Moving on to Round 3? (Poll)

So, I'm sure by now word has gotten around that I'm going to drop Round 2 due to a lot of unforeseen circumstances. Not to worry, it will get an ending. But yeah, it got to be too much to handle and keep up with.

But, I'm curious to know if people would like a Round 3 now, a little later as an October/Halloween event again, or if they would rather just drop out entirely. Don't be shy to answer, I totally understand all these viewpoints.

Round 3, as I've told other people, will be a lot more like Round 1 in size, but will use Round 2's mechanics, such as the perks/skills, day/night cycle, health/sanity, and those kinds of things. A few of those things will also be modified a bit based on the things we saw in Round 2.

So let me know how you guys feel. Personally, I'm more than ready to start cracking on Round 3 once PXFIRE is done.

I think the problem with Round 2 was it got too complicated for its own good, and I was often frustrated by how much we had to do, and how little progress we had to show for it--so Round 3 needs to be pared down just a little bit.

Oh lordy, this, this, this 1000% and a million times over.

From a development and management perspective, it was also hell. You should see all the reference things and junk Xanthe and I have all over the place. It was just painful. Don't get me wrong, I love how this game works, it's a good and original game system, and it's a ton of fun to work with, but Round 2 was way too much. Love birthday cake!? Cool, but this was like getting all the birthday cakes you'll ever get in life all at once on the same day. Happy eating! Not.

We definitely overdid it. I also think it broke poor Xanthe. She got so burnt out and just didn't want to keep going with it. I don't blame her, it was exhausting after a while and I'm sure you guys were feeling so lost considering there were like a zillion places to search and Pokémon to interview, and there were many (way too many) occasions where you had to keep pecking at the same place just to get ONE darn door open so you could get ONE piece of a sometimes three or four piece key to get past ANOTHER door! Now take that and times it by like thirty. Not to mention it took us a ludicrous amount of time to set up and it just kept everyone waiting and waiting just to get started. Honestly, even though a lot of work went into it, just putting it to rest is best. I think you guys would appreciate just getting to see what you would have encountered for each Stalker. And of course, finally getting to see which ones were the Stalkers after all.

So yep, I will be writing the conclusion to Round 2 very soon and will begin stuff for Round 3 right after that. I definitely know what went wrong and I learned a good lesson out of this. But I also learned what works really well and what I enjoyed working with the most.

I had just personally worried myself if we started a new one so soon that it would run it all down and not be as exciting to see return if it was run so often. I love Stalkers and love every part of it even though the 2nd one was really complex. I can't wait for the 3rd one!
