Stalkers RPG General Chat Thread (The Secret Clubhouse) [SEASON 3]

[Neo Emolga]

Hidden in the outskirts of Southwarren, this small and overlooked building that used to be a storage house is now the home base for Emissary operations. The civilians of the city aren't aware this once quiet and vacant building is being inhabited for now and it seems it's safe from the dark presences that have penetrated the city itself. There is enough food, shelter, and sleeping areas for everyone.

Just a few notes:

If you're new to Stalkers RPG, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE PLAYED IN SEASONS 1 AND 2 TO TAKE PART IN THIS! I love seeing new people. I really do.
You're a Pokémon now, so you need to think of yourself as one while talking in this thread!
You don't have to use this thread for working out the puzzles and stuff, but you can if you want to. If you post a completed puzzle attempt, mention me and I'll look it over to see if you are correct.
You are totally free to make as many separate discussion threads in this subforum as you need for working that kind of stuff out. In fact, I highly recommend making threads based on what your thoughts are, the things you find, possible note-taking, and what decisions to make next. Keeping things organized and keeping in close communication with your teammates will definitely help with this game.

https://i.imgur.com/AwHwFta.pngWell, there's (45) Temple to the Light (Abandoned), which is pretty obviously a trap, but seems rather important, and there's #1 Rancha the Breloom, and #31 Lexin the Flygon, who seem like they could be helpful.
I think I might Investigate Rancha to start, since I don't think we ever used it last season, and I kinda wanna see it in action. Besides, for two cycles, I'm assuming it's gotta be pretty useful.
Not positive yet, though.

So we've been warned not to trust Yandil the breloom and Someone named Edder. There isn't anyone on the list named Edder, though it might be a nickname for Jeddi the bewear. Not surprising that suspicions are flying around, but I wonder why those in particular. Perhaps we should talk to them/ask about them.

Also, I noticed the blood-words Laura (LK) found in the temple are both upside-down and backward. I could make out the two large words but not the smaller ones. Probably isn't anything super important, but might be nice to know properly in case it connects to a stalker's personal train of thought.

I wouldn't assume it too quickly. they were a little too easy to get. I would've expected stalker samples to be in some locked thingamajig somewhere. Definitely a possibility though.

After hacking your way through the computer terminal and overriding the administrator access, you disengage the lock and you're able to open the door...

When the metallic door opens, you find something you weren't quite expecting. Instead of money, jewelry, or other kinds of valuables, you find just a lone figurine of an Igglybuff, sweet and docile-looking with a childish innocence and almost life-like stature as it stands upon a wooden mount. You're not sure why someone would go through this trouble to lock something like this up, but you have a feeling there's more to this than what meets the eye. You decide to take it with you.

There's definitely a direct connection though. I found a blue scale sample in the exact same location as that blood-puppets stalker message. But we've found a lot of samples, would there really be that any stalkers?

So our mission disclosure went up this round. Neo said it's not related to the death of Shala so therefore I think that means we must have spoken to a Stalker this round who was then alerted to what we're doing.

It's also possible we were just spotted while doing something, but it seems more likely that we directly interacted with a Stalker. Vicker was already a suspect but I am kind of suspicious of Kanja. She didn't give us anything useful even though she is police. The fact that she said this:

I'm sure some of the warning messages are true. It's possible that some aren't... but I think we still need to keep interviewing to figure things out.

ALSO I forgot the mission disclosure thing was for the WHOLE round day and night. So that means we also need to add these guys to our list:

Madder, as a Mimikyu, is both Ghost and Fairy, so against Tashy's Normal typing, this is what happens:



Ghost to Normal = Weak (0x and ½), so +Modesty.
Fairy to Normal = 1x, no change.
Madder's Single Evolution stage isn't the same as Furret being Stage 2 of a two-stage evolution (Sentret/Furret), but it's not a far offshoot, so there isn't any +1 or -1 modifier there. The only time there would be a modifier in Madder's case is if he interviews a fellow single-stage Pokemon that doesn't evolve (Farfetch'd, Zangoose, and of course, Emolga!). In that case, it would be a +1 toward a more Positive interview.

So, when I was talking with Rolia, something she said about yandil kind of made me pause. Kind of summed up in three comments/notions:

Rolia doesn't really have any friends, so that in general she is considered "alone"
Yandil seems to hate her/others (or at least thats the vibe she gets from his interactions with people) merely for existing
She thinks Yandil Deserves to be alone

Possibly, that hate is directly related to her not having any friends. Could relate to the fact that Yandil has no friends.

I found this series of notions kind of odd. We haven't been able to get an extensive description of the murders and their themes like we were able to get from previous police chiefs. (I don't think we have at any rate) so keep an eye out for Stalker ramblings relating to loneliness, betraying/losing friends, or jealousy of other's relations.

on a side note, I'm not entirely convinced Yandil is actually a stalker. Definitely possible, Neo could easily be tricking us with a red herring, (I mean, all the other times the public thought someone was a stalker they were wrong) But what really makes me suspicious is that the confirmed stalker sample black fur could easily belong to Jeddi the bewear, whom Yandil has a very bad relationship with. It would seem very convenient for Jeddi, as a stalker who knows Yandil personally, to us Yandil's personality against him mto make him seem liek a culprit.

