In July on 1952, thousands of families across the USA looked to their skies from their yards, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Foraminis Meteor Shower that was falling to earth. The event itself lasted a night, however the world had no idea how long the effects of the storm would last.

Unbeknownst to the world, when the meteoroids vaporized upon entry, the dust dispersed over Earth. Whilst this dust itself had no effect on humans, it affected the photosynthetic processes of Earth’s plant-life, creating a colorless, odorless gas, that created genetic abnormalities in young children.

This was first revealed 1965, when the children born in the year after the meteor shower turned thirteen, and began displaying abnormalities. A mixture of physical defects such as hardened skin, or the growth of extra limbs, whilst others displayed superhuman abilities, such as enhanced strength, night vision or telekinesis.

Within the first week of this phenomenon, the first casualties occurred, caused by a teenager who discovered they had the ability to chill the air around them, and accidentally froze their classmates.

Governments around the world focused their resources on discovering the cause of the phenomenon, six months later, determining it was most likely caused by the meteor shower thirteen years earlier and that the effect on Earth was permanent. Efforts were then focused on creating a vaccine, which came to fruition two years later in 1967.

The abnormalities manifested during adolescence, and as long as the vaccine was administered before then, the effects of the Foraminis Meteor Shower could be negated, and people could live normal lives, with a 99.99% success rate, only being ineffective on individuals with a specific gene. There were eight million children who had manifested abnormalities that could not receive the vaccine in time, five million of which had shown superhuman abilities, whilst the other three million showed physical abnormalities.

The vaccine soon became compulsory at age two, sparking protest by anti-vaccination groups, however governments didn’t budge. In addition to this, use of superhuman abilities became outlawed, with governments pushing for people to report anything suspicious, due to the slight chance of manifestation. The topic of superhuman abilities was a taboo subject, those possessing abilities earning the title of Foram.

Over the next fifty years, governments continued to regulate and monitor Foram. The number of individuals reduced over time, as affected individuals died off, with one in ten thousand born having the gene making them immune to the vaccine.

In December 2014, an individual from New York City, known only as his online handle Impact, came to internet fame. Impact began acting as a vigilante, wearing a mask and using his power of telekinesis to stop petty crime, as well as speaking openly about his abilities in online forums.

Impact broke society’s rules for Foram, using his abilities, and being open about them online. Following in his lead, dozen’s of Foram began disguising themselves, and taking to the streets, fighting for what they believed was right, and to show the rest of the world they meant no harm to them.

However others addressed their dislike towards societies attitude towards Foram with extremist acts. A group soon emerged calling themselves Demon’s Run, revealing themselves to the world by destroying a vehicle transporting the Foraminis Vaccine.

Since the first Demon’s Run attacks, governments have been increasing their efforts to identify Foram, stopping vigilantes and putting an end to Demon’s Run. However on Christmas Eve of 2017, a threat was issued. By the New Year, Demon’s Run would rule Manhattan.

On Christmas Day, Impact, as well as other well known vigilante’s posted statements online about Demon’s Run threat, whilst the police insisted that they’re doing all they can to put an end to Demon’s Run, and urging the public to report any Foram activity, be it Demon’s Run, vigilante, or anything in between.

Name: Thomas (Tommy) Smythe (Impact)

Gender: Male

Age: 25

Power (If any): Telekinesis

Appearance: Tommy stands at 5 ft 11, with a slim build and pale complexion. His messy jet black hair is medium length, however tends to keep out of his face. He has sharp blue eyes, and usually has black stubble.

His usual attire consists of a pair of jeans, a band tshirt, and a long sleeved, button up, flannel shirt over the top. When the weather cools down, the flannel shirt might be replaced with a hooded jacket.

When wearing the metaphoric cape of Impact, he wears a pair of kevlar jeans, and motocross armour over a black hoodie. A black cloth bandana covers the lower half of his face.

History:
Tommy was born and grew up on the south end of Manhattan. His childhood was spent with a love of comic books and superheroes. Ever since he was young, his free time was spent reading comic books and dreaming of becoming a superhero himself.

When he was thirteen, his dream came true, to a degree. In the middle of winter, he walked to a store on the north end, attempting to find a Christmas gift for his mother.

On his way back, he took a shortcut through Central Park, however found himself face to face with a thug demanding his wallet and phone.

Tommy froze and panicked when the thug pulled a knife. He couldn’t move, and when the mugger thought he wasn’t complying, he took a step towards him.

It took Tommy days to process what happened next. He closed his eyes, expecting this to be the end, before seeing a flash of light, and hearing a loud boom.

When he opened them, the thug was unconscious against a nearby tree, and the snow on the ground around him was now pushed away in a perfect circle.

Tommy ran home, in shock about what had just happened, and still unsure. When he got home, he went to sleep, trying to pretend it didn’t happen.

The next morning, he realized he had been seen. A security camera had caught the whole incident on video.

Luckily for Tommy, he was wearing his hood, and had his back to the camera. The video showed the mugger step towards him with a knife, before there was a flash of light from Tommy’s eyes, and a bang, before the mugger was thrown into a tree meters away.

After the video was a phone number labelled as the Foram Information Line, and a presenter begging the public to report any information related to this incident, and that the Foram in question was extremely dangerous.

Tommy locked himself in his room for the next two days, fearful of what would happen to him if he were found out. He browsed the internet, trying to figure out what it meant to be a Foram, and learnt of the Foraminis Meteor Shower, and found conspiracy theory blogs about what happens to Foram who are caught, adding to his fear.

However he also found support online. Groups of people advocating for fair treatment of Foram, and freedom for them to be themselves. People who believed him to be a hero.

It was winter break, so Tommy had no school, and spent the next week hidden at home, waiting for the media attention to die down. A week later, the news stated that there were no leads on finding the Central Park Foram, so Tommy snuck out, taking a subway to Queens, and dumping his hoodie in a bin there.

After that, he began training his power in secret. First he learnt to life objects with his mind, gradually lifting heavier and more awkward objects with ease, eventually able to lift nearly eighty kilograms without physically moving a muscle. He used this skill to levitate himself, allowing himself to jump higher. As first it was another metre or two, however eventually he was able to launch himself onto the fire escapes of buildings.

All the while, he kept his powers a secret, making sure to always wear his hood whilst he practised in case he was seen. This went on for the next nine years.

During school, he joined the computer club, and studied programming and networking, eventually going to college to study Ethical Hacking, graduating at the top of his class at age 20.

Tommy found work with the NYPD, working with their Cyber Division.

When he was 22, and had been with the NYPD for about 18 months, got a loan and bought a loft, using it as his base of operations for his new hobby.

Covering his steps, he created a website, introducing himself to the world as Impact, the first Foram vigilante. His first night out, he stopped an armed robbery, and when he got back that night, hacked the security system of the store to get the footage, before posting it on his website, and explaining what he stood for. Foram being able to use their gifts to benefit mankind.

For the next three years, Tommy continued to hit the streets at night as Impact, stopping crime, and narrowly escaping the police, using his own position in the police force to aid in his own fight against crime, and to cover his own tracks.

In that time other vigilantes popped up, however very few of them lasted more than a few months before retiring, getting caught and arrested, or getting injured. However Impact continued, and found fame among New York City.

When Demon’s Run emerged, Impact made statements in opposition of Demon’s Run’s methods, and when he could, attempted to stop their attacks, and help with supporting the victims of the attacks. However they were never enough of a problem to be his main concern.

On Christmas Eve of 2017, Demon’s Run seemingly changed their attitude, making a public threat to overrun Manhattan. Impact since then has ceased his general crime fighting in order to focus on investigating Demon’s Run and what their plan is.

Personality:
Tommy looks at the world and sees an epidemic of fear. Society’s fear of Foram, Foram fear to be themselves, and everyone fearing their own safety. Tommy believes that people should be able to live without fear, and fights for that, both by giving non-Foram a reason to trust the Foram, to try and create a world where Foram can live without hiding who they are, and that they use their abilities to benefit mankind.

Tommy tends to be a fairly genuine person, with the exception of his vigilante life. He tends to be honest, and forward with how he feels. Otherwise he tends to be fairly warm and friendly, avoiding conflict if he can.

Tommy is a master in his field, however when he is deep in his work, sometimes forgets that not everybody is as educated with computer systems as he is. Sometimes he works better by not explaining himself, but just being silent and working.

Name: Amy Richards
Gender: Female
Age: 29
Power (If any): Teleportation (Line of sight)
Appearance: Amy stands at 5 ft 7, with a slim build, and toned muscles from her regular attendance at the gym. Her long straight brown hair frames her face, with a straight fringe that sits above her dark green eyes.

Her usual attire consists of blue skinny jeans, a coloured blouse, and a thick woolen jumper. Her face is partially hidden behind a pair of somewhat thick, black-framed glasses.

History:
Amy grew up as an only child, with a seemingly normal childhood. She lived with her parents in downtown Manhattan, though was born in California, living there until she was about 2 years old.

During her childhood, Amy had repeated dreams of an older brother, however her parents insisted that they were just dreams, and that she didn’t have an older brother.

However when she was thirteen, the truth came out in an unexpected way.

Amy’s power manifested in a life or death situation. Whilst waiting for a bus, she was almost hit by a car whose brakes had failed. The moment the car was about to hit her, she disappeared, reappearing meters away.

When she told her parents, she finally found out the truth.

She had a brother. Michael, who was taken away when she was two.

When Michael was thirteen, he manifested a power. Pyrokinesis. The first time he used it was by accident in a public place, with little control over it. The government found out, and because of the volatile and dangerous nature of this power, he was taken away and institutionalized indefinitely.

Though their parents tried to fight to get him back, they were threatened into silence. Because there is a genetic element the vaccine being effective, there was a likelihood that Amy would also manifest a power. They threatened to take her away as well, if they didn’t stop fighting to get Michael back.

Because of this, they moved to Manhattan, hoping to start a new life, and protect Amy from meeting the same fate as Michael. Amy was still young enough that she was easy to deceive.

Amy spent the rest of her teenage years trying to track down her brother, eventually finding him when she was 19.

For the last seventeen years, Michael had been moved from facility to facility, with records of him ‘mysteriously’ vanishing from time to time. The first few years were in high security facilities, however as the ‘treatment’ became more intense, something broke inside Michael, allowing him to be kept at a public facility, under a false name.

Amy began her search for her brother with nothing but a few photos, and his name, but finally managed to locate him in a small mental institution in Rockland County, New York.

Amy met her brother, but found a shell of a man where he sat. He didn’t speak, didn’t even make eye contact, or seem to acknowledge that she even existed.

