Welcome to the thread for my webcomic pmdeol (worst abreviation ever but we'll roll with it)

It's set after a war between humans and pokémon, where only pokémon survived. Or so they thought, as our hero wakes up inside a room and after fainting, as a pokémon somewhere in a forest. It's definitly inspired by the pmd games, but it's not a nuzlocke run of one, nor a retelling. I'm not going to reupload every single panel here, that'd just be too grand a task. Something important to know perhaps, I don't use the traditional page of many comics, I work with panels and than upload these. Though recent updates have been more pagelike in proportion, switched over to a tablet that's probs the reason why. I will see, if I can't upload here as well starting from the next update.

It updates every sunday or monday (depending on my best time management skills) weekly.

Anyways hope the people that'll give it a try will enjoy it and thanks for visiting the thread.

I got up to the last chapter! I really liked it so far. I thought the prologue was especially well done, it definitely got my attention and I liked the first person view a lot! It's cool too see how your art improved over time as well. :)

I really liked the world you built and am curious about its history. You've got some really great ideas!

I'm reading through this right now, arnisd! I like it a lot so far. It's interesting. :3 I love the way you drew the town! Deep in the earth like that, it's so cool. You have an interesting style, as well! Pokemon Trainer Sarah Glad you like it, can't really talk that much about the history, lots of things still need to be revealed in due time. Also expect more world building, probably not all through our heros talking to eachother in downtime during their many walks.

My advice would be if you upload them to deviantart, depending on the computer when you right click on the panel, you may have an option to "Copy Image Location". It'll copy a direct URL link which you can use to post here using image brackets ([*img]URL HERE[/*img] but without the stars). You could also upload it to imgur if the need arises.

I've been following your comic for a couple months on Smackjeeves, glad to see you found your way here! ^^ I personally find your comic to be pretty interesting, I'm a big fan of Mew but it's hard to write one without making it seem overpowered, I think you're doing a really good job with Grey so far in not making them a game-breaker.

Here's the first update on this forum, anyone else wanting to be on a taglist for this? Got the idea proposed by Suicune's Fire, so if you'd want to get on it just ask.
LKWayvern Glad you're enjoying it. It helps that I don't percieve him as an overpowered character, he'll grow stronger, but I never intended for him to be this uber powerfull pokémon right at the start of the story. That's where Ral comes in as well, by making him look powerful (one shotting seedot with ease) you kind of make Grey look weaker.

Yep. She was hard to draw in a way, since machamp is really a purely masculine design based pokémon. So even with some slimmer arms, really exaggerated waist and less broad jawline, she still looks quite masculine.

End of the chapter, with a small cliffhanger, cause there always needs to be one of those at every chapter end to have a story, or series, or movie... trilogies and never happening sequels.
Also there's probs a panel missing inbetween machamp lowering her posture and sitting in the couch.

Uh-oh, how are they gonna get out of this one!

OKAY. So 1. I'm so sorry for dropping off the radar for months. I've just caught up and I'm loving it! Wanted to point out a few things:

Firstly, I love the new style with coloured outlines! It looks smooth and really good. You're also improving heaps at drawing! O: It's so awesome to see how far you've come. I loved the way you drew Hako-o (P.S. He was adorable, dropping the scarf XD). I also love that Ral's mum is a machamp! XD So funny! Grey's reaction was hilarious too. So interesting that Ral is adopted as well. I did not see that coming, though it does make sense as to why he's partial to physical moves. He'll make a great gallade, should he finally choose to evolve! xD Also I didn't realise that Gengar was his dad...I must have forgotten that detail! Also interesting that Gengar used to have a human.