I'm pretty certain about Kanja. We found her mostly due to luck (happened to be protecting her victim) so there's no reason she should be a red herring or anything. She acted suspicious when we interviewed her the first time, saying we should tell her all our plans, and that night we got tagged for mission disclosure. She's the only green medium Pokemon (a description of this particular stalker) with injuries that have been hastily fixed up (it was emphasised that they would be poorly treated).

Yandil I'm still not sure about just cos he seems so obvious and we haven't found anything at his work or home yet, but rather a lot of notes ABOUT him which kinda makes it seem there's a Stalker out there who hates him. He is mortal enemies with Jeddi the Bewear and I feel like that's somehow relevant and one or the other is a stalker. The confirmed Stalker sample Black Fur could belong to Jeddi, while the non-confirmed Beige Fur could belong to Yandil.

Those are our main leads right now I think. I still have to over the last couple days and update my to do list though.

OK, so, more Enthraller tip-offs tonight. This time there's only three possible suspects: Kanja, Jenny and Frannie. Kanja matches up with the appearance and cuts, is unhelpful, and has green scales, and pretty much ticks all the boxes for evidence. If Frannie lied, she'd oust herself as a Stalker pretty quickly-we could just casually confirm it at the tavern if we really want to confirm any bar brawls with combusken, but that's unlikely, methinks. This doesn't quite mean there just can't be two or even three stalkers in that list, but the odds of that are improbable.

I think this all but confirms Kanja is our stalker, methinks.

Agreeing on Kanja, I think we need to get rid of her. Even MORE evidence is she said she thought Edder was a stalker but then he ended up getting killed and obviously isn't one, so I'd say she was trying to throw us off. I support exorcising her.

Unless I'm looking at it wrong, the mission disclosure thing is for the whole day/night cycle so includes anyone we spoke to during the day as well (it only gets updated at night). I made that mistake last time. xD So it possibly refers to someone other than Kanja as it's not like we gave her any new info. But it's not really clear how mission disclosure works exactly so it could just be her again.

If anyone is against exorcising Kanja asap, speak up now!

Yeah... It would be interesting to know if Yandil was ALWAYS like this or just since the stalkers arrived. Jeddi seemed to imply he was but it's not really clear. Plus I didn't find anything weird at his home or work. Still, Sam's investigation said Yandil was a potential Stalker so we should still keep an eye on him.

I didn't get a stalker vibe from Jeddi either but who knows. Maybe she is just super annoying. xD

Will be interesting to see if our mission disclosure goes up or not.

Edit: Ooh beige fur was just confirmed as a sample... That one made me think of Yandil right away but I'll see who else it could possibly be.

OK, so, for future reference I'm going to compile the Stalker samples with what we know to determine any stalker-y folk.

Purple Shred: The most obvious. Without any consideration for any other evidence, the four Pokemon it could most likely be are:
10: Gorlin the Swalot
20: Garen the Malamar
29: Franny the Mismagius
30: Rola the Lurantis (listed as purple in dex)
38: Buldaren the Exploud
40: Jaxie the Gothorita (listed as purple in dex)
47: Misa the Mienshao (listed as purple in dex)

Of these, Franny is almost certainly out due to her aid to us previously nailing RttnCrps. Almost certainly. Almost. Also, the way Purple Shred is referred to, as opposed to fur, makes me doubt Misa as well.

I think Pokemon Trainer Sarah covered the Black fur already, (I would like to make one adjustment to that list: Pignite have fur on their tails so you could add 9: Ferris the Pignite to the list), so onto the Beige fur, which is surprisingly short (if I didn't miss anything).

I do not need to say Tashy is innocent 999,999 times out of 1 million so let's end it there. I listed her for completion reasons.

Yeah I don't really know... Unless Neo confirms he only went by official Pokedex colours (I think this is very unlikely actually... I'm sure it was based more on common sense than the Pokedex) then I wouldn't be ruling out Leafeon or Breloom. And I think I said this last time we had samples but we don't really know that Breloom isn't furry... I mean sure it has a mushroom on its head but it's also kind of a kangaroo xD And what, Leafeon isn't furry?!?! The Eeveelutions are foxes or something? I'm pretty sure they all have fur haha.

I just feel like we should err on the side of caution and include any Pokemon that is possible even if unlikely, otherwise we risk ruling stuff out prematurely. Doesn't mean we can't focus on those who are more likely though!

Decided to look at previous Stalkers to see what the samples were like:

- The first vial has a few strands of purple fur. - Aromatisse
- The second vial has a blue scale. - Vaporeon
- The third vial has a few brown hairs. -Furret
- The fourth vial has an orange scale. - Dragonite
- The fifth vial has a trace of a green leaf. - Oddish
- The sixth vial has a few white hairs. - Pachirisu

Oddish's official colour is blue, Aromatisse's is pink, Dragonite's is brown... so I don't think the official Pokedex colours matter.