After seeing what the government did to her brother, just because their solution to the Foram problem didn’t work on him, Amy despised them. She tried exposing the truth online, however all of her attempts were shut down, and she barely escaped being caught. It was at this time when she realized that online activism wasn’t enough. To get people’s attention, and to expose the atrocities of the government, more drastic measure would need to be taken.

When she was 22, Amy met a few like minded Foram online, and soon after met them in person. This was the first official meeting of Demon’s Run.

They spent the next few years gathering numbers, and planning their reveal to the world.

Personality:
Deep down, Amy is a warm and caring person, and will do anything to defend those she cares about. However she struggles to find reason to care about the world when she believes they’d hate her if they knew the truth about her. Hence why she cares so much about other Foram, especially her comrades in Demon’s Run.

To the outside world, the non-Foram and especially those who believe the government propaganda, Amy is a cold b****. Whilst once upon a time, she felt guilty about the means Demon’s Run used to achieve their goals, she now understands that measures need to be taken to stop the government ruining countless more lives. She is driven to the end goal, and won’t let even her own conscience get in her way.

Name: Roberta Lee “Arlee” Garlake
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Power (If any): Superhuman strength, you would call it
Appearance:

At a glance, Arlee does not stand out from the legions of teenage runaways that flock to their Mecca of New York City. Her curly blonde hair, once bouncy and sheen, has become duller and limper, her blue eyes are sunken and constantly scanning for danger, and her full five-foot, ten frame is obscured by poor posture. In another life, with her heart-shaped face and flowing golden tresses, Arlee could be an attractive young woman in a girl-next-door way if it were not from her state of materialistic distress and her mutation. While from a glance, Arlee appears to be a normal teenage girl, underneath her wealth of hoodies, sweat pants, and other unflattering clothing, Arlee possesses the body of an Olympic bodybuilder, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime. Muscles as big of your head and abs so firm you could grate cheese on them grant the young woman the ability to perform incredible feats of strength.

History:
Arlee grew up with just her father, a fiery Southern Baptist preacher who was prone to the extremes of the emotional spectrum, lambasting his congregation or celebrating his daughter’s achievements in nothing but the most empathic and heartfelt ways. Despite his many sermons preached on the unnatural phenomenon of Forams, his skepticism about the government’s mandated vaccines convinced him to pay a small bribe to have Arlee avoid the injection that could have prevented her manifestation.

For most of her life, Arlee Garlake lived a happy life in the small Alabama town that she called home. She played soccer, had sleepovers, and was tight with a sizable group of friends. That all came to an end when she was thirteen. With the onset of puberty came a far more unique development: Arlee began putting on an incredible amount of muscle mass, eventually developing a physique that looked as if should belong to Sylvester Stallone rather than a frightened teenage girl.

While she had always loved her father and knew that he loved her, his warnings of the danger that Foram posed caused her to believe that she would be disowned and kicked out of his house should he find out about her condition. To this end, she began wearing large baggy clothing that hid her growing bulk, even in the hot sticky Alabaman summers, confident that even the slightest glance of her ripped forearm would result in government agents swooping in and experimenting on her.

Because of the prodigious amount of food that she needed to intake to maintain her new form, many people assumed that Arlee was simply becoming, in the cruel parlance of her peers, the “fat chick”, and she did nothing to correct their perceptions. Her mounting unpopularity and unwillingness to participate in even the most basic of social activities eroded her friend group into nothingness. Her father also bought the ruse, especially since he chalked up her shift in behavior, dress, and diet to the process of a female development that he remained woefully ignorant of.

For awhile it seemed as though this deception could continue forever, but then Arlee faced the greatest danger to her secret yet: gym class. Physical education was a graduation requirement, and, as Arlee was entering her senior year, she needed to take it starting in the fall. Try as she might to beg for a reprieve, the school’s counselors were not particularly attentive to what they saw as the pleas of an overweight youth attempting to avoid exercise. With no other choice, Arlee spent the summer working as a waitress to save up some money and then ran away from home the day before school began.

While she started off without a destination in mind, Arlee eventually decided to make her way to New York City, her thought process being that it would be easier to lose herself in the largest city in the country. Though she would never voice the foolish hope, Arlee also thought that, with so many people, at least one of them would know how to “undo” her condition.

Now, months after leaving everything she knew to hop from youth hostel to youth hostel, and facing one of the coldest Decembers that the city had ever seen, Arlee seems no closer to the happiness and peace that she is seeking.

Personality:
Arlee was once a happy and bubbly girl, but that all changed with the manifestation of her mutation. Four years of concealing her true nature from her father left her skittish and withdrawn, even now that she is far, far away from her old life. Despite living on her own for a few months, Arlee is still woefully naïve of the everyday dangers of life on the streets, so focused is she on concealing her status as a Foram. That being said, there is still a trace of the bright personality inside of her somewhere, waiting for someone trustworthy to help bring it out. Arlee has never lacked for loyalty, and depending on who she is finally able to open up to, she could fall in deep with the wrong crowd.

Alignment (If any): Unaffiliated currently.
Other: If flying is the soy sauce of superpowers, superstrength is the bread.

Name: Jonathan "Night Blossom" Miller
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Power (If any): Plant Manipulation

Appearance: On the outside, there isn't much that makes it clear Jonathan, AKA Night Blossom, is a Foram. He stands about 6'2", weighs about 180 pounds, and has a tan skin tone. He also has short brown hair and brown eyes.

He usually wears dark blue jeans, black sneakers with black socks, and a black hoodie over a white t-shirt. He also has a silver watch and a steel chain necklace. To any other person, there is virtually nothing that makes it possible to detect his Foram powers until he starts using them. He also doesn't show very much restraint in using them when it comes to combat situations.

In terms of physical attributes, he's stronger than most even though he's not quite the bodybuilder type. Still, in a fist fight, usually he'll win and he's not the type most muggers are going to go after simply because they don't want to end up with a broken nose and pulverized groin. And that's even without Jonathan's powers being utilized.

History: Jonathan grew up in Brooklyn, right on Parkside Avenue overlooking Prospect Park. As a child, Jonathan was always quite smart but never liked taking orders or following directions and he often questioned the authority of his teachers and the rest of the school faculty. As a result, his failing grades were not because of low intelligence, but because he hated taking orders from teachers and having to do assignments to prove he knew the material. On top of all that, he greatly disliked being graded. Even if he got questions right, he was stripped of his grades because he didn't "show his work" or "explain his answers" even though he was right. As a result, he grew up hating society that fosters this kind of garbage while his classmates, very often teacher's pets and butt-kissers, would be successful and would head off to ivy league colleges. He felt it was a "loser's world" and it caused his sarcastic and cynical nature to grow.

Jonathan tried to major in structural engineering, but again, while he had the smarts to be a great engineer, it was the schoolwork and assignments that he didn't care for. For the few he did that he actually want to do, he really excelled, but the others were things he didn't care for and as a result, failed simply because of incompletion from a lack of motivation, not because of poor work.

During his college years, Jonathan discovered his Foram power. He realized he could create and modify plant life, shape it, govern it, recreate it, make produce grow within just seconds, and many other similar vegetation-based powers. At first, he felt it was borderline useless and didn't have the destructive nature he was hoping for in a Foram power until he delved deeper into what he could do with it. He realized he could weaponize vines, thorn bushes, and even create neurotoxins. It also gave him unlimited access to create, harvest, and distribute what are normally the most rarest and most dangerous of plants.

With no hope of a career left, Jonathan got into the underground world of drug trafficking by becoming a supplier. His power allowed him to quickly and indiscreetly grow highest-grade marijuana and get it to distributors and dealers quickly without having to slowly grow them in hidden greenhouses. It gave him more than enough income, but it also meant there was no way he could settle down anywhere for too long if he wanted to avoid getting caught. Meanwhile, his ability to create extremely lethal poisonous plants like rosary peas and castor beans made him a sought-after resource by assassins as some of the accessibility to these plants is extremely difficult.

As a result of his trade, Jonathan is always forced to live on the run and be ready to go at any moment. Because of all this, he doesn't have too many physical belongings of great value that he can't afford to leave behind, but he's usually got plenty of cash and does money laundering when those opportunities present themselves. As time goes on, Jonathan has been experimenting and working with his power to create his own new and completely homemade types of plants, flowers, and vegetation for whatever he or his clients need them for. He can provide medicinal herbs and medicine, but due to the fact he doesn't have much of a doctor's background, he needs someone else to tell him what exactly they need for certain injuries. He is, however, learning through this and has gotten better at guessing which medicinal herbs and plants are more ideal for certain situations.

In the past, Jonathan has been seriously injured twice because of getting caught in the middle of gang wars and drug raids, but because of his involvement, going to a hospital was simply out of the question. After trying some more experimentation on himself, he realized his Foram power extends to his own body. He can turn himself into a humanoid plant form to mend over his wounds and regenerate, though this isn't a fast process and still takes a few minutes of uninterrupted focus which is usually only available before or after a fight. He usually prefers to go right back to being human to blend in, though if he anticipates combat, he'll actually assume a humanoid plant form to be ready to heal himself if he should become injured, though this transformation takes a few minutes.

In this form, he'll usually be wearing very large and highly toxic and poisonous flowers all around his body. Several of these, like the ones on his back and on the rear of his head are umbrella-sized while his whole lower trunk is surrounded by giant flower petals like a skirt and work both as clothing and as a protective covering body armor. Meanwhile, he wears a belt, wristbands, headband, and necklace of these same colorful but highly toxic flowers. Jonathan is immune to the toxins, but anyone attempting to fight him in hand to hand combat or with a bladed or blunt weapon runs an extremely high risk of being poisoned from them even just from touching a single petal with their bare skin. Some of his not-so-smart enemies have ridiculed his decision to wear flowers like this and look like a colorful walking flower bouquet, up until they realize the truth the hard way that he might as well be dripping with corrosive acid. Sure, he could have decided to wear thorns, briars, and cactus spines as his armor instead, but he finds it just a bit more satisfying when the threat isn't quite so immediately obvious and is actually deadlier. Not to mention he tried a cactus-like form and he was often unintentionally pricking himself. As a result of his tendency to take on this flower form, his nickname became "Night Blossom" among his peers and while he doesn't care an ounce about subtlety and doesn't care if his actual name is used, he'll use the nickname while others are trying to protect and keep their actual names confidential.

