Introduction to Tokens

The staff decided that it would be a good idea if we could physically congratulate members of the community for their contributions and achievements across the site and forum. Therefore, the idea of a token came to existence.

A Token is an image which represents an achievement or congratulations on contributing to specific areas of the site. Whether you contribute consistently to the site by posting articles, or even if you're a prolific writer, there will be a Token for you. These Tokens, when awarded, will be located in your User Profile, under the tab called Tokens. There, you will be able to see how many Tokens you have and also allow you to see other peoples achievements.

Obtaining Tokens

After having a general idea of what Tokens are, you might be wondering how you would obtain them. There are currently 2 types of tokens. They are User Requested Tokens, which require you to reach a certain level before you can request them, and also Rewarded Tokens, which are decided on by the staff and other members of the site.

An example of User Requested Tokens is the Hardest Boulder Token, you are required to have over 100 posts on the forum. When you achieved the certain requirements, you can post in this thread to request the Hardest Boulder Token.

For Rewarded Tokens you do not need to post in this thread, to highlight yourself to the staff for a certain token. For example; for Kalos Professor Token, the forum staff of Pokemon X and Y will nominate certain members from the forum and maybe award the Tokens.

Please do note that we will be updating Tokens ever so often, so there will be more coming soon. Any updates will be mentioned in the Forum Update Thread.

Aqua doesn't have a token yet. It's up to your team leader to make/find one for me to add to the system, so you can bug rust about it. :)

I should have then on my uni laptop but I don't have it with me. They should all still be on the server in our WordPress files, it's just that they were moved so the url changed. If you have access to the WordPress, you should be able to find then in the media library by searching for the name within the old url. If not, I will get to it at some point but I don't have the time right now, sorry :(

I call it Neko Style. If you two are cool, I will get a list up (Neko asked) so that she can start working on the ones we're missing or is broken so far.

I don't mind replacing any old tokens (barring the ones WAR leaders made, of course) or anything. They don't typically take long, so long as you're not asking for a Mega Ray token or anything. It gives me something to do aside from being a permanent lurker.

Edit: I'll resume working on the badges, but if there's any specific ones you want redone or made, please please please let me know. I feel so useless here at PXR 99% of the time. (Sometimes I need a nudge to get working on tokens though. I forget)

Either there's a folder on DevianArt somewhere (I know I've seen some PXR folders there recently). That or Sarah might have them listed somewhere in a hidden part of the forum xD. I know most forums have those.

Either way the badges I've seen are really great. Even the one for the recent Valentines event was good! Yeah ones for being a member for so long sounds great. Right off I can't think of anything too creative, but if I think if something great I'll let you know.

I've only remade the first three badges- so anything other than those I didn't make. And yes, they're located elsewhere on the forums. xD I'll be remaking the older ones that need it over time.
I can access the modcp panel and list out all the current generic ones we have along with their token images for reference as soon as I get back on my laptop :3

That's fine. I just want to help the tokens look more awesome- I'd never want to replace any of the special user made ones (like the War ones) though. That'd just be mean. Only the ones that pretty much use screenshots from the anime or photos, etc.

Is there a place I can see all existing tokens? For now I'm working on the badges, but I'll finish them eventually.

I'm not sure exactly what we should do for the 20th anniversary. I guess either something to do with red/blue/kanto like the starters or just anything you think could represent it. I'm really open to anything. I just think it would be really cool to have custom art on the site banner! :)

[Generally on a forum, adding /modcp to the end of the base url will get you to that. Obviously it will then ask you to log in and not work if you shouldn't have access.]

Also, should there be tokens for Team Magma and Jupiter Mining Corporation in WAR II (and/or a URPG equivalent of the ASB one that apparently exists)? Also, I feel like I should have "From the Beginning of Time" though I didn't do a ton for that.

There should be, but I got lazy and never ended up making a JMC one. XD It was up to people of that team to make their own token for it, so nobody from Magma made a token. Well, I'm not sure about the Beginning of Time one. xD I don't know who should have them and who shouldn't. (As in, how much contribution would earn you one.)

Someone may have already suggested this but I thought of something. Maybe if someone has an art thread, Sprite thread, or Fanfiction thread, if they reach a certain milestone they get a token? So if the Fanfiction reaches say twenty-five chapters or they finish the story they get a token or if they create ten sprites or a hundred art pieces they get a token. I don't know, just a thought.