Ral and Grey are soooo tiny. I keep seeing them compared to other pokemon or even items like the pidgeot's carry bag, and omg they're miniature. XD So cute and smol. Also lol a number of things that have been said have made me laugh, like when they were being carried by the pidgeot and Ral's like "Um be careful. We're not mail." XD

Anyway, wow, there are so many snapped pokemon here. O: I didn't realise it was a dungeon either. I loved when Grey was like "Every hallway leads to a broom closet!" XD But yeah, that lucario (who was really well drawn btw!) was super intriguing. I wonder what's going to happen Grey and Ral now that they're surrounded. o.o Maybe one of them will use teleport? Who knows. Anyway, I'm looking forward to finding out! I'm glad to be all caught up again. Keep up the awesome work. :D

And thank you, I got the idea from comics like tales of elysium where they also do it to some extent and it gives the line art a certain look and feel.
Bet nobody really saw the adopted thing coming, since I didn't really set it up that much. Would have to reread the earlier chapters to be sure, but some form of a hint got dropped, though it definitly wasn't even a big hint, but more a subtle nudge.
And in the current script he doesn't become a gallade open at your own discretion as it includes the answer to ralts planned evolution (a bit)
Eh you can never expect someone to remember everything about a comic, I've read a bunch and probs forgot tons of side details unrelated to the current major plot. And our don purple used to be quite the star before **** went down.

Ral and Grey are like 0.4 meters in height, variations may occur since I'm in no way always making measurements, so in other words they're tiny for a world where most buildings have floors that reach 2 meters high and a lot of pokémon are bigger than them. I like reminding people of the scale in that way.

Again only a little bit of setup before it was explicitly stated to be a dungeon, so no real blame can be had. Buuuuut it's not a lucario gash darnit! xD You're the second one that calls her a lucario, while I drew a riolu T-T, she'd have to be the worlds tiniest lucario.
I'd like to say they've had worse, but that's not the case. And I know the outcome! Already got it written down even so it's not going to change on a whim... that much
Fun fact we're a few months away from a year worth of updating the comic on smackjeeves without a hiatus... though not on these forums yet ^^'

Yeah, I like little surprises like that. :D Your comic has a lot of layers which others can sometimes lack. You seem to have really fleshed out your characters which is awesome. ^-^ And oooh, interesting about the spoiler! O:

I like that you draw them so tiny because I think a lot of comics forget about height differences. But yeah it is cool to see the scale since most of the time we'd imagine it in game.

OH NO I'M SORRY!!! I went back and had a look and now I see that she's a riolu! xD The tail, the round silver plates on the hands instead of spikes...duh! I think it was the panel with the open maw with teeth was what threw me off since riolu are normally drawn with simple round faces. I love the way you drew her though. *v* And yes, true, she is standing on a chair so that'd make her tiny if she was a lucario. xD In the next panel when she's walking though, she looks tallish. But hey, at least it's still in the same evolution chain! xD

Haha awesome. Question, how much of the comic do you have planned? O: I often wonder how far people plan ahead. Some people are pretty fine with having a loose outline and rolling with it, but I get the feeling you have a lot of solid plans. O:

Yes, they seem like it anyway! xD Yeah that's completely true. I think exposition can be important, but yeah, you've done it pretty well so far. It's hard to squeeze it in without feeling like you're shoving it down people's throats. I know the feels, haha.

That sounds like a great way to plan. :) Yeah for sure. I mean, endings you can flesh out along the way without too much issue usually. Sometimes it takes a different route to how you expect, too! Yea Grey isn't a pro at attack moves, it might take him a long time before gets the hang of things. I mean he hasn't mastered flying/ levitating yet either. Buuut things will work out, since they're the heros afterall

They're indeed a bit big, they're supposedly 3.15 inches in diameter (8 cm in my books). So that'd make them a fourth of Ralts size, here it's more like a third to 2.5... But Ral and Grey are still small as well in their own rights. They're there cause someone stored them there ofcourse!

Well they always have to pop out of somewhere, it's quite hard not to come across Grey an Ral with all the noise make and destruction they leave behind. They'll get out of it, cause it's set up that they only need to take 1 attack, from her, not the Luxio... The pokeballs would have worked if they hadn't vanished.
She's fun to draw, but I now see I forgot adding the arm guards, bones, plates? On her for that last page ^^'.
Also also that shiny was a bit rough to figure some decent colors for, since the ones used on sprites and all are just a bit to bright and all for me

It takes quite a lot of layers to get to that result, sadly feel like it could still be done better, but don't have the know how yet. It's neat you like the pacing, I sometimes feel it might be a bit slow, or too fast, kind of odd really.
And also glad you like that pick, got a couple of things planned I feel are only possible cause he's a mew, or if he'd been a ditto, but eh.