While he uses this "Night Blossom" form, those who are smarter will at least try to shoot him, though for Jonathan, bullet wounds aren't hard at all to heal in this plant/flower form provided he has a minute and isn't riddled with gunfire. His survivability in this form is much higher than a human's and he could even regenerate appendages that have been dismembered. Fire and ice, however, are much bigger problems than before, but usually the police and gangs aren't using these elements against him. However, he would have a bad experience with a Molotov cocktail if that was ever used on him.

Today, Jonathan is now part of Demon's Run to keep Foram powers protected. While his have been realized and mastered, he feels no one has the right to take the powers away from Forams that haven't realized theirs just yet.

Personality: Jonathan is often snarky and sarcastic. He may sound pessimistic, but in truth, not really all that much worries him as long as he has his Foram powers ready. He isn't too worried about the cops or anything like that either. He's been shot at, stabbed, and has been in places where all hell has broken loose in gang rivalries. He doesn't align with any gangs beyond payment, so when the Bloods and the Crips start shooting each other in turf wars, he just lets them do their thing while he moves off to the side in a safe area and lets them enjoy themselves.

He isn't very good with following orders, but if he can relate to the one giving them, chances are he'll be a bit more compliant, though he'll often want something in return or expect the favor to be repaid. He likes Amy a little bit and he'll be reliable to her for the most part, but it doesn't go much further than that. Getting him to do something he doesn't personally agree with is very unlikely to happen. If he does go along with a suggestion, it's only because he personally sees value to it and likely felt that way to begin with.

He joined Demon's Run because simply put, he hates the vaccine and the elimination of the Foram before they've even had the chance to experience what should rightfully be theirs. He feels this power is their right and if someone feels they can take it away, then Jonathan feels he should be able to pluck their eyes out and take their sight away, or rip their legs off and take their ability to walk and run away. As a result, he'll be out to destroy and wipe out any supporters of the vaccine and anyone that tries to fund it or distribute it. That's the one big thing that pushed him to join Demon's Run while before, he didn't want to make any permanent commitment to a gang affiliation beyond being involved with the drug trafficking and making sure he gets the money he wants.

Jonathan's attitude is that even if all were to go completely to hell, he could potentially survive with no money and no possessions.

Alignment (If any): Demon's Run

Other: In most cases, Jonathan's plant-based powers are similar to grass-type Pokémon attacks, though he does go a few steps further in terms of conjuring them. While in his plant/flower humanoid form, he's essentially like a grass-type Pokémon.

Name: Roy Acciai "Blind Specter"
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Power (If any): Light based invisibility
Appearance: Roy is a 5'8 male weighing in at about 162 pounds. He is clean and kept, usually wearing a suit or something nice when he is in public. He has black hair with a widow's peak and light colored skin.
History: Roy grew up the son of a middle class family that had a history of the Foram gene. Born in Albany, New York, Roy was never aware of his parents' secrets. All that he knew was that the Foram shots were bad, but he didn't know why. While it wasn't easy, Roy managed to skip all the shots and forge the necessary documents to get by. He went through middle and high school with an increasing interest in history and politics. He began to study law with the intent to go to law school and become a member of Congress. Upon hearing of his aspirations, his parents strongly warned against this, worried this could bring unwanted attention to their family. However, Roy refused to listen.

When Roy was 16, he discovered he could turn invisible. While in class one day, Roy left to use the restroom, only for the whole place to go into full lock down while he was out of the classroom. One of the other students had gone full on psycho and planned to kill as many students as possible. Roy tried to return to his classroom but due to protocol he was not allowed back in. So Roy took his chances with hiding in the boy's restroom. As he sat crosslegged on one of the toilets, Roy heard the shooter enter the bathroom. The student began to kick open each stall door, looking for people hiding inside. Roy could hear them drawing closer and began to pray that somehow the shooter would miss him. He heard the shooter stop outside of his stall and felt the force of the kick shack the stall as the shooter kicked the door open. Roy stopped breathing, making eye contact with the shooter before the shooter suddenly just moved off, as if he had never even seen Roy. Then everything went dark. It was only after the shooter had left that Roy dared to move and his eyesight returned.

Roy later confided in his parents what had happened and through training, they realized he had light based invisibility. This meant that Roy could turn himself completely invisible, but at the cost of his eyesight. After a few seconds, Roy would go totally blind until he lifted his invisibility. Roy's parents expressed the importance of keeping his powers a secret, especially if he pursued a position in government. Roy had never understood more in his life the seriousness of his situation. Still, he was not one to give up on his dream and continued on the political path, going through law school and eventually obtaining one of the House of Representative seats for the state of New York. Since he is considered fresh blood, he is largely overlooked, giving him an advantage of lurking close to his enemies as well as his allies. While he himself doesn't do much vigilante work, he does have accounts on Foram forums known as "Blind Specter" to get a better feeling of what the Forams want so he can properly represent it in Congress. He does spend a fair amount of time in his office in Manhattan though.
Personality: Roy is driven, wanting to make change and willing to go to great lengths to see it happen. He may seem cold on the political front, but if you get to know him as a person rather than a politician, it is easy to see the kind soul underneath. Roy is very loyal, willing to stick with a cause or person for longer than most would ever dare.

Roy is very passionate about government and will defend the system as best he can when it is criticized. While he is willing to acknowledge its faults, he does not believe anarchy is any better than the situation they have now. As a result, he really doesn't like Demon's Run, seeing them as a symbol of anarchy when there is already a system in place that can accomplish what the Demon's Run wants to in a format that has many fewer causalities.
Alignment (If any): Vigilantes
Other: His head of his political staff is Nadire.

Name: Nadire Masson
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Power (If any): Telepathy
Appearance: Nadire is a 5'3 woman with a thin frame and long legs. She has slightly dark skin with shoulder blade length brown hair. Her eyes are dark brown and she has two moles on her left cheek.
History: Nadire was born and brought the United States with a dual citizenship when she was just a baby. Her father, the United States ambassador to Turkey, was a proud anti-foram until his daughter tested positive for having foram DNA. He pressed for his daughter to get the vaccines but later found out that his wife had been paying off the doctors to avoid the vaccines. Shocked, the ambassador did his best to keep the conspiracy under wraps and place Nadire in a position where she could most likely be undetectable by the government.

This ended up resulting in Nadire studying to become a political strategist. For a while, the subject was very difficult to her, until one morning in her freshman year of high school, she was able to hear the inner thoughts of those all around her. She began to practice, able to turn it on and off at will and somewhat focus on certain speakers to hear their thoughts about the background noise of everyone else's. It was during law school that she met Roy and they kept in contact even after graduation. Thus, when Roy was in need of a strategist on his team, Nadire was perfect for the job.
Personality: Analytical and precise but also very nervous, Nadire prefers to stay quiet and observe rather than speech herself. She tends to isolate herself so that she can relax without much interruption from those around her. Nadire has a strong sense of obligation that means if she feels like she needs to do something, she will get it do and go to great lengths to meet all expectations set for her. She personally has no stake in the Foram fight so long as she isn't caught, but she could be easily swayed one way or the other.
Alignment (If any): None

Name: Magenta LaRue, aka Seraph

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Power: Semi-Willful Power Shifting. Magenta has a power that is theoretically one of the most powerful that could exist: at will, she can change powers. However, this power comes with a major caveat in that she cannot, at all, choose the powers that result. Furthermore, her powers have an agenda of their own: they’ll generally shift into something that makes it possible for her to survive a situation, but not straightforwardly and not with much consideration for her other objectives. Trying to game this by resetting her powers multiple times in a row will result in her powers punishing her with weaker and more obnoxious abilities. Generally speaking, the risker her situation, the more potent a power she might be granted, but this is no hard and fast rule. To make this even more annoying, she actually does not know the specific powers she gets: she gets general feelings about them in the vein of “this power is perceptive/kinetic/physical/etc,” and she had to learn what feelings meant in the same way a child learns to read. She cannot even stop resetting her powers at a time where she might get a good one, because when she goes to sleep, she loses any powers entirely.

Appearance:

Magenta’s appearance varies day to day, for she often uses makeup and hair dye to change her appearance. She’s a hair under six feet with an olive skin tone, with a sturdy, heavy backpack on her back, and those are the only things that stay consistent in any civilian identity she happens to use. Her most consistent appearance is the one she uses when she wants to appear as Seraph. She wears a cheap white mask, but she decorated it with a sharpie and her incredible art skills, making it flow with incredibly elegant and ornate designs. She usually wears very cheap clothes or else clothes that she could have shoplifted easily. She has highly functional muscle from all the physical exercise she does when trying to not die.

History:

Magenta knows what happens to the Foram.

Her father ran several facilities that managed captured Foram, and when Magenta was 11, she went with him to work one day. He did not intend her to see anything, but Magenta was always a curious child, and when she slipped from his sight to go explore, she opened a door she shouldn’t have and saw something happening to a Foram in there.

She closed the door before anyone noticed and told her dad that she went to the bathroom, nothing more. But whatever it was, she refuses to talk about it even now, and it clearly has stuck in her mind very hard.

She struggled quietly about this information for two years, but when she discovered her abilities, she realized that the vaccine her father made her take failed, utterly and completely, even if the way it failed changed when she wanted it to, and every time she went to sleep besides. She struggled to come up with a plan to deal with the situation: after all, she had a very comfortable life. She was used to the comforts that her family’s wealth got her, to excelling not only in school but also in anything vaguely artistic.

Magenta had, thankfully, been very very careful with any odd seeming impulses, refusing to indulge them in front of anyone for years, on the off chance that her vaccine didn’t take and her father threw her into one of his facilities. Less pleasant, however, was her decision seven days after she realized her powers, during a meeting her father had with some of his subordinates. Her powers had granted her a increased knowledge of chemistry, and she used it to make and contain fluorine gas until she intruded on his board meeting that day and dumped it on his head, very publicly burning him alive.

At first, the thirteen year old Magenta had no idea what to do with her newfound fugitive from the law status. She was able to evade the law with some success with her art skills: she figured out shoplifting pretty quickly, and could make her face look entirely different with the makeup she snuck into a backpack she stole. In her position, many people would have fallen into a bad crowd, but Magenta did not. No, she did not merely fall into a bad crowd. Oh no. Mere 'bad crowds' cowered in fear of who she actually fell in with, for this was no mere 'bad crowd', or even an 'advanced bad crowd’, this was pure evil: namely, Theresa "Tess" Lively, aka Powder Girl.

