Plot

It’s finally come out! After a long awaited release and much anticipation, the most hyped Pokemon game for years has finally been released. And you are one of the lucky people to have gotten the game, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Challengers of Fate. You rush home and put the game into the latest Nintendo Wii Headset. Your hands shake a little in excitement as you place the headset on and recline on your bed. You relax a little as the ever familiar screen of the infamous personality quiz appears on screen in front of you.

But what you don’t realize, as you step into the latest world of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, is that all around the world, people are not waking up. Hours pass and they cannot escape. There’s no logout button. As you and thousands of other players enter the square of the base town, Discovery Village, you realize with horror that you are trapped. Unlike in previous games where the highest penalty you could face was losing money and items, now your life is on the line. And the only way out is to complete the game. It seems like a simple task, but the difficulty of these dungeons is unheard of for a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game. It harkens back to the days of Purity Forest in Red and Blue Rescue Team. This is no simple task by any means, you realize, but that will not stop you. You, along with many other players, are now on the ultimate quest to beat the first ever T-rated Pokemon game, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Challengers of Fate.

Rules
All PXR rules apply...
1: Please avoid bunnying (taking control of non-NPCs without permission) and godmodding
2: Let’s also avoid “invincible” characters… Yes, some characters have superpowers, no they cannot be invincible.
3: Please be active--if you’re going to be gone for an extended amount of time, try to notify someone in the RP beforehand, preferably me.
4:Be nice to everyone, if you’re going to have a fight or something take it elsewhere.
5: Keep posts PG-13 (on all fronts) and below, and limit use of profanity.
6: Any first stage pokemon may be selected. No legendaries, ultra beasts, or evolved pokemon may be chosen at the beginning. Pokemon such as Shaymin, Quilava, Guzzlord, or Tyranitar cannot be chosen because this is meant to represent a large scale MMORPG and it would be slightly unfair if not everyone started on a somewhat even playing field.
7: A slight exception to the rule above, if a pokemon has a pre-evolution classifying as a baby pokemon and has an evolution that follows, it may be selected. This means pokemon such as Pikachu, Togetic, and Chansey may be selected, but not pokemon like Lucario.
8: If you feel like you can make a case as to why you should be able to have a certain pokemon, please PM me and we can discuss. I am open to discussion to make this RP all the more successful. Please keep in mind that most final stagers and all legendaries are completely off limits, but I would be willing to negotiate some of the others if a case can be made for them.
9: Lastly, have fun!

Team Types
http://i.imgur.com/0J1gYBm.gifRescue Teams: The oldest type of team formed. This section of the guild is run by Asrai the Vaporeon. Teams is this section are allowed to take up to four members into a dungeon at a time. They can take on escort missions, retrieve lost items, and rescue pokemon from dungeons. The least risky of the teams but also the least rewarding. Tend to have missions in lower grade dungeons thus the rewards and items are not extremely valuable. However, Rescue Teams are allowed to explore higher level dungeons without need for a mission. In addition, if another team is stranded in any level dungeon, it is the duty of rescue teams to save them. Great for beginners who have never played a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game before.

http://i.imgur.com/vU1yg8W.gif Exploration Teams: The medium level difficulty when it comes to teams and the second oldest team type. Run by Raiju the Jolteon, teams are allowed to take up to three or four members into a dungeon depending on the difficulty of the dungeon and the size of the members. They can take on two types of missions: outlaw missions and exploration of newly discovered dungeons. This often leads them to more middle of the road dungeons but they can be sent to extremely high level dungeons depending on the mission. The rewards they reap often reflect what the difficulty of the dungeon they take on. Players who are more familiar with the franchise as a whole.

http://i.imgur.com/pbkquv2.gif Adventure Teams: The highest difficulty team and the newest type to be implemented in the franchise. Serving under Pyroli the Flareon, their sole purpose to leave the guild for days, weeks, or even months on end in game time to discover new dungeons and areas to explore. This is highly regarded as the most difficult because these teams tackle territory that has yet to be mapped out, so they have little to no knowledge of what they will be facing based on what they will be encountering. In addition, they are the only form of team able to use magnagates. Due to the fact that they are gone for long periods of time, it is not uncommon for these teams to use a magnagate dungeon as a quick way to get a supply run or a reinforcement run done. This is the highest rewarding team as they get first dibs on any rare items discovered in these dungeons but as a result it is leagues more dangerous. Only players who are extremely familiar with the mechanics of the franchise are recommended to join Adventure Teams.

