I know I said this would be a black and white comic buuuuut expect some color from time to time. I wanted to make the blood stand out, hope it looks okay. And oooh a snivy I wonder who that could be?

Your Snivy drawing is pretty good. I've drawn Snivy before, and it's not the easiest Pokémon to draw either.

Anyway, the opening storyline is pretty good and gets you thinking. I, for one, would definitely like a PMD game with more grit to it, but it doesn't have to be over the top.

Snivy is one of those pokemon that's extremely difficult but I've practiced it for several years now. Still need a reference image though.

The downside to having preset uploads is you sometimes forget that you updated until two hours later. Anyway, more color! I actually purposely used a purple sharpie to make that dark blue crack. Recognize this? It's the dial from PMD: TDS! You might be wondering why the lack of the outline that's been present in the other pages. The answer is simple really. I realized in a previous page I can't show as much detail if I use the two sharpies that I have with me at college, so for now we'll just stick with pencils yeah?

And another page with a little color! And we've officially seen our second protagonist! In case you didn't catch it, page 3 featured one of our main three protagonists. The umbreon is another one. The third, however, will not be officially shown until probably chapter 2. This page is probably the closest you'll come to seeing her, and she's not even really shown here. Either way, get excited! Chapter 1 starts next week!

Haha well like I said she's not even really shown, but she is at the same time. She's in the dimensional hole to be precise, which while you can't really see her inside, you can see the hole, which is the closest you'll probably come to see of her for a while.

And here we go! Page 1! The story has officially begun! No main character appearances yet, but finally two of my babies get to appear in their own comic. After years and years of cameos in other comics, Lucky the shiny eevee gets to appear in the comic he was always meant to be in. And since Spirit the Quilava did not win the main character contest for PMDXR, I decided he should appear here instead as a barista! He is the owner of this café! No idea who the sunkern and mudkip are though.

Like even though it is really little in the background, it's got a really adorable expression and I like the jewelry kinda thing you added to the leaves! :D

The poses I struggle the most with nowadays are sitting. Spirit, the mudkip, and the sunkern weren't all that difficult, but having Lucky sit in this page and Luna sit in another page were very difficult. I hope that I'll get better at it, because Lucky looks really weird in this picture. And thank you! I'm glad you really like the Sunkern!

More like a therapy session but yeah she can't remember for reasons that'll be elaborated on in the future! Luna's bandanna is actually based on the Friendship Bow from PMD Blue Rescue team. Since she's based on that character, I'm having her carry the same item. As for the speech bubbles, I actually write what I want to say in the bubble first, then white it all out and add the text. I have to adjust the text size quite a bit to fit the bubbles sometimes. I might switch to digital bubbles later on though.

Well well well, I wondering who the monsters with odd smirks and a leader with a mouth in its stomach could be! We're almost to the point where the plot begins to roll, just another page or two. And despite how it may appear this page had the largest amounts of digital edits to it so far.

I had to refer to reference pictures the whole time and dusknoir didn't scan well which required me to do a ton of digital edits for him. It was annoying.

No doubts about it but it's key to her backstory.

Well technically red and blue, but Luna is based on my Blue Rescue Team run so that's why I specified. Mm I don't think so? If I did I don't anticipate it's a huge one. You just know quite a bit of her backstory now because she's the human from the meteor crisis.

The lesson to be learned here is I can't draw Riolu. Anyway, experimenting with speech bubbles and stuff. You'll have to forgive me for testing stuff out these first few pages while I'm still figuring out what works best for me. Still, this page does advance the plot, you'll see why later.

The wooper is talking to a kabuto! And yep you'll meet Excalibur in about three more pages (though you won't actually know which one is him for probably five-ish more).

Some of you from PXR might recognize some of those characters. The cyndaquil, eevee, torchic, and squirtle were the main characters from my PMD: Sky nuzlocke run few months back, Team DAB and Team Deus Vult. Sadly we are not seeing them in a happy note, it seems that smiles are not all around.

Of course! They're the best of friends. Ditto even helps give the little Mimikyu inspiration for new costumes!

I tried to diversify as much as possible while still including Pokémon I could draw. I discovered honedge is not one of those Pokémon. And I'm glad you like him! He might appear again. Who knows! Welcome to Avalon Guild! Yes it is run out of an old Pelipper Post Office. No a pelipper is not the guildmaster, but he does work for the guild. You'll get to meet the guildmaster next page. This is just currently Avalon Guild's headquarters due to some unfortunate circumstances that took place prior to the comic. Either way, this was so much fun to draw.

Also cameo in the lower left hand corner. That Pikachu and Treecko? They were one of the teams I played and beat PMD Explorers of Darkness with. They were Team ElectricLeaf if I recall correctly, with the Pikachu named Patrick and I don't remember the Treecko's name. It was probably my name. Who knows.

Oh good it's noticeable! That's what I was going for, it's a worn down Pelipper's Post Office. This is a post-war era after all. I'm glad you like all the pokemon! I was trying to diversify a little. I worked really hard to make sure Amaura and Rowlett looked good because I don't usually dry them. AND YES THE FLUFFY BUTT. And thank you, I'm glad it looked good.

And here he is! It's Guildmaster Excalibur but with a few other guests. It seems they are having a very important meeting. I wonder if it's pertinent to the plot. Probably not.

Also I realized after uploading this that there is no bottom to that table. Just pretend.

In addition, after drawing several of these pages and thinking it over, I'd decided to reboot PPF, again. I know I know, I've already done it several times, but the story has evolved so much in such a short time that the beginning for this isn't going to work. There will be one more update following this, but after that PPF is going on hiatus until I finish sorting out everything. I'd like to have it all ready in two weeks but that's probably not going to happen. But I intend to get it right this time. I've contacted a friend of mine from high school who is going to help me sort out everything. He's helped me through writer's block many times before and no joke we stayed up until 2 AM last night working out a bunch of details for PPF's next iteration. In the mean time, I plan to post sketches and such to keep you guys occupied while I make progress. You'll get to see the characters be redeveloped and meet other new characters, etc. So I hope that you enjoy all of that in the mean time. No telling how long it'll take to get this done, but trust me, when PPF comes back, it's coming back permanently. No more reboots, no more just dropping off the face of the earth (unless exams or life happens), just PPF reborn.

Actually it was initially planned that one of the main characters from the reboot would be revealed to be a crossbreed but I won’t say who. They were just a late bloomer when it came to showing off the obvious signs.

I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t been able to draw as much as I’d like lately so I haven’t gotten much practice in. So it might be a while, if at all depending on how life goes. But I’ll keep you posted.

Actually it was initially planned that one of the main characters from the reboot would be revealed to be a crossbreed but I won’t say who. They were just a late bloomer when it came to showing off the obvious signs.

I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t been able to draw as much as I’d like lately so I haven’t gotten much practice in. So it might be a while, if at all depending on how life goes. But I’ll keep you posted.