When pro Foram groups argue about Foraminis having rights, Tess single-handedly demonstrates a very good counter argument. Her ability to manipulate particulate matter was not one most people would have thought very threatening until she very abruptly appeared on the scene by using her power to scatter sawdust in the middle of Times Square to create a dust explosion, singing “Humpty Dumpty” just prior. Attempts to stop her went abysmally: the list of people who were killed in the attempt is depressingly long, ranging from powerful Foraminis to elite trained government agents, up to and including Navy SEALs. More terrifyingly, she did not seem to have an overall agenda in perpetrating her massacres: she simply thought that murder was absurdly funny and entertaining, and thought of people only in terms of how amusing their deaths could be. Many people hesitated fighting her early on because her short stature and cutesy, high-pitched voice made them believe themselves mistaken about who was the cause of all the death around her, but very quickly people learned to take her deadly seriously, and entire crowds would blanche in fear when they heard her cyanide-cute voice singing nursery rhymes just before she found a new, creative way to kill everyone in the crowd.

And she decided to take Magenta under her wing, because the teenager had, “Lots and lots of potential!” and could even “become super duper fun!”

Magenta was, understandably, not at all enthused by this prospect, but when she tried to object, Tess made it clear that, “Oh, you’re such a silly willy! You can’t leave until you graduate, and to do that you’ve gots to kill me! And if you faaaaiiiil...”

Tess’s overly saccharine grin combined with the dust cloud she flung with lethal velocity to just miss Magenta made it clear that Tess would have great fun making Magenta her next amusement.

And so for four months, Magenta was forced to join Tess and the latter’s sick, terrifying amusements. At first, Magenta tried her level best to avoid participating, but Tess was starting to make it clear that Magenta needed to start “practice!” or else face Tess’s nonexistent mercy. But Magenta was clever, and realized that Tess didn’t care who she killed, so long as she was killing, and therefore started to manipulate Tess into pursuing targets of Magenta’s choosing. Under Magenta’s subtle redirection, the duo went after anti Foram officials, gangsters, and other terrorists, and life was, in a very dark way, looking up for Magenta, who went around, wearing an ornately decorated mask and calling herself ‘Seraph.’

But when, on a rare solo excursion, Magenta saw someone give her the same kind of terrified face people gave Tess, Magenta realized that no matter how noble her intentions, she was still not only enabling Tess’s massacres, but participating in them.

At first, Magenta despaired. But very quickly, she grew furious at what she had become. She grew angry at the system that abused the Foram to the point where she killed her own father for being a monster, the laws in place that made her very existence illegal, and the ‘mentor’ who shaped her into the very sort of monster she hated. And so, Magenta decided to ‘graduate.’

She very quickly discarded the idea of fighting Tess directly: while Tess preferred ambushes, Tess had also acquired terrifying experience in fights to the death, and the amount of people she killed for trying to fight her was enough that Magenta could not even begin to count them. Furthermore, when Magenta “rolled” her powers on the day that she decided to kill Tess, the power of the day was an ability that enhanced coordination between allies, minimizing friendly fire and increasing synergy, a power not precisely suited to the overwhelming lethal force Magenta intended to “gift” to Tess. “Save scumming” having the potential to make the situation worse forced Magenta to consider how to use this enhanced coordination power to kill Tess, as she had no intention of staying with Tess for even a day longer.

Magenta ended up contacting many Foram, leaking Tess’s current location. When three of them arrived to actually try to kill Tess, Magenta stealthily used the enhanced coordination power to make the fight against Tess easier. Unfortunately, while Tess had to try quite a bit during the fight, it was quite clear that, even against the well coordinated and powerful Foram, Tess held the advantage.

Until Magenta stabbed Tess from behind with a knife to the back of the neck.

While Tess had powerful abilities, she also required concentration to use them, Without those powers, Tess was unarmed, 4’7”, and slender against someone with a foot and close to a hundred pounds on her who was using a knife.

Magenta didn’t let up with the knife after the first attack. She stabbed Tess again and again. At first, she was methodical, but she quickly dissolved into an incoherent rage as she stabbed Tess over and over and over, crying and yelling and screaming as she used the knife to stab Tess into the consistency of salsa, venting her frustrations not only at Tess’s tutelage, but also at the terrible direction of her life since she first saw what her father enabled against the Foraminis, only stopping several minutes after the main evidence Tess’s body was a red stain on the ground and finely chopped meat.

She then got up, brushed herself off, and calmly asked if any of the other (now dumbfounded) Foraminis had lighter fluid, gasoline, or thermite.

Very shortly after, people began to react to Magenta with even more fear than they already did whenever she was recognizable: apparently, someone recorded the whole thing and put it on the internet (one person actually reuploaded it, replacing the audio with “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead”). Furthermore, the fear only grew for the next years, and it took her a bit to realize why: while she knows that her power is an enormous douche that likes trolling her all the time, all everyone who fought her (and died or were severely injured for their efforts) only saw someone who survived to kill Tess at the age of 14 and who consistently shows up to combat with a different power every time for no apparent reason. Furthermore, attempts at diplomacy failed very badly, as Magenta has a tendency to react to overtures with extreme violence, thanks to assuming that any “allies” actually seek to control her, which only exacerbates her intense feelings of loneliness (that she attempts to suppress as much as possible).

This is where Magenta is now, with an ability that makes her powerful, an intellect that makes her dangerous, and a sanity that is barely hanging on and slipping all the time.

Personality:
On the surface, Magenta is very superficial. Practically every other sentence she uses has some variation of “like”, “so”, or “whatever.” Her actions make this impression even worse, as she has a tendency to act almost entirely on impulse, easily trading a long term benefit for a short term advantage, even to her detriment. She easily comes across as vapid and stupid, and is difficult to take entirely seriously between her speech patterns and her actions. She is not precisely fickle, but she is definitely not the type to stick to a long term master plan. On top of all of this, she has a tendency to be abrasive and condescending, particularly when someone is trying to intimidate or otherwise control her. This especially tends to show up in various graffiti that she leaves around the city, suggesting that both the Vigilantes and Demon’s Run go do things anatomically difficult to impossible.

However, while her impulsiveness has a tendency to make her come across as less than intelligent, Magenta is both a good critical thinker and extremely creative. It does not matter if she is approaching a canvas, an instrument, or a particularly tough opponent, she is very good at creating entirely new approaches from very little material to work with. Furthermore, her tendency to be impulsive in conjunction with a power that practically exists to jerk her around has left her in many situations with her back against the metaphorical wall, developing her native creativity to the point where she can improvise off of practically nothing. This was especially true after murdering her father, and then even more so after her little apprenticeship under Powder Girl: surviving when everyone is trying to kill you rarely happens by accident.

Alignment: To Demon’s Run, she’s a particularly hardcore vigilante who likes to kill them sometimes, but she’s a bit too murdery to fit into the vigilantes proper. So technically neutral, but plenty of people have reason to want to recruit or kill her.

Good news! My better judgement about not joining more RPs has been overridden. Could you reserve me slots for a big buff rough and tough werecat and her small fussy aerokinetic surrogate child?

Name: Tam Jojo, AKA the Shadowcat.

Gender: Female.

Age: 36.

Power (If any): Essentially, Tam's a werecat. At will, Tam can shapeshift into a somewhat mutated melanistic jaguar (what most people just refer to as a "black panther” and then call it a day). This transformation is not painful, but it is strenuous and it takes time. Partial shifts such as having feline ears or claws are common and fairly easy; a full shift, on the other hand, takes anywhere from fifteen to thirty seconds (up to a full minute if she's been abusing it). Generally, she can manage about three full shifts to and from her feline form per day; at around four, symptoms from fatigue and muscle pain to full blackouts become common, worsening with further transformations. While in feline mode, she remains in control of her mental faculties, though feline instincts are there to help her navigate the changed body - instincts which can sometimes override the human mind in chaotic or stressful situations. In addition, her power gives her above-human resilience and senses in human form, and when transformed she's larger and much stronger than the average jaguar.

Appearance: Tam is not the sort of person who you easily lose in a crowd. Standing at 6'5", broad-shouldered, with a big body padded by fat and plenty of muscle, she's best summed up as "freaking huge". As a black woman, she has dark skin, which is marked by many scars that criss-cross her body - a wide plethora ranging from big burn marks along her left shoulder and left flank, several gash marks on her belly, and a very prominent scar on the left side of her face from cheekbone to chin. Aside from - or as some people, including Tam, would say "because of" - this scar, Tam has a fairly attractive face, with deep black eyes, full lips, and rounded features aside from a strong jaw. While her hair is naturally black, she keeps it in a "faux hawk" style, leaving a stripe of white-dyed curly, fluffy hair in the middle of her head. She favors thick leather jackets, both for fashion and protection from attacks, though she can also often be sighted in pink or green tanks that show of her muscles. She doesn't like to dress up or wear a lot of jewelry, but she does keep a fake-glass pendant shaped like the Greek delta on pretty much all the time. For Tam, think "huge butch black lady who could probably throw you across the room" and you'll get there. Here's a picture! (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/357200791439802369/405375401238724619/Screen_Shot_2018-01-23_at_9.55.26_AM.png)

Tam's feline form has a few variations from the traditional jaguar. For starters, her jaguar is about 4'5" at the shoulder, tall enough to give a tiger pause, with thick muscle to match. She also has slightly handlike paws, giving her just a little bit of dexterity without completely reducing her mauling power. Her coat is heavily melanistic, with only a few very dark rosettes visible in the midst of the black. Tam's feline form retains all of Tam's scars, resulting in the appearance of a huge, grizzled catbeast. When she shifts, her irises turn silver.

History: A little kindness goes a long way. Tam Jojo learned that as a kid, growing up in Harlem, where community was very important. Her childhood was fairly uneventful; everyone knew everyone in her little corner of town, and she was energetic and charismatic enough that she made a lot of friends. However, when she turned fourteen, she quite literally changed. One night, while she was trying to force herself to focus on her homework, she transformed into a massive black panther. While she retained her human mind, the sudden shapeshifting was horrifying; she went into a terrified frenzy, forcing her parents to lock her in her room until she could transform back. It was only their calming words that enabled her to resume her human form.

Tam bounced back quickly. After a few days, she was already pushing her limits, testing the extent of her abilities. Her parents came down on her sharply for this; they knew the consequences of being identified as a Foram, whereas Tam, who had only ever heard of Foram in textbooks and newspapers, didn't. So when her claws came out during a scrap in middle school, she didn't see it as any worse than just scratching someone with her fingernails, but the authorities disagreed. The short stint she spent in juvenile hall only pushed her to be more rebellious. Why did she have to hide who and what she was?