Important Worldbuilding Details
It is important to remember that this takes place within a video game. It is in a similar environment and situation to franchises such as Sword Art Online, No Game No Life, or Log Horizon. As a result, the world of Challengers of Fate is very large and expansive, with the vast majority being unexplored because it is a brand new game. All pokemon featured in the franchise up to this point are able to appear within the game but only in environment where it would make sense. You’re not going to see a Charmander in an underwater dungeon.

Dungeons are seemingly everywhere outside the safe zones. While generally well-marked, there are various hidden dungeons throughout the game that can be easily stumbled upon accidentally. In addition, some dungeons can randomly change locations the further in the game you get. These dungeons labeled “Phantom Dungeons” by the trailers for the games are rumored to have great treasures within them, but are extremely dangerous and are highly advised to be avoided if you are unprepared. Rumor has it their spawning locations can be tracked, but how has not been revealed as of yet.

According to beta tester and officially released information, legendaries do appear as bosses in the later dungeons. However, the early dungeons only have middle and final stage pokemon as bosses. This does not make them any less difficult, so all bosses should be approached with caution. A new feature to bosses is that their locations are marked by large doors. Bosses do not have to be engaged until these rooms are entered. Outside of all these doors, a xatu statue rests, giving parties the option to leave the dungeon without penalty before facing the boss. Much like how dungeons always change shape every time you enter them, boss door locations will change each time, thus it is impossible to map a path to them. They can change sides, have obstacles spawn in front of them, and in some cases even change floors entirely. There are even rumors that sometimes the boss doors disappear completely during certain run throughs. Nevertheless, the same boss will always appear in the same dungeon, and the level, stats, and moves will always remain the same, therefore once a team gets to a high enough level, it would be hypothetically possible to use a boss as grinding fodder, as bosses give out high amounts of EXP. Not all dungeons have bosses, meaning that once they are found by one team, they can be explored by any team no matter what the level. However, dungeons with bosses are considered story elements, and must be cleared for a team to progress to the next dungeon with a boss. Thus, even if a dungeon with a boss has been discovered, if a team has not beaten the previous boss then the dungeon cannot even be challenged.

While it is required at the beginning of the game for players to create a team, players does not have to pick an NPC for a partner. Rather, the latest game allowed for players to pick other players to be their partner(s) if they so chose. Up to three players could form a team at the beginning. Players also have the option to disband their team and join other teams if they so wanted. After completing their first boss dungeon, teams are able to establish a base outside of their guilds. The purpose of this was meant to be a location where missions addressed specifically to a player or team could arrive, a place where teams could station NPCs or other players to deal with these missions, and act as another saving, spawning, and item storage point.

Players all start at level 5, as they have in games in the past. However, much like how certain pokemon in Explorers of Sky had access to special movies, every player has a randomly selected egg move in addition to the moves they usually start with.

While forced to pick one of the three teams types at the beginning, it is not impossible for teams to take on missions that are generally categorized for other team types. Teams can become allies and collaborate on missions, allowing for rescue teams to aid in adventure teams missions, and other combinations. This can be extremely beneficial as certain teams may have perks and abilities that make completing the dungeons much easier.

Should conflict arise between the team members, a player can be kicked out of or quit the team they are in by contacting a staff member about the issue. This allows them to either form a new team of their own or join another. This is also the only way to switch team types.

Reviver Seeds are available in the game. Their capabilities are that of those in previous games, preventing someone from dying in a dungeon, and the amount of healing they receive depends on the seed. However, they are much more scarce in this game. Reviver Seeds are dropped by phantom dungeon bosses only and cannot be bought or sold. They only work once and will turn into a plain seed afterwards, but only can be used seconds after the individual has died. Reviser Seeds are also present. The lookalike item revives and then kills the players again, and are found frequently in higher level dungeons. Other than the name and description, the item looks exactly like a Reviver Seed and can be easily confused.

As per usual with gaming, every user has a gamertag. It is a generally unspoken rule that when greeting a user, unless you know them prior and they have granted you permission to call them something else, you address them by their gamertag. If they give you permission to refer to them as something else then you may do so, however, prior to this point it is unacceptable.

