, such as dynamite replacing C4, although it works pretty much the same way as it did in BF4.