She never found the answer to that - and honestly, she never went looking. Instead, she began testing the limits even more. A few jail visits for showing off her powers did nothing to tame her attitude, so it was only a matter of time before she ended up in proper trouble again. After a particularly rough incident in which a bar fight, one which Tam didn't start but absolutely tried to finish by threatening the aggressor with her claws, she found herself facing a years-long sentence. A strange, gentle man intervened; he'd hired an excellent lawyer for her, causing the sentence to be pared down to mere months. Tam sought out this "Orville Leland" immediately upon her release. The man was one of the founding members of the Foramic Rights Coalition, a group that did all they could to fight for change for Foram and to support Foram within the system. Having been floored by Orville's generosity, Tam pledged her loyalty to the cause immediately, leading rally after rally and protest after protest.

It couldn't last, however. What had been intended to be a peaceful rally ended with a fight between Foram and counter-protesters. Tam managed to restrain herself from the fighting; as a result, she managed to walk away. Much to her dismay, a lot of her friends didn't. When Aria showed up at her door and told her that Orville had been arrested, the only surprise Tam had was that Orville's weird adopted kid was the one to deliver the news. Aria asked Tam for room and board; Tam remembered Orville's intervention in her life and one-upped the teen, offering to let her stay as long as she needed. She didn't like kids much, but Orville bailed her butt out of the fire once. She could do the same for his kid, doggone it. Her job as a bouncer isn't the classiest or most luxurious in the world, but she gets by. Even if she doesn't one hundred percent know what to do with the "little tyke" she's gotten surprisingly fond of.

Personality: Brash/Suspicious/Protective/Confident/Stubborn/Reliable.
Generally, Tam is a pretty enjoyable person to be around. Despite being a little tactless, she’s usually good for a laugh, and tries not to take herself - or pretty much anything - too seriously. However, if someone pushes her boundaries or gets too touchy-feely, she gets very grouchy very fast. Getting close to people is a bit of a scary prospect for her, as she feels like loss or betrayal are inevitable. But if she makes the self-professed ‘mistake’ of forming a solid friendship, she gets surprisingly clingy and ferociously protective.

Tam’s word is her bond - if she says she’ll get something done, it gets done, end of discussion. This can sometimes work against her, as she is a very stubborn person, and she’s been known to refuse to give up or ask for help even on occasions where doing so would have spared her pain and gotten the job done more quickly and efficiently. She tends to be a bit rash, under the impression that she can handle anything. She’s usually right, but when she’s not, things usually get very ugly very quickly.

Alignment (If any): Technically unaffiliated, but casting longing looks at Demon's Run. Let her LOOSE.

Other: Tam is gonna be really fun to handle on a PXR RP because most incarnations of Tam average about 1 swear every two sentences. Also worth noting: Tam can't make any noises a very big jaguar wouldn't be able to when she's fully shifted. Cats don't talk.

Name: Aria Leland, AKA Squall.

Gender: Female.

Age: 17.

Power (If any): Aria's Foramis exposure has given her a broad range of abilities, allowing her to manipulate wind as well as calling upon its attributes. She can summon wind to throw at opponents; while tiring, this includes wind so compressed that it can deliver cuts. She can also apply changes to air pressure to temporarily disorient opponents, or better redirect sound or light towards her. She can also, for lack of a better term, 'borrow' the speed of the wind, granting her short bursts of super-speed. TL;DR, aerokinetic with a broad spectrum of not-very-strong abilities to choose from.

Appearance: With an unremarkable 5'6" height, fairly flat body, and not overly attractive face (her nose is too pointy, she complains, and her eyes are so big she looks goofy, and her face is too long), Aria is pretty much a textbook gangly teen girl whose body hasn't quiiite gotten the memo that it's time to be a grown-up now. Being a Foram has modified her appearance somewhat - her skin is very pale and her short hair is pure white; between that and her blue eyes, most people mistake her for an albinistic person (which isn't wholly unfounded - the poor kid gets sunburnt ridiculously easily, though she's mercifully escaped most other health problems associated with a near-absence of pigmentation). Aria dresses as nicely as she can; she doesn't have an abundance of fancy clothes, but she makes do and her usual look can be described as "casually fashionable". She keeps a cord necklace hidden under her shirt most of the time; on the end of it is a faux-glass delta pendant, one of the few mementos she's managed to salvage from home. Here's a picture! (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/357200791439802369/405375400303132674/Screen_Shot_2018-01-23_at_9.55.23_AM.png)

History: "Home" is a fluid term for Aria Leland. Her birth mother, despite being "immunized" against Foramis exposure, was a healer, able to treat a plethora of injuries and illnesses with a touch and a bit of effort. This is pretty much all Aria knows about her birth parents besides vague memories and impressions. When she was four years old, her parents were killed in a car wreck, her mother dead before she could even attempt to heal her father's grievous wounds.

From there, Aria's life went from fine to bad to worse. Her wallflower attitude made it difficult for her to find proper parents to adopt her, and years' worth of bouncing from foster home to foster home only continued to impress upon her the importance of silence and not making a fuss. What's more, as a potential Foram, she faced cautious scrutiny from many foster parents, even from other children. She was treated as a ticking time-bomb, which didn't lessen the surprise and pain when Aria's hair changed from brown to white within the course of a week and her complexion transformed to that of a sheet ghost. The ability to control wind and water was a paltry exchange from the redoubled ostracization she faced.

It was at this time, when Aria was eleven years old, when Orville Leland walked into Aria's life. The cheerful, chubby black man couldn't have looked any more different from the recalcitrant, pale, twiggish young woman, but with surprising speed Aria found herself trusting her new father. It helped that they had their powers to bond over - Orville was himself a Foram, able to alter the flow of time. What's more, he was an activist; one of the more prominent members of a group known as the Foramic Rights Coalition. While fighting against the US government's harsh anti-Foram policies often felt like a lost cause, he still did his best to make a difference. This was a huge inspiration to Aria, who had previously been forcibly submerged in the opinion that Foramis were unilaterally bad.

The next five years were the best of Aria's life, but it didn't last. After the FRC's rallies began getting out of hand, with incidents of public power displays and even attacks on police, the government cracked down hard on the group. One particularly nasty incident ended with FRC members and counterprotesters getting violent - and when Orville used his powers to intervene, he was arrested as one of the aggressors. Aria, rather than letting herself be taken back into the foster system, sought out one of Orville's associates. Tam Jojo wouldn't have been Orville's first choice to take care of his daughter in his absence, but Aria wasn't spoiled for choice. While Aria was initially skittish around Tam, she's come to view the woman as something like a cool older sister. She still goes to school, as well as working a bit so that she can pay her keep. The Demon's Run group has attracted her attention. Maybe revolution is the way to make a change.

Personality: Reserved/Kindhearted/Emotional/Nervous/Stubborn/Hard-Working.
For the most part, Aria is a quiet person. She tends to be a wallflower most of the time, and when she does talk to people who she doesn't know well, she's polite but withdrawn, sticking to small talk and revealing little to no details about herself. When she's with people she's more comfortable with, she's not exactly open, but she tends to hide and conceal a lot less, revealing that she is in fact a very emotional young woman driven by strongly-held beliefs, passions, and convictions. In fact, these convictions tend to be set in stone. Once Aria establishes a belief, she almost never turns away from it, and she tends to get defensive if these ideals are challenged. In all of her tasks, she does the best she can; she doesn't have a lot of self-confidence, but one thing she does take pride in is a job well-done.

One major thing that drives Aria is kindness - she truly wants the best for most people, though she doesn't mind taking questionable approaches or tactics in order to accomplish a greater good. In interpersonal relationships, she tries to be nurturing; in the community, she tries to be a good influence. This is sometimes made difficult by her own reticence, as she is made easily nervous by strange people and situations. She's doing her best, y'all.

Alignment (If any): N/A, but she wouldn't hesitate to join the Demon's Run if asked and she may or may not be seriously considering a stint as a vigilante to hone her skills.

Other: If you've ever read Codex Alera, yes, Aria is literally a windcrafter, though her superheroic incarnation was originally designed for a setting about powers based on Pokemon. She started off as a Wingull.

Also, Orville Leland's time powers aren't exactly anything to worry about. He can speed up/slow down time in ranges of space. The more time he's moving, the less space he can affect; he wouldn't be able to age someone to death or anything that drastic.

Name: Arden O'Conner

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Power (If any): Arden can project herself into animals. She can see through their eyes, and understand their thoughts. This ability is draining and she eventually gets kicked back out into her own body. While she is projecting, her human body is as if asleep, making it vulnerable. Projecting into smaller animals is less draining and she can remain in them for longer. After years of training, the largest animal Arden can project into comfortably and remain that way for at least a couple of hours is a cat. When inside an animal, she can control their movements to some extent though it becomes difficult if she tries to fight their natural instincts. When inside an animal, Arden can also not venture too far from her body. The furthest she has got is a couple hundred metres before she is snapped back into her own body. Once as a young teenager, Arden accidentally projected herself into a human child, saving him from running out onto a busy road. It was an extremely strange and unpleasant experience and she has never tried to project into a human again.

Appearance: Arden is of slight build and what her father describes as 'willowy'. While she looks weak, she is quite fit due to her love of running. She has chin-length, dark red hair, green eyes and freckles. Her favourite outfit is leggings, shin-high brown boots, a knitted scarf and an oversized grey hoodie.

Arden's pet bird Rafferty is an American Kestrel, small for his species, he fits in the palms of her hands. He likes to snuggle down into her hood when travelling.

History: Arden grew up on a farm on the west coast of the USA. Arden found Rafferty as an abandoned chick on the farm as a child. One day close after her 13th birthday she was watching Raff fly and wishing she could be up there with him. For a brief moment she looked down and could see herself on the ground. When she realised what had happened, she trained hard with Raff, learning to enter his mind at will. Raff doesn't mind Arden's presence but has developed resistance to being controlled by her and has been known to peck at her body angrily when she tries. She never told her parents what she could do as she was scared for their safety if someone found out.

When she was 15, Arden's parents sent her to live with her aunt in Manhattan to go to a fancy school in New York to get a 'proper education'. They had saved all their lives for this and Arden didn't want to let them down. She had to fight to take Rafferty with her as her parents thought it would be a poor life for a bird, but Raff adjusted well and often accompanied Arden by hanging out in the schoolyard. When classes got particularly boring, Arden would project into Raff and he would fly her around the block. When some of the kids at school started noticing the oddly close bond Arden had with Rafferty, she stopped bringing him to school. Luckily her aunt's place was close enough to the school that she could still project into Raff whenever she wanted.

Arden recently graduated high school and is taking a year off, working part-time at a bookshop to save money for college. The owner of the store likes her a lot and treats Raff as a kind of mascot. As the Foram trouble has become more widespread, she is worried about being uncovered and has been lying low, not wanting to reveal her powers.