Discovery Village is a large expansive town that is home to the guild, The Keep of Arcane Power, usually just referred to as “The Keep” for short. The Keep is by far the largest building in Discovery Village. While it is not actually in the town, many consider it within the grounds of the village anyway. The Keep is actually situated on a large hill just outside of Discovery Village. The path to town is often used as a training area for players, as there is a variety of training equipment from dummies to move strengtheners along the path. The Keep is eight floors high, with three floors underground as well. The main floor serves as a lobby where players come to register for their team and partner(s). Serving under Asrai the Vaporeon, Donovan the Dewott mans the recruitment desk for potential rescue teams. Serving under Raiju the Jolteon, Cyrus the Heliolisk serves as the main recruitment center for potential exploration teams. Working under Pyroli the Flareon, Cadence the Baile Oricorio helps potential adventure teams. The second floor acts as the mission distribution hub. Bulletin boards with tasks assigned to the different teams. This area is manned by Mason the Mantine and his three Mantyke helpers: Michael, Melina, and Mary. Mason also sorts the individual mail, so if a request is sent to a specific team, he makes sure it gets delivered to the right place. Non-members are not allowed beyond the second floor. The third floor acts as a residential area for teams, with it having three different wings with plenty of housing for all the teams. Teams are allowed to live on their own, of course, but only after they have established a proper base. In addition, in the case that the base is destroyed, their guild room will always act as a backup storage, save, and respawn point. In addition, the hub in the middle of where the three wings connect is where announcements are made by the guildmasters each day. The fourth floor contains the mess hall and guild member exclusive shops. Karmen the Ledyba acts as the chef, and can take special requests to make dishes that may be helpful on side quests. However, because of the large volume of pokemon she cooks for, Karmen needs several day’s notice of such a request, and she only cooks two meals a day, so teams are expected to deal with their hunger on their own in times other than meal servings. Nagib the Furfrou designs and customizes the player’s avatar. His shop can customize the hairstyles, eye color, markings, and team bandannas. Caitlín the Solrock mans the swap shop, allowing players access to exclusive items such as a Treecko Thorn after they’ve reached a certain level in the game. Shaquila the Quagsire runs a small café area where teams can converse, exchange missions, and purchase small drinks and berries for their trips. Timaios the Excadrill opens boxes that are found on missions and depending on the item, may offer a price to buy it from the player. Colton the Gallade acts as the move tutor, able to teach guild members egg and move tutor moves. He can also cause pokemon to relearn previously forgotten moves. The top floor of the guild acts as housing for the guildmasters, and when a team needs to consult them, this is where they will confer with the eeveelutions. BF1 of the guild acts as a mock dungeon dojo, manned by Naz the Glalie. Much like the dojos in previous games, it mimics a real dungeon but without the risk of death. BF2 is off limits to all players and is suspected to be the source of some major event towards the end of the game.

In Discovery Village itself, there are a variety of different wares shops. Some of the more notable are the food shop, the orb shop, the TM shop, the accessory shop, the storage shop, and the weapon shop. The food shop is run by Darian the Seaking, who sells everything from apples to seeds to berries. He is often open to negotiation with his prices, but does not pay high prices for anything you’re trying to sell back. The orb shop is run by Girish the Crabrawler. His prices are high and stay high but he also pays top dollar for any orbs you sell to him. Moses the Noctowl runs the TM shop. Depending on the TM, Moses’s prices can be quite high, but all of his TMs are reusable and he pays decent prices for the non-reusable TMs that are often found in dungeons. Elisheba the Torkoal runs the accessory shop. She usually sells power bands, pecha scarves, and other items sold to her by adventures, but she can make custom gear if a player so wished. The price is much higher and it will take time though. She will always buy items at their face value, never higher and never lower. Bashemath the Victreebel runs the storage. He crafts different chests and other storage items that allow players to keep items in their bases. He owns a storage facility than can be used, but he charges for it, so it is cheaper in the long run to buy a chest. Bashemath can also enlarge a player’s bag for free after the player has reached a certain team rank. Finally, Megaira the Jangmo-o runs the weapons shop. For most beginners all she will sell are sticks and geo pebbles, but as they grow to higher levels, they can access iron thorns and even some close combat weapons such as swords that are made custom for the player. There is also a much larger café run by Greyson the Minun and Jaswinder the Plusle where players can recruit NPCs and possibly obtain missions not listed on the bulletin board. It is also easy to keep up with current events here as Greyson and Jaswinder love to gossip.