In terms of the Purple shred, my two main suspects are the mismagius and the Mienshao. The mismagius has been pretty helpful but I'm not one to rule anything out. I'm more suspicious of Mira, as the ribbon-things that Mienshao's have on their arms end in a purple bit. I'm not really suspicious of other purple pokemon because it says shread rather than skin or hide or fur.

Well what we've done so far is just randomly searched/interviewed places until we find things that fit together. As Sam just pointed out, we have the Nidoking and Nioqueen heads which fit in the {Head Display: Missing Head of the King, Missing Head of the Queen} at (38). So someone could deliver them there (though these particular ones have traps on them at the moment so that person would get really hurt unless they are disarmed by a person with Security first xD)

So yeah sometimes you find an item that's useful or a lock or something that requires an item or perk. Other times you might find information or a clue about where to search next.

The other option is interviewing which can result in a person giving us a hint about another person who might be suspicious or a place they saw something weird. Then you get new ideas on where to search/who to interview!

Most of the time all of us just do our own thing and search/interview randomly. You can follow up on leads/deliver items that other people have found, no one is really possessive of stuff. But if there is something particular you know you want to do next turn you can post here so everyone else knows not to do it.

So yeah, most of the time it's just doing your own thing randomly, but if something important happens we can come together and get organised to knock out a task quickly. For example, just recently we foiled a stalker attack by chance which gave us the info that the Stalker was a medium-sized green Pokemon with visible injuries. The next day we went and interviewed ALL the Pokemon matching this description and were able to identify Kanja the Kecleon as a stalker! That was really lucky though xD Usually you gotta find a lot of clues and unlock a lot of different evidence before you can identify a stalker...

Because there can be so many different leads to follow up on, I usually try and keep a list of stuff to do updated in case anyone wants suggestions.

Just to confirm, I didn't use official Pokédex colors, as many Pokémon have multiple colors on them for the features that they have. For example, you could get white, dark gray, and yellow fur from an Emolga.

Of course, if you use Tashy's Sin Purge Ritual, it won't matter if you have all the supplies blessed and you give her the right Stalker names. ;)

Arrow is fine. You'll only get rolled for traps on items when either you A, first collect the item or B, attempt to use it while the trap on it is still active. If you use the Security perk to disarm a trap on an item, you're safe because it's playing out with the Emissary carefully approaching the item, gathering what they need dismantle all the nasty effects, and taking special care not to fall victim to the effects. Kind of wouldn't be fair if you burned a whole turn to disarm an especially nasty trap just to get busted by it anyway.

Although... if people ever feel the game is too easy...

I take it you'd like to light the Candle of the Departed? That was actually an item that was added to the inventory and that's what you light with the icicle. You don't actually travel anywhere to do this.

Yeah, it's the first time I've implemented using items on items, so I can understand it might be a little confusing. But whenever that colon (:) appears on something, it means something else can be used on it. So I'll just take it as that's what you'd like to do, and I apologize in advance if it's not, but you're still making progress by doing this part of the job!

Of our three Exorcists, not me, unless we want to risk a capture by the Stalkers on top of the 20% info lead they have. Julia and Madder are at full sanity and can do so tonight; nothing hasty has to happen.

I should also point out that Vendy the Weavile is almost certainly the Black-furred stalker, which doesn't quite clear the names of (say) Jeddi or other black-furred Pokemon but puts leads on them as having no 'DNA' evidence.

Yes, but the Martacus of last session (gosh I struggle to remember her name as well) had that 'damning' evidence put in a place where we were almost certainly going to search. This, on the other hand, was hidden through a series of out-of-the-way areas that the Stalker clearly did not want us to reach with the number of traps behind it. The Stalker had something serious to hide here and guarded it very well, with multiple cursed items to prevent easy access to the area to begin with, a nasty spike trap to kill anyone who went in, and one of the most powerful Sanity traps I've seen lurking just beyond, leaving whoever went in there effortless pickings for the Stalker.

In short, the heavy presence of traps pretty much confirms it.

EDIT: And we have the list of Stalkers! Including a name we haven't seen before. I'm positive that Neo only listed 553580 as unknown because we haven't actually done anything. It'd be ridiculous to not have what we found be the Stalker hideout.

Also, figured out the weird issue with the pattern of the 'Broken' stalkers regarding 553580. Short: The full name is BROKEN SIX, with the six coming from the number of digit's in 553580's name. Alternatively, the name choice was deliberate to throw us off the trail.

Julia has insisted upon Exorcising Vendy, so don't worry about that.

A few things need to get done, but we do not have the resources to get at them. However, I do know one: Have someone (with Security?) Re-shroud the Un-Shrouded Mimikyu Statue (the Odd-looking one at #43) with the Shroud of Misery we found. We also need a Science peep to decode a few places: The Mysterious Room and the Logbook we just found.

Other than that... Uh, I suggest poking around and hoping that we're not on the trail to RttnCrps'es hideout with that Rusty Key, and in general find more of the stuff we need to puzzlesolve.