Personality: Arden is cautious by nature, having hid her Foram power from her parents since age 13. To others she is outwardly friendly but does not give away much of herself. Her friends from high school have all left for college, so she has become a bit of a loner and spends most of her spare time reading books or taking day trips with Raff to get out of the city. Arden is outwardly calm and composed, though she can be very competitive. When she lets her guard down, she can be extremely loyal. She is a bit of a worrier and likes to plan everything in advance.

Darn it Sarah, now I need to come up with a whole new character! :P

Come to think of it, Desolate Divine are duplicate powers allowed, or do we all need to have unique powers?

No rush, DD!

By the by, I imagine that some alternate history is in place, so I'm going to ask this explicitly - is it okay if my characters have ties to a Foram-rights group that was inspired by the American Civil Rights Movement (especially, no joke with Tam intended, the Black Panthers)? Given your timeline, the movement would've been gaining momentum right around the time that the first Foram were discovered. I've got no intent to make this story about civil rights or anything (it's not even close to my place, and it should have no direct impact the RP or my characters); I'm just curious how references to real-world events, people, and movements slot into this RP.

And if you're worried about this group making too big of a plot splash, no need (though I'd be happy to scale them up if you think there's interesting potential) - they're going to have already been pretty hamstrung before the RP's start, and they were never up in people's faces the way the Vigilantes or the Demon's Run are. Sociopolitical all the way.

Name: Cecilia “Ceci” Morris
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Power (If any): Audio Editor--that is, she is capable of tapping into the hearing of a single individual within normal human earshot at a time, and “adjusting” the volume at which they perceive sound. This can go either way, allowing Ceci to bring people's hearing to her level (deaf), or make the world around them so loud it is painful, and any increment of change in between. That being said, Ceci rarely uses her ability to tune into others hearing unless she needs it, as her own mind is sensitive to sound at this point, and prolonged use of the ability gives her nasty headaches.
Appearance: In spite of her status as a legal adult, many often mistake Cecilia for a child. Her 5’4” height often leaves people guessing she is far younger than she actually is, and it’s not much helped by her delicate build, and wide, impossibly blue eyes. Her long, wavy hair ranges from a dark brown to a honeyed gold, and tends towards messy by default, though she makes a better effort to clean up before going out. Though she can’t hear, her closet is filled with long-sleeved graphic tees bearing the names and logos of various rock and heavy metal bands, which she will wear around her workplace, alongside tattered jeans, though she opts to go barefoot when she can. When heading out elsewhere, though, she tends to dress up a little, nice dresses with long sleeves, or ones she can comfortably wear a cardigan over, in warm neutral tones--mostly beiges, mochas, and chocolates--paired with matching flats or kitten heels.
History:

Trigger warning - The following character history contains mentions of domestic violence.

Born the daughter of a very wealthy and influential businessman, Cecilia’s life was...less difficult than most. Or, well, it might be better to say that it would have been, considering that shortly after being given the vaccine at the age of two, she became profoundly deaf. While doctors tried to convince her parents that it was unlikely the vaccine had anything to do with the girl’s complete loss of hearing, they were having none of it, and quickly became public opponents of the vaccine. Though the loss of hearing slowed her learning progress, Ceci picked up on American sign language quickly...but her parents did not, especially her father. Her mother often became her translator at home, but her inability to communicate well with her father made relationships in their home strained.
The first time her father lashed out physically, it was towards her mother. Ceci was seven, and couldn’t believe her own eyes at first. And then he lashed out at her in the same way a few days later. “Daddy’s just stressed, sweetheart,” her mom told her later. “Daddy’s stressed, and he doesn’t know how to handle it. The best we can do is make things less stressful for him.” And while Ceci and her mother did their best to become the model wife and daughter, it wasn’t always enough. He continued to lash out over the years that followed, and he quickly took to apologizing for his “loss of temper” by showering Ceci and her mother with gifts. It wasn’t until she hit the age of eleven that she discovered that she had the power to ease her dad’s stress by opening new means of communication...through computers. Her mother had done something to mess theirs up, and she was terrified of telling Ceci’s father, afraid of the inevitable fallout. Determined to help her mother avoid her father’s wrath, she figured out how to fix the computer problem herself...and fell in love with playing with computers in general. She quickly discovered she could give herself a voice through emails and forums, as well as rough text to speech programs, when ASL failed her in daily life, which was often, even with a translator to help at school and home.

It wasn't until a year later that she discovered she had real powers, though, and only on accident. The personal aid she was assigned that year for school didn't seem to know a thing about what they were doing, and often translated things in ways that made little to no sense. That year, she began to feel isolated from her fellow students, more so than she had before, and she often found herself looking at the students around her and wishing that she too could participate in their conversations, could hear what they were saying...and sometimes, she thought she imagined it so well that she could. Except, imagination didn't hurt like this did--was it possible she was regaining her hearing after all these years? Initially, she almost prayed that she wasn’t, as the sudden influxes of sound only seemed to scatter her thoughts and hurt her ears...at least, until she finally buckled down and really began trying to understand what was going on, and the conclusion she eventually reached horrified her at first.

The vaccine that children were required to take when they were two, the one that was supposed to prevent children from developing abnormalities and powers, and that her parents blamed for her loss of hearing--it hadn't worked on her. Initially, the discovery made her feel shameful of her powers, even though they could only serve to help her as a normally nonhearing individual navigate through a world designed mostly for hearing individuals. She tried to convince herself that using them was bad, but couldn't help touching on them to help diffuse situations with her father...and it mostly worked. With his daughter’s newfound ability to understand him, despite his inability to properly use sign language, Ceci found her father less likely to lash out at both she and her mother, something she viewed as inherently good. Eventually, she convinced herself that she was doing better having had the powers than living without them, even though the rest of society seemed only to see them as bad.

By the age of thirteen, her ability to handle her powers had improved drastically...but she hardly needed them anywhere other than at home. She joined the ASL club at her new middle school in hopes of possibly finding others she could communicate directly with, rather than using her personal aid as a third party, and that was where she first met Rob Barrett. Rob, who had joined the club to find kids who wouldn't make fun of his tendency to talk and sign at the same time after growing up alongside a deaf cousin, was delighted to find another student who already understood sign language well there, and he and Ceci became fast friends. He too loved computers, though he was more interested in pulling them apart and putting them back together than he was playing with software, but together it turned out that he and Ceci were a great pair, using both their expertise to convince Ceci’s parents to buy her the parts to build her own desktop for her next birthday--a project they spent hours researching and building together. Rob also introduced her to the idea of enjoying music through feeling, rather than hearing, and Ceci returned the favor by introducing him to the the local ASL poetry slam her mother took her to frequently. The two became inseparable after that, much to the displeasure of Ceci’s father. While Rob wasn’t exactly lower class, his family wasn’t exceedingly wealthy, either, and he blamed the boy for trying to turn his daughter into a “rebel” by getting her interested in awful music she couldn’t hear, and computers, which she fell further in love with after building her own. Suddenly, the perfect daughter he had been planning to groom into the perfect public “spokeswoman,” for lack of a better term, became independent, and began getting wild ideas about her future.

It wasn’t until she was fifteen that things exploded, though. Her father had continued issuing his own brand of tyranny at home, and Ceci and her mother continued to put up with it, though Rob told her that they had every right to call the police, or to force her father to seek help for his poor anger management. She doesn’t remember what exactly the fight was about, and her unwillingness to borrow his ears until about halfway through his rant didn’t help matters, but she does remember being tuned into his hearing when he raised his hand to strike her. In the moment, she panicked--She was tired of being hit, she was tired of walking on eggshells, and it wasn’t until later that she remembered twisting her fingers in a motion similar to twisting the volume dial on a radio, or a set of speakers, and screaming. Her father crumpled to the floor in a heap, having passed out, and when he woke up, he claimed to be unable to remember what had happened. Ceci was thankful for the intervention but...what had caused it? In the years that followed, she continued to play with her ability, and discovered that she could seemingly alter the hearing of those a certain distance away from her if she wished, though that distance was short. Her abilities at working with software grew, as well, and so did her friendship with Rob. In fact, the day she turned eighteen, she packed her things and moved out of her parent’s house, and into her best friend’s. She finished high school with fantastic grades and honors, but she decided against college, instead choosing to work for the small computer repair and build store Rob had started in the building space below the two bedroom apart he had been saving for since he was a kid. With the two of them working together, the store quickly grew a reputation for being the go-to place for repairs and build advice in spite of its hole in the wall appearance.
There, life was perfect, and Ceci picked up a new skillset, teaching herself how to hack--mostly into nearby security cameras, and edit the footage. At first, she did it for fun, but as the vigilante movement grew in increasing popularity, she began using her skills for a new purpose--tracking down Foram activity, and hiding it, or bringing into the limelight. She finally got the chance to grow into the person she wanted to be, instead of the the person that would cause the least amount of stress for her dad, and eventually decided to come clean to Rob about her abilities...except Rob had already figured it out himself, and didn’t have any problem with it. After all--it’s only helped her where society society tends to fail her.
Personality: For those familiar with her upbringing, it can be difficult to imagine the once quiet, demure girl becoming what she has since moving out of her parent’s household. She’s since grown lively, quick to smile, maybe even laugh, if she’s able to catch a joke, or the odd funny action. While she enjoys spending her days working in the computer shop her roommate and best friend owns, as well as hacking her way into various local security feeds to keep tabs on the local vigilantes and villains in order to keep tabs on them, then cover or expose their actions as she sees fit, she also has fun getting out and about. In spite of her deafness, she enjoys “listening” to music, the more bass, the better, and can often be found hidden away in a mostly soundproofed room in the shop below their apartment, where she blasts music loud enough to deafen hearing individuals so that she can feel the vibrations caused by the music, though she also occasionally drags Rob out to concerts as well. When not dragging him out to concerts that leave him half-deaf, they both enjoy attending nearby ASL poetry slams, both to experience the art form, as well as to make new friends.
Alignment (If any): Vigilante
Other: Where her handiwork appears in the limelight, it’s often associated with with the username “1984” or “Orwell,” though good luck actually tracking her down, or getting her to admit it. Rob has consented to allow her use of his hearing at pretty much any time, though she knows phone calls are off-limits, as they should be. When faced with situations in which she is surrounded by people who aren't familiar with ASL, she tends to use a text to speech program on her phone to communicate that uses a custom voice Rob helped her set up.