Discovery Village is made in the shape of a circle with a plaza in the center where all players can be summoned to for special game related announcements. At the northern part of the plaza, the town hall rests. Currently, the mayor of the town is Ezekiel the Zweilous, and rumor has it that he is an integral part of the story. As players beat the bosses, the names of the players who beat a boss for the first time are put on plaques in town hall. If more than one team participates, then just the team names are put instead. The receptionist, Usha the Herdier, will give teams a prize for having their name on a plaque, though no one knows what it is just yet.

Discovery Village also features a park to the south of the plaza. While not very big, NPCs from all over come to visit. It is tended to by Lydie the Mawile who gives players items once a day that she finds while tending the park. Players can also locate missions here as well, sometimes extremely rare ones too depending on the NPC they are speaking with. Players can also pick flowers and berries here for quests. This is also the location of a variety of festivals that are held throughout the year ranging from battle tournaments to cooking contests.

Seasonal and holiday bosses are a feature of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Challengers of Fate. Because it is a Japanese based game, most of the events are based on Japanese holidays. While most are currently not known at this time, the one that was featured in the game’s trailers was a equinox and solstice celebration where the legendary birds were featured. Moltres appears for the spring equinox, Zapdos for the summer solstice, Lugia for the fall equinox, and Articuno for the winter solstice. These four appear at the top of Mt. Tempas, a dungeon with only one floor and only one pokemon, depending on the season. Mt. Tempas is special because it is the only place to encounter these bosses and is also the only location to prominently feature the seasons. At the base of the mountain is a village, Tenki Town. Deerling and Sawsbuck can change their seasonal forms here by speaking with Tut the Arbok, just outside the entrance of the dungeon. In addition, Tenki Town is a merchant village, with merchants changing out every season. They offer different items, training, and missions each season, so be sure to check back every so often to maximize usage of this feature.

Evolution has been advertised to be a prominent feature to the Challengers of Fate story. According to the trailers and beta testers, the plot of this story is that the Luminous Crystals and Springs sprinkled throughout the world all stopped working one day. These Crystals and Springs are required for evolution to take place, and disturbs many of the traditions within the villages of Challengers of Fate’s world. After hearing the different cries of these pokemon, you as well as many other humans were summoned to have fix the problem. The pre-release screenshots of the game showed that it was possible to evolve your starter and partner, however no beta testers made it far enough to confirm this theory.

Character Name: Sloane Jackson
Gamertag: MadderJanobii
Pokemon Species: Cyndaquil
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Personality: Janobii generally appears to be a jovial and upbeat person, always the optimistic if she can be. An avid pokemon fan, she knows quite a bit of random trivia as well as actual battle strategies, especially when it comes to the mystery dungeon franchise. She’s passionate about the franchise as well as protecting her friends. However, she can be a bit unstable, as if you push her buttons right her happy demeanor will quickly be replaced by anger or sadness. Madder usually steps in before it reaches this point but it’s best not to push it that far. Janobii is loyal to a fault and easily excitable, but, most importantly, always up for adventure.
Appearance: For now she looks like a normal Cyndaquil, but as soon as she gets the chance, she’s customizing her avatar to have a fluff of hair with purple dyed tips and her team’s bandanna will be purple with a top hat on it.
Moveset: Tackle, Leer, and Flare Blitz

Character Name: Brent Hughes
Gamertag: Madder_Hatter
Pokemon Species: Zorua
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Personality: Madder is a mischievous little guy that loves to mess with others. Deep down he is a caring person, but only to those close to him, like Janobii. He is quick to jump to protect those around him, but is very pessimistic and has quite the violent side. He tends to act without thinking, his impulsive actions leaving quite the toll on him sometimes. Still, this doesn’t stop him, as Madder is the type to not stop something once he’s started unless he absolutely has to.
Appearance: He currently looks like a normal Zorua, but once he gets the chance he’s going to turn all the colored parts of his body (ie the hair tuft, his feet, his eyes, etc) gray. He’ll also be wearing a top hat once he’s able to purchase the accessory. He has the same team bandanna as Janobii.

His greatest fear is losing his friends, as he uses them as his emotional support whenever he loses confidence in himself. He's a huge PMD fan and a great puzzle solver, but his greatest passion is bounty hunting.
Appearance: He looks like a normal Type: Null except his mask is silver and his eyes are gold. He still wears his previous team's bandana, which is an orange and red bandana with a golden music note.