Hmm good good, also wanted to have him come over as a someone these mon trust and respect, since you know not everyone can just show up and change the flow of events like this.... though on hindsight a lot of things could do that xD, but that's beside the point! It's important, cause he's got a role to play in a future chapter still!

I have to say, I don't quite know what's going on in the story, but I have been enjoying flipping through this and admiring the artwork. You have a great art style and I love the job you do with the shading and highlights. Plus the backgrounds are definitely great stuff also.

Also, I love the Emolga with the long spiky ears and oversized lab coat you had back on page 17. XD Don't think for a minute I didn't see that dude! I saw that and I was immediately like "is that.. YES! IT IS!" Cool stuff!

Perhaps, there's a lot of reasons really. One being that not all of these mon having a good sense of community yet, coming from the wild where it's a dog eat dog world, it's hard adapting to a new life style and caring for mon that aren't your family but neighbors to fellow townsmon to strangers.... That and the fact that towns are only moderately safer than the wild since hey any mon can snap and cause mayhem.
Neo Emolga glad you like the art, it's always nice just being able to browse through a story and just look at the pictures :p
Sadly I don't have much plans for our lil Emolga friend as of right now, he might pop up in the background sometimes, but other than an idea for near the end of the story, he's not going to be playing any big parts sadly >.>

I saw at one point while they were in the Electric Plant just how vast your art style changed including on panel sizing.

I do wonder how Ral feels truly about evolving. Would breaking the Everstone even work? There's gotta be something much bigger to Grey's power too. What with entering another's mind to heal them? To follow, there's gotta be reason for it I imagine. Including those that are worried it'll get in their way once they find out about it. Such as the one causing such meddlesome dark power in the first place.

Well Let's just say there's more to it, but that's spoilers and let's also just say breaking a stone like that wouldn't do away with the effects, but considering how long he's been holding off onto evolving and growing up literally, a weakened effect would be enough. Also it'd have an amazing mental effect breaking something important to him like that, enough to make certain mental barriers and fortitude he's build up crumble under the right situations

He isn't the only one that does it, so far Gengar and Arthur have shown the same ability... does that mean Grey is actually dead 0.0? But the healing part came from showing compassion and care up front to someone that needed it, there might be more to it, but for now that's as good an explanation as you'll get and it's spoiler free for once! It's not like he's going to accidentally come across certain important characters that need some mental healing and a pep talk, who would ever come to such a conclusion :p

Back when you first started posting it here I did follow it. Same when you did post you had the other parts on Smackjeeves. I bookmarked where I left off there, took a break, started back with what was on here, finished up what was here, and blasting through what's on Smackjeeves. Yeah I'm...kinda weird how I read things sometimes xD. Most of the time I'm against such spoilers, but this time it's just how I did it....aha.

I'd think it would take time to wear off still. Not like it would immediately cause Ral to evolve. If not careful since there's been so much "exp" put into this stage. If not careful, I'd imagine unless Ral is holding another Everstone after evolving into Kirlia or immediately has a Dawn Stone in hand. The Gardevoir stage would come almost immediately after evolving. It's kinda a small gap in between the levels for Kirlia and Gardevoir anyway. That's just my assumption though.

Hmm, I wouldn't think so, but maybe so? Maybe something more like a spirit brought back to life from the past or something? I thought I remembered others or something like it being mentioned. At the time writing the message I had finished binge reading and couldn't remember everything I read before.

Oh and I'm sure the dark powers haven't even begun. Gotta start out small, right? Where there is light, there will always be light. Where there is light, there will always be darkness. Each have their counterpart that will equally fight against the other. Like a tug of war between the two.