Name: Robert “Rob” Barrett
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Power (If any): Simply put, Rob is minor abilities as a sort of Foram detector. In the presence of other Foram, he has a tendency to feel...a sort of...well, he jokingly calls it a disturbance in the force. Most times it simply manifests as a sudden, unexplained popping of his ears, or twist of his stomach, but it will rarely manifest as a distinct feeling that feels more like being tugged along by an internal compass, or occasionally react to the presence of a Foram so strongly that it may make him physically ill. The more often he spends time around a given Foram, the less likely his power is to react to them, often allowing him to find new potential Foram in the world around him. He has theories regarding how his ability works, but has refrained from trying to test its limits.
Appearance: Tall and wiry, it’s not too hard to imagine that Rob runs a local computer shop, given his endless stock of self-promotional t-shirts and game and band-related graphic tees, usually partly hidden under a simple, black zip-up hoodie. Most of his pairs of jeans are dark wash, some are starting to wear around the knees, and while his sneakers are well-worn, there’s nothing about him that suggests that it’s for any reason other than that he enjoys wearing comfortable clothing. His curly, dark brown hair often looks like it’s torn between being a mess and being styled, and his brown eyes, hidden behind a pair of wire-frame glasses, and lopsided smile exude an odd sort of friendliness. His pale skin suggests he doesn’t get out all that much, but his perpetual five o’clock shadow at least suggests that he does his best to keep himself looking semi-presentable.
History: Rob thus far has lived a pretty normal life--grew up with both his loving parents in a tightly-knit family, and learned ASL very early in his life, as he had a cousin born with moderately severe deafness. Only a year younger than his cousin, Taylor, the two were pretty close throughout elementary and middle school, which was how Rob picked up the habit of signing almost all of his spoken words. Outside of Taylor’s presence, he was picked on for it, though, and spent many a recess in those years hiding out in his school’s computer lab, which only fueled the interest he had in computers--an interest that had initially been sparked by his dad’s position as an IT guy for a nearby college.
When he was ten, Rob’s father rewarded his interest in computers with a project--He was going to teach Rob how to build his own computer. Little did the man know the monster he was going to create, and when the project had been finished, young Rob had decided he was going to teach himself everything he could about computers, and save up to open his own store one day...and he held to this decision. His self teaching became the only thing that kept him sane when his aunt and uncle got divorced, and his aunt packed up and moved away, taking Taylor with her right before Rob started middle school. Thankfully, the school had an ASL club, which he joined in hopes of finding friends who didn’t pick on him for his knack of signing everything he spoke aloud, which was where he met Cecilia Morris. The two became fast friends, given that Cecilia had trouble communicating with most of the other kids without a translator, and she also had an interest in computers. It wasn’t long before Rob was talking her into letting him help her build her own, and not much longer after that, she became part of his dream to own a store. When she finally showed him her skills with software, he was pretty impressed, and offered a job to her on the spot...for a business he didn't even own yet. She thought it was funny at the time, but he quickly showed her how serious he was about the dream, given he had enough saved up for it to look like a sizeable college fund.

In fact, that was what his parents thought it was, and they were livid when the money went to Rob starting his own business almost straight out of high school. They were certain it would be a waste of money, as he couldn't possibly know enough to run a business well...but somehow, his shop stayed afloat. It even grew a small sort of community, or cultlike following, and things only improved when he hired on Ceci to help him out. While he didn’t know much about the girl’s life at home, he did know she didn't get along well with her father, and offered her the extra room in the apartment he rented out above his storefront when she graduated high school. Admittedly, he was surprised she accepted, but was pleased to see her grow more cheerful and outgoing. Of course, that wasn't the only thing he began to notice. Not too long after he hit the age of thirteen, Rob had noticed that his body had odd reactions to being in the presence of certain people. It was easy to shrug off in his school years, as the reactions faded in time, but after starting up his business, he began to notice the reactions again, take real notice of the people who came in...and oddly enough, he noticed several later being taken in under the suspicion of being Foram, but it wasn’t until Ceci suggested that maybe the vaccine meant to combat the development of abilities and bodily abnormalities hadn’t worked on him, just as it hadn’t worked on her, that he considered he might be capable of detecting other Foram. As it was, he found himself oddly unsurprised when his best friend finally admitted to him that she was capable of borrowing the hearing of others and possibly altering it. Of course, once he began to consider the possibility, that was when he knew he was truly in danger--if anyone ever figured it out, well, it would be a useful ability to...pretty much anyone who wanted to find other Foram, for any reason, and did his best to help Ceci try to find and cover up or expose Foram activity based on whether the individuals were using their powers for good or bad. While he doesn't regret the decision, he does worry that it may someday bring them too much attention, even though they haven't interacted with any vigilantes or Demon’s Run members as fellow Foram.
Personality: Friendly and open, it’s hard to imagine Rob being picked on when he was younger, in spite of his love for computers. He’s just...one of those people that tends to make you feel bad for being rude to him because he’s so darned nice, especially around his roommate and best friend, Ceci Morris. He’s quick to offer help to those in need, even if it may get him in over his head, and determined to make sure he does everything he can for someone before telling them there’s nothing he can do. Though he does spend most of his days pulling computers apart and then putting them back together, he does allow Ceci to drag him out to concerts and ASL poetry slams, and has a particular fondness for rock and metal music.
Alignment (If any): Vigilantes
Other: Still has a tendency to sign everything he speaks, and does keep in touch with Taylor. Tends to serve as Ceci's translator.

Accepted! I have one more character to make then I'll start the RP!

Ahhh I hope I'm not too late to sign up! I was convinced to sign up only recently >u<
Name: Cassandra (Cassie) Cole (Needles)
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Power (If any): Ferrokinesis
Appearance:
Cassandra is an average young woman, at the height of 5' 4” and long chestnut brown hair that reaches to her mid back, usually kept in a braid or bun. She has a fair complexion, with a smattering of light brown freckles on her nose and cheeks. Her bottle-green eyes rest behind a pair of red framed cat-eye glasses.

Her day to day clothes usually consist of sweaters and jeans, having a preference for soft, warm clothes. She often wears boots and a bag holding her knitting and sewing projects.

When she takes the mantle of Needles however she wears a long sleeved silver shirt with pieces of metal sewn on, and a black leather jacket bedecked with chain and more pieces of metal. She wears a simple pair of denim jeans, as well as a pair of steel-toed combat boots with steel soles. To cover her face she has a metallic motorcycle mask, similar to something one might see on Smoke from Mortal Kombat
History:
For most of her childhood, Cassie was raised by her grandparents, and then her grandmother after her grandfather suffered a fatal heart attack. Her grandmother is still alive, and they are both on good terms with one another.
When Cassandra was 4 her parents died in a car accident while they had been on the way to an art show put on by her school. After her parent's passing, Cassandra was left in the care of her grandparents, who raised her lovingly and nurtured her love of art and creating. She became a cosplayer, and discovered her powers that way.
She was sewing her newest cosplay when she sneezed, causing all of the needles in her nearby pincushion to fly into the ceiling and stick there. The surprised and concerned 13 year old went to her grandma who assured her that all would be fine if she kept her power a secret.
She then grew on to be a cosplay designer and creator, crafting and making cosplay items and accessories then selling them on her online store.
Cassandra loves what she does, but felt like she should do something to help Foram everywhere, so she began practicing with her powers, and with time and constant practice, became an excellent marksman using her power to fling knives and needles as well as other sharp metallic objects.
Soon, she began doing work as a vigilante, calling herself Needles because of how she discovered her powers.
She lives with her grandma, Adelina, in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Personality:
A cheerful and amiable person, Cassandra can come off to some as absentminded but she hides a quick wit underneath that facade. She smiles often and as a teenager suffered from severe anxiety, which caused her to withdraw and added a shy note to her personality. Now in her twenties she is an outgoing young woman with a sense of right and visions of a potential, positive future for Foram.
Alignment (If any): Vigilantes
Other: When exposed to high amounts of magnetism she gets headaches, as well as if she tries to lift more than a certain weight she can get headaches and nosebleeds.
Wears contacts when out and about as Needles.

Because I need a comic relief character and we need a NoMaj.

Name: Conrad Campopolus, a.k.a. “The Righteous Armadilloman”
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Power (If any): Conrad has no powers of which to speak, despite his insistence otherwise.

Appearance: Conrad is a heavyset young man, but fortunately his high school wrestling career and frequent trips to the gym have ensured that at least some of that bulk is muscle. Despite his 6’3’’ and broad-shouldered frame, there is something inherently nonthreatening about Conrad, largely due to the wide grin that is often plastered on his lightly bearded face. Muddy brown eyes and matching hair trimmed very close to his skull are separated by a smaller-than-average forehead, giving Conrad a bit of a simian appearance.

As a college student, Conrad is usually clad in an informal uniform made up of whatever was at the top of the clean clothes pile, often including one of the seemingly innumerable SUNY sweatshirts that he picked up during his time on campus. As “The Righteous Armadilloman”, however, Conrad decks himself out in a full set of hockey pads, hidden underneath a poorly-sown cotton jumpsuit in dazzling maroon donated by a few girls on his floor with a giant black Comic Sans-style “A” on his chest and a similarly, though not perfectly matching, dark gray cape. For a mask, Conrad somehow managed to combine wrestling headgear with the top half of a ski mask, allowing him to hide some of his face but keep the lower half exposed, including that winning smile. It does about as good a job at hiding his identity as you would expect.

History: For most of his life, Conrad lived a spectacularly unimpressive life. Growing up in a suburb of Buffalo, he became a big fish in a little pond so to speak: big man on campus, captain of the wrestling team and goalie of the hockey team, homecoming and prom king, he fit the stereotypes to a “T”. But none of that left him feeling particularly accomplished and it seemed as though he was destined to go to school for four years, get a job in sales like his old man, and shuffle through life until it ended. There were no peaks or valleys, just a steady line of existence.

After he started college at SUNY New Platz, however, Conrad found his calling in life. A man calling himself “Impact” had decided to rehabilitate Forams in the public eye by publicly doing good works and fighting crime. Conrad had no real opinion on the issue of Foram rights, but he was enraptured with the idea of superheroes being real and asked himself, “why not me?”

Thus, despite lacking any actual powers or talents, Conrad set out to craft a superhero identity: “The Righteous Armadillo”. Despite his efforts to hide his identity, Conrad’s popularity and poorly designed costume did little to hide his identity. He became a bit of a minor celebrity on the campus, helping out his fellow students with minor safety issues.