I'm interested. I will say that the introduction feels like a lot to take in, though, but I think I can manage, disregarding how i'll only make the SU and won't even get a single post in I'm likely to be very sporadic in posting, if at all. College, why.

Character Name: Chris Waters
Gamertag: NightFox
Pokémon Species: Fennekin
Age: 23
Gender: Male

Personality: Chris is usually very chill and casual, but when pushed, he can be a party animal as long as the peer pressure is there. In the meantime, Chris is a big gamer in general. Anything that's hot on the market and played by a lot of people is something he'll get into as well. Not a whole lot brings him down and he definitely doesn't tend to worry about much.

Appearance: Not too much separates Chris's Fennekin appearance from others, but his fur is a bit more wild and frizzy. As for accessories, he doesn't have any yet, but he's not against throwing something on later if he finds something he likes.

Moveset: Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember, Wish

Team Type: Exploration

Character Name: Natalie Pence
Gamertag: MoneyBunny
Pokémon Species: Buneary
Age: 19
Gender: Female

Personality: Natalie is a snarky, sarcastic girl that likes to taunt, tease others, make others break their filter, and throw around some attitude. She's very politically incorrect, doesn't sweat the small stuff, and has a thing about her that makes things work out even though she's reckless. She's got street smarts, knows how to talk in others, and get others to do what she wants. She got into this game simply because she had some extra money on her credit card and it was the first game she laid eyes on at the store display. She relies on Chris for his gaming knowledge while Chris relies on her diplomacy skills.

Appearance: Natalie is more of a brash-looking Buneary and doesn't look as fluffy-puffy as they usually do. She also wears a black bandana accessory.

Naturally, as Adventure Teams were recommended to those 'who are very familiar with the series mechanics,' I presume this to be in-universe (and not out of universe, where my knowledge is probably more in range for Exploration). Ergo, this guy. ((I assume that there's a 'oh, you're not satisfied? pick what you want' option like in Super here.))

Playing as something less typical seems fun, also.

Character Name: Henry Anderson
Gamertag: Interrobang‽
Pokemon Species: Nincada
Age: 19
Gender: MASCULINE
Personality: A minmaxer by any stretch of the imagination. Henry can systematically break any game given time, and is the kind of guy to purchase cheating devices just to witness the game being broken over his knees (usually after already beating it). He is somewhat impulsive, somewhat hasty, can forget things that he isn't dead-focused on easily, and is easy to irritate when breaking his flow. And he is definitely not a people person, the kind who gives what other people think of him only a passing thought at best. Politeness is more an automatic response than bourn out of a need to socialize, in his case (though not entirely so). And if you annoy him he will complain. Loudly.

He is also a Pokemon genius, a guy who completed the Explorers games multiple times in a row, a ridiculously fast thinker that can easily outmaneuver people, and due to his blase attitude about other's opinions, his ability to rip into stupidity and call the first shot is unlike anything. He is the kind of person that's unwittingly charismatic; his logical ability to tear into arguments and the sheer volume he projects them at, combined with various kind-of lovable quirks and an utter sickness towards social inaction, can and has made him terribly popular despite his flaws.

His relationship with his sister and partner is one that severely irritates him, as she's basically trying to be his babysitter and he wants to break away. Nevertheless, he has no complications (considering he's now a bug) eating you alive should you dare get hostile to her. He won't enjoy the taste but he will certainly enjoy the revenge.

Appearance: The primary physical deviation from a regular Nincada is the light-blue Interrobang, close to the lower-left side of his back (as seen from above). He's also ever-so-slightly Yellow in some attempt to emulate shininess. He also wears a light blue scarf with the Team Logo (an Interrobang surrounded by an Asterism) on its fringe.
Moveset: Scratch, Harden, Absorb, Silver Wind (Egg)
Team Type: Adventure.
Team Role: Leader.
Team Name: Big Bang.
Other: He dislikes comparisons of his team name to the show of the same name. Also, as a warning, anyone who surprises him will probably prompt him to attack. He really hates surprises.

Character Name: Jorline Anderson
Gamertag: Asterism⁂
Pokemon Species: Togetic
Age: 16
Gender: FEMININE
Personality: Jorline is easily exasperated and infuriated by deviance from the norm, like her elder brother, but this is considerably more mild and merely takes the form of scathing sarcasm. She's otherwise something approaching normal, and is something of a cool big sister who keeps everything real. Except she's the little sister. Her entire involvement in this game is keeping her brother in-check.

