Hello everybody ! I am Cleobel and I am a 17 year old girl (I will turn 18 on February 26, in less than one month). I was born in Italy and I have been living in Belgium since September 2009. I have been playing Pokémon since January 2009 and I have registered on this forum to make new friends and to improve my English. Effectively, I had no English lessons at the high school and I am learning it now at the college. So, I am sorry for the mistakes.
My first Pokémon game is Pokémon Pearl and I began my first Pokémon adventure with Turtwig, but my favorite Pokémon is Chikorita. I have played every Pokémon generation and I have a lot of Pokémon games. I began shiny hunting in 2012 and I am currently searching for shiny Pansear and Panpour at Santalune Forest in Pokémon X and Y (I already have a shiny Pansage). Most of the time, I do full-odds shiny hunting (1/8192 or 1/4096).

Do you only play the games, or do you watch the show too? I used to watch the show until the English voices changed--but I'll still watch classic English episodes or a subbed Japanese episode every so often.

If you do watch the show, who is your favorite character?

The best way to learn a language is to watch something in the language you're learning--if you like, I can show you some English Pokemon episodes for you to practice listening.

Your English is very good despite your having just learned it! I started with Pokemon Diamond (well technically the rescue team games but diamond was my first trainer game), so we're in the same vein!

I see you enjoy shiny hunting! We have shiny hunting threads in all the games's respectful sections so definitely post there if you want to inform us of your findings! I know people, including myself, would love the Masuda Method help!

Your favorite pokemon is Chikorita? Did you play Heartgold and SoulSilver then?

Chikorita was my first Pokemon in a game when I first started playing in Pokemon Silver! It holds a very special place in my heart because of that! ^_^

Hey, you English is fantastic! Even if it's not your first language you speak it as if it were! I used to shiny hunt back in X and Y, but haven't really done it since then. It got too tiring for me. So since Sun and Moon I haven't even tried yet. Although, I really Donnelly shiny hunting since I can breed to get good IV sets for them. Being a shiny too at that!

PXR here is a very friendly community. So feel free to ask any one of us a question if you have any, or if you just wanna talk and make a few new friends! PXR here is the perfect place for that!

Ah so your favorite Pokémon is Chikorita? That's cool! Just a quick tip, almost everyone here is using an avatar of their favorite Pokémon ;D

Noblejanobii : Which Pokémon would you like for Masuda method ?
I have played Pokémon Soulsilver and I chose Chikorita as my starter Pokémon. I also have Pokémon Heartgold, but until now, I have only used it to soft reset the Johto starters, not for the adventure. I have found a shiny Cyndaquil and a shiny Totodile, so I plan to hunt Chikorita, but probably not by soft resetting in Heartgold, so I don't find another Cyndaquil or Totodile.

Nice to meet you! For someone learning English as a second language, you're speaking it better than most people who've grown up with the language as their native tongue. I'm sure you'll make lots of friends here, because it's such a friendly and relaxed community. Also, good to know that you picked the best Sinnoh starter in Turtwig. :D

My favorites are Ash, Misty, Brock, Serena, and Pikachu.

Welcome to the club, and welcome to what's probably one of the most difficult languages to learn XD, people who have been speaking it for all their lives *cough* like me *cough* still have trouble with it. I've got quite a few shinies as well, some through masuda breeding, and some through the sheer amount of IV breeding that I've done in the past

One of my favorite quirks about English is the difference in pronunciation between man's laughter and manslaughter. Has there been anything that you've run into that makes you scratch your head and wonder "why"? If so, that you're definitely getting the hang of the language XD