His “open secret” was discovered by the government very easily and they hauled Conrad into a detention center for monitoring and questioning. Rattled, Conrad spilled his guts and admitted that it was all made up. After two weeks, he was released after signing an affidavit not to make any public declarations of support for Foram or vigilantism in general. His dorm was also bugged.

That kept him on the straight and narrow for a while, limiting his appearances as the Righteous Armadillo, but when Demon’s Run made its public threat, Conrad couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. As soon as finals were over, he headed to New York City to help in anyway he can, which probably won’t be much.

Personality: Conrad is not particularly smart, but he more than makes up for that with guts and enthusiasm. When Conrad sets his mind to doing something, nothing can dissuade him from that path, no matter the danger or the discomfort. Unfortunately, he has applied this tenacity to dressing up in a costume and walking the streets. Still, it is something to be admired. In terms of social interactions, Conrad is an overly gregarious and friendly individual especially to strangers and people he has barely met, often employing a lot of physical contact such as high fives and fist bumps. Undergirding every part of his personality is a belief, nay, a confidence, that everything works out for the best. This faith in the arc of the universe and the fundamental goodness of his fellow man can make Conrad far too trusting, but at least he will make those mistakes with a smile on his face.

His usual attire is a pair of blue jeans, a button up shirt and a bomber jacket. However when out in public as part of Demon’s run, he changes up his attire to something that blends in whilst not looking like his usual clothes, as well as a paintball mask under a hood to hide his identity.

History: Cole grew up in a higher end, middle class family in suburban Pensylvania. Whilst his grades were below average, he excelled in sports, especially football, where he found himself on the Varsity team at age fifteen. However he was the runt of the litter. Whilst he was top of his JV team, Varsity was something else completely. Because of this, and letting the opponents score a few times, he wasn’t the most popular person on his team.

However after being on the team for six months, something strange happened that nobody could explain.

During their match, one of the opponents players was causing them to lose. A brute of a teenager who stood at 6ft 7, and weighed roughly 200lbs, that nobody could seem to stop.

By clustering this one player, Cole’s team managed to score enough to bring the score to a tie, however with little time left, the match was up in the air.

In the final minute, the brute on the other team had the ball, and was running to score. Whilst he had 5 inches and about 30lbs on Cole, Cole attempted to tackle him, half expecting to be knocked out and concussed.

Except the opposite happened. When they collided, the brute was thrown backwards and hit the ground, whilst Cole remained standing and unharmed. The air was still and silent, before Cole realized it was mid-game, and got the ball.

The brute was taken off the field injured, whilst Cole’s team scored the winning goal. And after that, Cole was a celebrity.

Nobody could figure out why Cole was able to take down the brute, however it was assumed in the next few weeks that the brute tripped, at the right moment that Cole performed a perfect tackle to take him down.

A year later, Cole was watching the news and recognised the brute, who he discovered had been arrested for suspected Foram activity, with the ability of hyper-momentum. After this he began thinking about his fateful tackle. Even if the brute wasn’t super-powered, he didn’t see him trip like everyone says, and if he didn’t trip, there was no way he could have tackled him like that. And with powers in the mix, that was even more impossible.

Cole began wondering if he possessed a power, and began experimenting, testing himself to see if he possessed super-strength, or even hyper-momentum like the brute, however neither of them seemed to be it.

Whilst he was eager to discover what his power was, he had no clue how, eventually putting it in the back of his mind, until a trip to the local gas station revealed it to him.

Whilst getting some food after filling up his car, someone attempted to rob the gas station. They were unarmed, however were a pyokinetic Foram.

The robber hadn’t seen Cole by the drinks fridge, and attempted to rob the attendant, using his flaming hands as a weapon. Before realizing how bad tackling a superpowered ‘armed’ robber was of an idea, he ran at the robber, tackling them to the ground.

The robber attempted to use his power, however was shocked when it wouldn’t work. That’s when it clicked.

The robber himself was fairly scrawny and easy to overpower, so Cole held him until the police arrived, before making sure to leave fairly quickly, and not reveal just how he stopped the criminal.

Cole continued to play football, getting better and better, as his popularity as a footballer grew, eventually landing a scholarship at a college in Mahattan, and making his way to the top of their teams.

However in this time, he also looked online for others like him, eventually becoming on of the founding members of Demon’s Run.

Whilst he and Amy were good enough friends usually, when it came to Demon’s Run, they conflicted constantly, with Cole being too impatient and brash, whilst Amy was quite the opposite. Because of this, and Cole’s confidence as a natural leader, he was originally elected leader of Demon’s Run. However their first few ventures ended in disaster, with people getting injured, caught and arrested, due to oversights on Cole’s behalf that Amy had warned him about.

Because of this, even though Cole was officially their leader, Demon’s Run trusted Amy more, and looked to her for leadership, adding to the conflict between them.

On a mission that Cole was running, Amy warned him that it was probably a trap, and that they should call it off. Cole ignored this, before proceeding with the mission.

Amy didn’t feel right about it. She was supposed to stay behind, due to the nature of her ability not being as useful for combat, and her small size, however ended up following them as a civilian, and in turn, saving them from the sting operation that had been set up to catch them.

After that, Cole finally respected Amy enough to submit to her as a leader. However, she refused, having a better idea.

To all but the most inner circle of Demon’s Run, Cole is the leader, who makes the decisions. However in reality, every decision he makes is actually Amy’s. He doesn’t do a thing that she doesn’t first approve.

And after that, Demon’s Run became successful. Their operations became smoother and their numbers grew. And now, they’re ready for their biggest mission yet...
Personality: Cole has a strong sense of justice, however is stubborn and unteachable. His view on what is right and wrong, and what is fair can’t be changed by anyone but himself, and he doesn’t want to change it. He is willing to take extreme actions to meet his own ends, and in his eyes, because they are means to an end, they are justified.

Cole is fairly confident, due to reaching celebrity status at home, however also can be a bit of a jerk, both intentionally and unintentionally. He is used to getting his own way, and manipulating people into giving him what he wants, becoming fairly agitated if it seems like he won’t.

He has been interested in Amy for as long as he has known her, and whilst he hasn’t explicitly, said it, he has made that clear to her. Meanwhile, Amy has made it clear that she isn’t, and probably never well be.
Alignment (If any): Demon’s Run
Other: In the eye of the public, Cole is the leader of Demon’s Run. Very few realize the nature of his arrangement with Amy.

*Sigh* just gonna throw myself into another Rp...

Name: Keith Smith
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Power (If any): Forcefields
- Forcefields look like extra concentrated heat hazes. while still transparent, they give everything a motion-blur and a quite obvious to see.
- Forcefields are always flat, but can summoned at any angle.
- The forcefield cannot extend beyond a surface area of 30 Square feet. (so imagine 5ft by 6ft)
- Keith can create 2 forcefields total (one per hand) however their combined surface area must still be less than or equal to 30 square feet.
- While they are always indestructible, mental and physical fatigue make it difficult to keep up for longer periods of time.
- Forcefields cannot be moved, only released and re-summoned in a new location.

Appearance: Keith is a fairly well muscled, Very tan guy. Average height, He has simple brown eyes and a mess of black hair. Usually wears an unbuttoned blue plaid shirt over a plain black T-shirt and Blue Jeans. He gives off a country air about him, though that may be from his Kentucky Accent.

History: Keith actually moved to NYC only very recently. He's spent about a month in the city. He's originally from a mostly rural Town in Kentucky, Far removed from the problem of Any Foram powers. At least, until he start walking on air. Well, to be specific he was just making force fields under in feet, but the details hardly mattered. No one trusted him once his powers were revealed. Even his close friend distanced himself, though he would at least still talk to Keith properly occasionally unlike the other people his age. Whispers followed him most places, or suspicious and worrisome glances. It became very lonely, very fast.

For the longest time, Keith simply learned to live with it. He still had his parents, both of which loved him very much. They were very adamant about him never using his powers, but this was more out of fear for him than fear of the powers themselves. But slowly, over several years, the resentment built up inside Keith. Between the loneliness and occasional bullying, he felt trapped and resentful to everything. His mind was plagued with an angry desire to get away from all the hate and suspicion. Part of him still tried to simply hide his feelings, but they grew until that part that wanted to hit back, to run away, to just scream and shout and cry and make others feel the pain he felt just couldn't handle being held down anymore. It started small, maybe a snap-back remark or a threatening growl in return to the mutterings. Soon the problem grew. He started getting into fights. Hurting those who tried to pick on him. he refrained from using his powers out of respect and love to his parents, but he still fought and hurt others without them.

His parents, who had been looking for a miracle answer to their Son's problem, grabbed at he first hope they found. While Rumors that Keith was going to be arrested started to grow -none of the people who picked on him ever got in trouble- keith's parents discovered the existence of the Vigilantes and their heroic acts. His father managed to secure a job offer in the city, and neither of them looked back. In no time at all the Family uprooted and moved to the one and Only New York City, right smack dab in the middle of Manhattan.

It didn't take Keith long to learn why his parents had been so ready to move to New York of all places, but that didn't make him feel any better at it. For the most part he despised the City. It was polluted, dirty, and mean. Ironically, it was this last part that began to calm him down the most. No one knew of his powers here. (Not that he knew of anyway) and he could watch as people were just grumpy and mean in general, rather than having it all pointed at him. It made his problems feel sort of accepted, even if it was a mostly a baseless feeling. Still, he hadn't gotten over himself completely. He was still prone to back lashing sometimes, and had a very strong independent streak. The kind only entering a place where no one knows your identity while simultaneously shrugging off the hate and suspicion chaining him down can bring.

Personality: Very independent. Keith is a mixed up person, who rides between his emotions and his logic. Sometimes he'll be violent, sometimes cool headed, though never particularly trusting. He particularly doesn't like being told what to do, or how to live his life, unless its by his parents, whom he has a lot of love and respect for. Several desires commonly go through him, most of them connected to seeing other people being bullied. He has a desire to stop/hurt the bullies, but often he can't tell if he wants to do it to actually help the one being bullied or if it's just to get his own savage justice.A small part of him even wants to bully others himself (preferably people who thought they could bully him) though he works to keep that desire as small as possible. Overall, Keith has a strong desire to be free from the influence of others, to be his own person, but his feelings are very mixed as to what lengths he's willing to go to get that freedom.

Alignment (If any): Currently neither, though he knows about both and sometimes considers which he'd join.

Other: He likes to take walks and sing country music quietly.

It's not going to mess up any plans for the plot if My (or any) character runs into NPC vigilantes is it? I didn't get the feeling that vigilantes are an organized group.

Desolate Divine I am FINALLY done with Magenta's SU

[Desolate Divine]

Breaking down. Reserve please