Jorline has a weird typogrpahical fixation, ergo their usernames of her and her brother. She's into writing in general (which means she gets to use all those fancy typographical symbols) in general and has Journalistic tendencies. She is also an expert on games of chance, unlike her brother; both atypically fortunate and an expert at odds, precision, and context clues. Finally, due to her brother's lack of care for social opinion, she frets double-hard over it, and simultaneously is extraordinarily protective. Considering she's now psionic, she will be unafraid to repetitively assault your mind until you are permanently comatose should your threat level to her brother rise high enough.

Will definitely attempt to prevent cannibalism, though. That's kind of a line crossed.

Appearance: Deviates from the typical Togetic by the Asterism mark upon her forehead, faintly light blue. Also wears the team scarf, same as Henry's. Her wings and arms are slightly longer and her frame somewhat thinner in general.
Moveset: Magical Leaf, Charm, Metronome, Extrasenssory (Egg)
Team Type: Adventure.
Team Role: Partner. Though really they're more of an equal-terms Tag-team, her brother's organizational and strategic knowledge is probably better for overall management.
Team Name: Big Bang.
Other: Tried to make her brother join the Rescue teams instead of the Adventure teams, citing the increased difficulty as reason to try to get acclimated to the actual current game instead of relying upon past experiences. He refused, citing the better treasure to keep them ahead of the game. This was before the issue with logging out became massively apparent to all parties. Henry does not want to talk about this.

...And that's about it. Hurrah, a Nincada/Togetic brother/sister duo. Probably haven't heard of that one before.

Given that we've got one more person that has shown interest and I am on the cusp of final exams, it will probably be after May 5th. I have just been working on this since January and wanted to get it up soon to garner some interest before I rolled into exams.

Character Name: Laura Kaye
Gamertag: stained_glass_threads
Pokemon Species: Cubone
Age: 18
Gender: female
Personality: Laura, while friendly towards others, is somewhat introverted and has trouble beginning conversations if they don't concern something she likes. When she does find something she enjoys, she tends to obsess over it for months or years, learning and memorizing everything about it that she can. Pokemon is one of these things. She is rather knowledgeable about Pokemon and their types, and can guess at their movesets usually.
Laura, as mentioned before, is both introverted and friendly. She enjoys speaking with people, especially about things she likes, but is most comfortable doing so over the internet or one-on-one. She is very wary in crowds, and loud noises tend to startle her a lot.
Laura is not a particularly good competitive battler. She loved PMD games for their story, not their challenge. Most of the time, she tends to try to talk her way out of confrontations, however he battle style tends to involve her bouncing about all over the area, darting in for a few attacks and then getting away again.
Appearance: Laura is a rather odd Cubone. Her eyes are bright blue, alone with a matching blue bandanna arranged in a fashion similar to a cape. Her scales are brown but also ever so slightly golden in hue. Her helm, while no different from a typical cubone's in structure, is painted in varying patterns, mainly red and purple, while her bone weapon seems to have been carved into a shape almost reminiscent of a quarterstaff.
Moveset: Growl, Tail Whip, Double Kick(Egg Move)
Team Type: Adventurer
Team Role: Leader
Team Name: Valiant League
Other: The only actual human on the team, as she chose an NPC partner. She's surprisingly unbothered by not being able to get out. She seems to be swept up by the actual story, revealing her as something of an escapist.

Character Name: Peter
Gamertag: Peter
Pokemon Species: Charmander
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Personality: Peter is more extroverted than Laura. While he does defer to her when choosing missions and exploring dungeons, he tends to drag her out to social events and plot events in the game. Peter spent much of his life growing up in Discovery Village, and so introduced Laura to most of it.
Peter always intended to join an Adventure Team, and a lack of both fear and common sense resulted in him exploring many Mystery Dungeons and needing to be rescued by Rescue Teams while he grew up. He seems to be an orphan, as he has no biological family and has few friends other than Laura.
Appearance: Peter is almost exactly the same as a normal charmander, the only deviations being his eyes are honey-gold colored and the fact he wears a bandanna that matches Laura's around his right upper arm.
Moveset: Scratch, Growl, Dragon Pulse(Egg Move)
Team Type: Adventurer
Team Role: Partner
Team Name: Valiant League
Other: Laura chose to make her partner be an NPC, as she'd always preferred going solo.

I'm in dire need of RPs and I'm weak for premises like this so let's give this a whirl! Team literally no chill at all Sterling Spearhead is ready for action!

tazz why did you pick togetic tho now i gotta pick something different smhhhh

Character Name: Tiffany “Tiff” Imamu.
Gamertag: Wulfenite.
Pokemon Species: Riolu.
Age: 20.
Gender: Female.
Personality: Tiff is comparable to a firecracker - loud, impish, and cheerful. A strongly opinionated gal, she is extremely passionate about her interests and refuses to let others shame her for who she is and what she likes. Having had difficulties in the past, she can get defensive when she feels like someone is insulting her, particularly when they seem to be doubting her know-how. While she has her head in the clouds fairly often, she’s far from stupid, and has extremely quick wits. She is very energetic and loves new challenges and new friends, and her optimism - which often blunders into naivete, obliviousness, and recklessness - seems endless.
Appearance: Tiff ties her crown (the two protrusions behind her ears) behind her head with a short gray scarf. The places where her black markings fade into her blue coat have a subtle pattern similar to a tiger’s stripes.
Moveset: Quick Attack/Foresight/Endure/Detect.
Team Type: Adventure.
Team Role: Leader.
Team Name: Sterling Spearhead.

Character Name: Haruka Kimura.
Gamertag: OrchidCrowns.
Pokemon Species: Rowlet.
Age: 19.
Gender: Female.
Personality: Haruka’s quiet nature is often mistaken for shyness, but this isn’t so - she simply likes to listen and observe and prefers to think before she speaks. This is partially because she has a bit of a temper, a flaw that she often has to consciously work to avoid. Once she gets to talking, it’s easy to see that she’s eager and enthusiastic, even though she doesn’t always wear it on her figurative sleeve. It’s also easy to forget that she has a surprising daring streak; she always looks before she leaps, but when she does leap it’s with near-reckless abandon. She’s a bit of a worrier, though, often fretting over things if they’re not just so. She tends to worry that others see her as weak or rude, and is known to be a bit of a people-pleaser. Always learning, she possesses a broad range of knowledge on many subjects. She’s very protective as well; she tends to be a bit wary of new people, especially if they might be a threat to her friends.
Appearance: Haruka wears a gray scarf similar to Tiff’s, albeit a bit smaller, on her right leg. She keeps her feathers, particularly her “bowtie”, positively immaculate, and she’s fond of adorning herself with nearby flowers.
Moveset: Leafage/Tackle/Growl/Confuse Ray.
Team Type: Adventure.
Team Role: Partner.
Team Name: Sterling Spearhead.
Other: Haruka is Japanese (as in, lives in Japan) and as such usually goes by her family name, Kimura. Haruka is only reserved for very very close friends.

Just a slight update - it slipped my mind entirely but because Haruka is Japanese, she goes by her family name (which is written as her last name here for simplicity's sake) most of the time. Sorry about the slip. ^^'

That's perfectly fine. They'll mostly be going by gamertags anyway, at least at first, so not a huge deal. Thanks for the info though!

The thread should be up shortly, so stay tooned for that.

Question - I don't personally understand Magnagates super well since I never played GTI, but I did some reading up. Do Adventure teams get Entercards, and if so do they get them right away or later on?

Adventure Teams do get Entercards. Personally, I think they probably wouldn't get them right away, most likely after the first mission, but I'll let you guys decide. If you think it can work that they get them right away then go for it.

I was thinking that maybe going to an unexplored location that was """rumored""" to have Entercards in it would be a good starter quest, if that's ok by you. They might be low-level Entercards and you can get better ones and different combinations over time?

So roleplaying in a sense is you create a character and control their actions. It's almost like writing a story except you collaborate with a bunch of other people. It's not all that hard and I'm sure as long as you watch other people you'll pick up on it. PXR has some great guides as well and if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

Nope you're still free to join! Certainly a team of three is acceptable. Teams just have to be at least two members in size and no larger than four. You can make multiple teams as well of course.

Sorry for taking so long to get the forms in! Presenting team firestorm!

Character Name: Richard (or rick/ricky)
Gamertag: MajorKorth
Pokemon Species: Ryhorn
Age: 18
Gender: male
Personality: Richard is an idealistic leader with a "get things done" attitude. He puts a lot of pride on his honor and always pushes to treat other properly and fairly. When provoked he can get violent, but tries to avoid as much as possible. Richard used to be a very athletic person and is often annoyed by rhyhorn's limited movement and speed.

While outwardly Richard is strong and sereious, he's actually somewhat conservative and keeps his personal feelings to himself most of the time. His teammates can usually see past through his words but rarely directly opens up and relies more on his teammates to understand him.

Appearance: A normal rhyhorn, but had a red armband on his front left leg with their team logo on it. (see other for logo details)
Moveset: horn attack, tail whip, fury attack, skull bash (egg move)
Team Type: Rescue
Team Role: leader
Team Name: Firestorm
Other: The team logo is a flaming meteor imposed over a lightning bolt from a thunder cloud. The meteor's flame trail and the lightning bolt cross in an X shape.

Character Name: Alexander (or lee)
Gamertag: CrimsonAlucard101
Pokemon Species: magby
Age: 18
Gender: male
Personality: Lee is an energetic and somewhat inappropriate. He's usually out to have a good time and has a love for competition. Jokes, often at other people's expense, are common, and lee isn't usually one to follow rules. However despite his eccentric ways he's pretty trustworthy, even if his methods aren't always the best. He's the sort of person who'd prefer to charge an enemy straight on over other methods.
Appearance: a normal elekid, but hopes to get a headband with the team logo on it rather than the usual armband
Moveset: leer, smog, ember, karate chop (egg move)
Team Type: rescue
Team Role: partner
Team Name: firestorm
Other: Alex will sometimes go out out to do really easy missions on his own or with josh, just so he has something to do.

Character Name: Joshua (or josh)
Gamertag: TheKunz
Pokemon Species: Elekid
Age: 18
Gender: male
Personality: More reserved than his other too partners, josh deals with his insecurities through study and can almost always be found with a book in hand. He's very bookish and has an odd sense of humor, but above all he's kind. He hates fighting, avoiding it whenever possible, and is nice to everyone. He'll push his own complaints down to put others first, though occasionally his feelings will burst out if he feels too stressed. He prizes fairness a lot and it will always bother him when he feels someone is being bullied or treated unfairly. Though he may not always have the courage to do something about it, something he greatly dislikes about himself.
Appearance: A normal elekid, except he wears his team logo on a sash across his chest and wears glasses. He doesn't actually need glasses, but as a human he did and he doesn't feel right without them.
Moveset: leer, quick attack, thundershock, rolling kick (egg move)
Team Type: rescue
Team Role: partner (also item-carrier)
Team Name: firestorm
Other: Their team motto is "strong as an adventurer, brave as an explorer, kind as a rescuer."

Hmm-hm. No reason not to hop back into things here now, right?

I have twooo questions: First, may I join as a character without a team initially? I feel this would prioritize character interaction for me to a higher degree, forcing a character to search for openings while fighting to survive on her own in the meantime (and if circumstances don't work in her favor, there are always temporary NPC teams she could ally herself with). There's also more of an opportunity for me to develop her without also having to worry about developing a secondary or even tertiary supporting character on the wayside. You're basically bound to get something more thorough from me if I just enter a single sign-up.

Also, this is mostly for confirmation's sake, but based on Morzone referencing Sword Art Online in the most recent IC post and the whole "PMD being an active phenomenon" thing, this takes place in our world and not an alternative one, correct?

I mean technically yes, but it'd obviously be in the future and such so take that as you will.

"After a thorough analysis of your answers, we have determined you to be the OUTGOING type.

"To find promise in others is not necessarily to find promise in oneself; you are the embodiment of this sentiment. Have you ever obsessively dedicated yourself to someone you longed to be? Do you desperately strive to trust acquaintances because of a deep-seated mistrust in yourself? These are all rhetorical questions as questioning has concluded.

"You are a sensitive, sympathetic, and brave person who unconditionally takes the words of others to heart; these traits collectively stem from altruism—insecurity. You have been found to possess a selflessness that is worryingly suicidal for your age, though the intention of this personality test is not to psycho-analyze or evaluate. Err, I suppose it could be called a "story" but it's more so intended to offer further insight into Dia's personality, as well as somewhat justify her situation, prior to the actual in-character events. Nevertheless, I appreciate the acceptance.
